A lot of EU private servers: UKA OldschoolDayZ DUG EU Gents of Novo SOS Grumpy And a few others
-
Interaction is a key pillar of DayZ. We all KoS from time to time, but I recommend trying to interact with people before pulling the trigger. It leads to much more rewarding scenarios. In this video I showcase 2 types of interaction we had in the space of an hour playtime.

They seem a bit think on the ground just now. I've been finding more in the south/mid of the map than up north.

I think the functionality is there to do this, but doesnt currently work in practice. If they made it so that doors could be locked with a lockpick and NOT be opened by hitting them with an axe/gunshot, so you had to use a lock-pick (which were a really rare spawn) to open locked doors, we could in theory have semi-functioning secure base building on private hives (not on public as you could ghost inside). Some more work/through needed around the lockpicking functionality and perhaps introduce a "key" and a "lockpick". The key to lock up your base door and to allow easy access in and out of it. The lockpick to unlock doors which you dont have a key for (Only have a small chance to unlock a door and be ruined after 10 tries?). Wardrobes/fridges dont function anymore and reset their persistence at server restart when they did. They would also have to limit what building/zones you could do this in.

Server Performances Private Hive, or Public -Desync issues
BeaverProductions replied to sneakydude's topic in Troubleshooting
I havent been experiencing a huge amount of issues (other than what was shown in my video). Very very infrequently I may get the warping back to old position, but not enough to be a major problem Some servers are worse than others for not being able to pick stuff up (as the server thinks you are stuck outside the building or object). I dont get the errors you seem to get. Occasionally get a memory error after exiting the game or crashing when trying to join a server Some servers seem a lot less responsive though (after eating food, the can remains in your hand for 5-10 seconds). Doors take a few seconds to open -
What on earth happened in this clip?

I'm going to quickly edit and upload the short clip of my testing the "misalignment" of the barrel/reddot tonight (if I have time). I believe its falacy and its simply the red dot which is misaligned. Crosshair still the same as it always has been -

Are people looking at the same clip as me? The first 10 shots result in 1 dirt puff over his right shoulder. Where are the rest if the bullets didnt connect? When the second 10 bullets fail to register and when he starts to move, one hits the ground with a puff. -

I thought bullet registration was performed client side then sent to the server to update. -

I think you need to do more testing. I've just shot about 30 rounds using a red dot on an M4. The Curve on the crosshair is still perfectly fine. Its the dot from the red dot thats out of alignment, not the crosshair. I was shooting at a lamp post from around 20 m and with the red dot on the lamp post I would miss, with the lamppost in the middle of the curve, it hit perfectly. -

Even with dsync, shouldn't the bullet registration catch up eventually? -
Shadowing a player in first person using their blind spot to try and hold them up

Have you ever tried blind spot shadowing a player on first person servers? It can be lots of fun. I was doing it to this guy to try and get him into a position to hold him up. -

That would have been great :) But I think he was either his friend who he was meeting up with or a random who was near, by complete chance, and came to investigate after I opened fire :( I think option 2 is more likely. It's a shame as the guy I was trying to get back on his feet will never know that it wasn't me who killed him. It will be fab when we get tasers/dart guns for holdups. -
In this video we ambush a couple of guys north of zele. Some really bad decisions were made by the opposition.
-
Let me run you through the scenario. The first kill was when they were surrounding my friend in the red brick, at a military area in one of the hottest PVP areas in the game. You will be very lucky to get a friendly encounter at this area. Second kill was on a glitcher who popped out a glitch. The next guy was the glitchers mate who looked like he may have also popped out a glitch. I dont make friends with glitchers. Third kill on the shotgun guy was one of the guys we killed earlier returning to fight after respawning. The guy with the blue backpack is the only one I could have possibly interacted with. I think he arrived after hearing all the gunshots. But to interact with someone when there are floods of people coming to kill you is utterly stupid. He wasnt coming to say "hi". He was lurking around the forest looking for easy kills. The final guy was a player who was camped in the green mansion for about 30 minutes and killed my friend with the red t-shirt. He was also in a glitch. I will usually interact with people when I bump into them. Im putting together a couple of videos right now with interaction and holdups.

Beav - Central Loot Economy / Base Raid (A Prospective Analysis)
BeaverProductions posted a topic in Gallery
In this video I discuss a possible reason for the extreme lack of military guns and ammo at the major military zones. -
*sniff The memories :( Had so many great encounters and PVP episodes all over this great city. Every photo brought back a memory of something happening at each location. Looking forward to the new version, but it definitely will be missed

Coastal attackers and Jail campers in Zelenogorsk - 3PP - 0.59 [11:30]
BeaverProductions posted a topic in Gallery
After a few fresh spawn try to unsuccessfully attack us on our journey west, we end up at Zelenogorsk. We seem to always get into scraps here. This time we come across some jail camping villainy. -

The lone wolf game play can be challenging at times. Flanking hard and taking your time is often the best course of action. -

Sure was, that was the edited version and still it was 20 minutes long. Was probably trapped in there for 30-45 minutes. My friend had time to run back from the coast. My bloody mouse hand was killing me in the end. Amazed I got out alive without having to fire a single shot
