    Repairing items and clothing

    Most items of basic clothing (Tshirts/Coats/Hoodies/Pants) can be repaired with a sewing kit. This can only repair damaged or badly damaged gear to the "worn" status. Items like raincoats/riders jackets and some others cannot be repaired. Backpacks and assault vests cannot be repaired. There is a bug at the moment that sometimes means you have to remove the item then put it back on to see that it has repaired.

    You can also use bandages/books/paper to combine with kindling to make a fireplace kit. This is what you add the firewood to then light the fire with matches. You can actually take the fireplace kit with you in your backpack, but I find it easier to just carry some sticks and always have some rags/bandages on me anyway. You can make extra rags by right clicking on a t-shirt/bandanna/hoodies. Kindling - Chop down a bush with an axe or chop down a larger tree and split the firewood into kindling or search the grass in first person to find some if you dont have an axe. Once you kill your animal, skin and gut it with a knife/machete. The better quality the knife, the better yield of meat you will receive. If you kill a deer you can make the hide that into a leather sack (20 slot). Cook the meat in the fire slots - usually takes about 5 minutes but you have to watch it carefully as it will turn from cooked to burned very quickly. Kill a pig and you can use the hide along with rope and sticks to make a 25 slot backpack.

    Any fixes?

    I guess to the player it seems like 1 step forward and 2 steps back....but to the developers its: We have just added 5 new modules to the game We had X number of modules in the game in 0.48, and now we have X+ 5 in 0.49. The amount of bugs are irrelevant. They will deal with game breaking bugs and bugs which can be easily fixed with little effort. If they spend 2 weeks fixing a bug, then the next module they add to the development breaks that bug fix, thats 2 weeks wasted time right there. If they know that a whole new module is coming along in 2 months time to replace old modules, its a total waste of development time to spend 2 weeks fixing said bugs. If they just continue to add module after module then deal with the bugs after they are all in, you will get your completed game months, if not years earlier this way. The reason why so many people bleat on about it being an alpha, is because so many people fail to realise that this is what happens in alpha. This is not a game. Its a game in development. I really dont think we would be happy if they did this: Fixing every bug as it arises: Add>Fix>Add>Fix>Add>Fix>Add>Fix>Add>Fix Fixing bugs periodically at the correct time to do so: Add>Add>Add>Add>Fix>Add>Add>Add>Fix From the first example you can see that we added 5 modules and fixed them every time they were added. From the second example you can see that we added 7 modules and fixed them at the appropriate juncture when it was essential that they were fixed.

    Stable - 0.49 Discussion

    Has there been any further information released from the dev team regarding the remaining server crashing bugs? In the last update they reported a fix to a couple of bugs which were causing some crashes, but I've not noticed any further communication about what they think is still causing the issue.

    I was a bit freaked out by the thing. His Blase was empty, but his mosin was fully loaded so the no ammo thing is not true, and his inventory was bugged so couldn't see other ammo. So a dude was setting up a visual trap for unsuspecting players to run to so he could shoot them, and you want me to strike up a conversation with him and give him a chance to shoot me? I don't think so - as you seen from the previous clip, I'm a friendly player and didnt shoot the 2 dudes I met in Severograd...I'm not going to give a bandit a chance to kill me. I do however wish I had spoken to him but I was shitting myself that there were others around and doubted my ability to shoot a moving target :)

    What happened here?

    I logged off at the top of one of the 2 story buildings in Elektro. No windows around for anyone to see me. As I was logging in, and the textures were loading, I could move my camera and see all around me, through walls. That isn't the issue, the problem was that I could see 2 guys instantly move to my location from outside the building and climb the stairs, gun pointed at me through walls and floors at all times, and shot me before I could even move as the textures were loading. How did these 2 guys even know where I was? Is there a sound generated when you log in that they could have heard? I thought they removed login/logoff audio sounds?

    I usually do, but I had to log off quickly. The issue here guys isn't where I logged off, its the point that they seen me log in and made a bee line for my location through walls and floors. I could understand it if there was a sound when I logged it, but does anyone know if they removed this sound for login and logoff?

    Yeah if Buster didnt spot them coming in the building, we would have been toast. I've not been in many fights like that before so I was flapping a bit after the fight and during it.

    Chopping wood/kindling...

    Just to make sure, as my friend was doing the same thing and was getting no wood, are you sure you are using the mouse scroll wheel or F key to chop the tree? My buddy was just hacking at trees like they were zombies and expecting wood to appear. If you're doing it correctly, I dunno how to help. Not had a problem with every tree I have chopped down, Firewood/kindling is in the vicinity window at the base of the tree if your inventory is full.

    Im sure you are correct about that is the intended reason your screen should go blurry and resolve itself once you are healthy again. The issue I encountered was that you can sometimes be completely hydrated, energised and healthy and the blurry vision never goes away. I had to help my friend get rid of the bug as for a full 2 nights worth of playing he had a blurry screen when at full health/blood. A quick click of the "video" setting gets rid of it.

    If you want to give ammo to someone, tell them to run in the opposite direction so they are a few hundred meters away from you, then drop the ammo and run away. Or tell them you'll give them ammo but you will take their gun and drop it off a few hundred meters away.
