    I'm just glad that midgets are not being added, not because I hate them, but because every rabid a$$hat would pick one, to hide better and to have smaller hitbox. Also I don't expect devs to add fat/skinny people if only because they would have to redo all clothing and stuff to fit, possibly also redo animations and that would be TONS of work. Even basic stuff like adding model of weapon with flashlight duct taped on, was rejected due to additional work. Still I hope later they could reconsider.

    Hmm Call of Cthulhu, item worthy of carrying! Byt atheists in trenches, I believe they ment that most of people, when in imminent danger of dying, often prays to some higher powers, even when in times of peace they do not go to church nor they are religious in nature. I'm not saying this makes them members of some specific Church or cult.

    I used to carry testament and sometimes bible as well, even if Im not religious. But as they say, there are no atheists in the trenches. Might as well apply to zombie apocalypse!

    Just what I was thinking! Well except for the middle one, that is beyond any help. But no, I also do not want for DayZ female avatars to be average skinny model type. Those would not last very long I reckon. Not saying fatties would, but somehow normal females, those who can split somebody's head with an axe, those would have good chance as any of us.

    If you have AKM you obviously do not need pistol at all, since AKM is superb at close range and ok up to midrange or so. Pistol or MP5K is desirable if you have Mosin+LRS for sniping. Btw if they really fixed shotgun, I will try to survive with shotty and maybe a pistol, ideally a magnum. Wish we could already craft arrows then I would go with crossbow or bow + pistol or sawnoff.

    I believe developers have already said, that they are not for 100% realism. If they were, they would not implement Mosin firing 7.62x51 or bother with adding of export AK-101 in NATO caliber.

    You worry because they are adding rifles that population would realisticaly have? Btw if they add lmg/hmg those might be rather rare, so don't expect finding those all the time.

    Well if devs finally put Sporter's and some pistol's mags into civilian loot, it would boost their usage by a lot! I hope that CR527's mags also spawn in civilian loot. I generaly agree with you except that Sporters effective range of 100m seems enough to me. Just make it's mags spawn in civilian loot and maybe allow some attachment for it, and I think it will be good. I just hope, that those civilian body armors (clothing full of items) will be fixed soon, since it is killing usefulness of weaker weapons. Does not make sense if 1 bullet travels through whole jacket, hitting everything there, only to pinch the player in the end and not even making him bleed.

    I saw some folks cleaning revolvers for sure, is it really doing nothing? O_o But yeah I understand that simpler mechanisms are less prone to jamming, hence I would go with AK :-).

    Riders jacket get torn pretty fast, but our rifles taking hits from bullets are still pristine :). Can't wait for once we need to take care of our weapons, cleaning and repairing them, or they would jam. Would bring in a lot of immersion.

    I kinda agree with that. I also loved gritty, harsh feeling of Stalker. It was heavily based on fiction, but I think they've managed to keep to Eastern setting even if they provided lots of NATO guns. As I've said, I'm not totaly against NATO weapons, but they really should be considerably more rare, ammo as well. Not sure I agree with you, that M4 should be the best NATO rifle, but maybe the most commom of them all? Personally I would not miss if .50 cals were left out, if we did not have thermal scopes, if most powerfull sniper rifles were shooting just 7.61x51 or 7.61x54R, but that is ofcourse my personal opinion.

    Given the fact that majority of games has excess of NATO gear, I kinda feel that it would be a waste if DayZ SA became one of them. I'm not saying western stuff should'nt be there at all, but make it rarer. I mean what is the point in having DayZ in Chernarus, if not to follow likely setting? Devs have the power to adjust background of Chernarus however they see fit, but let me ask you one thing. Would changing history of Chernarus in such way, that it's loot would mirror place located in US, do the game any good? Or would it be more beneficial to follow likely setting of post communist country, where Mosins, SKS and AK's should be the workhorses. Getting some shiny Scar-H or something, should be possible but rare, making players happy once achieved and giving them long term goal as well (to be fully equipped with shiny NATO gear).

    Well I would not expect barracks in "eastern" country to be full of NATO rounds. Surely not in higher quantities than their eastern counterparts (7.62x39 and 5.45x39). This is one of the reasons why I believe having calibers "streamlined" is bad from both realism and gameplay pov. If we had AK74M in 5.45x39, it's ammo could/should be more plentiful than 5.56x45 for M4. I was kinda happy when M4 and it's ammo was moved to helicrashes only. I kinda expect that we might get some NATO checkpoints or bases, which would spawn western stuff.

    I've never said it's unrealistic finding weapon with mag :) . I voted for 10% chance of that happening and probably less for military weapons. My personal opinion is mix of realism and gameplay meaning I would prefer "underdog" weapons to have bigger chance of spawning with mag (say those 10%) as oposed to M4, AKM or SVD once that is in. I think it would be beneficial for the gameplay since people would use these weapons more, but they would still want to upgrade to something better. And yes, I hope that weapon cleaning kits will have important role, it's just that it is probably early for that. It would be so cool if M4 needed more maintenance than AK74/AKM. Oh how I wish DayZ SA travelled like a year forward in time and then came back. I so hope it would be THE GAME so many of us wish for.

    Some would argue that including export version of Russian weapon chambered in NATO caliber is kinda dumb idea, atleast untill we have AK74M in more common and fitting 5.45x39 caliber. But yeah caliber streamlining and "casuals"....

    Surely you realize, that whatever you deem as benefit to the gameplay, might be far away from what other people think. Anything I've ever advocated was realistic. Realistic calibers, mags for certain weapons as a part of civilian loot, some chance to gun spawning with mag....ALL of this is realistic no matter if you like it or not. Some of this might be beneficial to "casuals", some of it would not. What is unrealistic is putting artificial obstacles infront of players. What if guns only spawned completely disassembled and you would have to loot specific trigger, receivers, bolt etc? That would surely lead into even more rewarding and non streamlined gameplay right? I might have exaggerated somehow, but since it is the trend in our arguments, why the hell not.

    You have forgotten, that I'm for realistic features to be built into the game and being lucky finding a gun with magazine is certainly plausible thing. There might lie a core of our argument. You are fighting for more rewarding gameplay, no matter how artificial and unlikely the means to achieve this might be. This will never be ok with me to be honest. If, in some cases, the realistic means simple, I am ok with that. I do not need some made up fantasy features to be put into the game, just because few players expect this to somehow lead to more rewarding experience.

    That's what I wanted from the start. On the other hand I have zero problem with few of the weapons spawning with mag. If you see that as worshipping of the god of streamlining, then so be it, I can live with that. Although having realistic conditions in the game can be hardly called streamlining, as that implies something artificaly made up or adjusted from reality. Having only the export version of AK74 family in game, rustles my jimmies 10x more to be honest, but yes, there is a chance devs will remedy this later.
