The microbiologist in me would like more accuracy. Fresh fruit in houses should be removed from the game completely. A fresh cow steak should be eaten with very low risk of infection. Steak Tartare anyone? Chicken on the other hand should have a high rate of infection/disease. If you have a raw cow steak in your bag for 24-48 hours+, the risk of infection/poisoning should increase over time. Butchery skills could be a soft skill if we ever have them. Better at the skill = better meat cuts/more meat and less infection/poisoning chance.

For this video I was stationed up in Novoselky Apartments north of Cherno and wanting to practice some long range shots on folks behaving badly. I'm normally not a KOS sort of dude outside military areas, but this guy seemed to be begging for me to end him.

New renderer questions.

BI didn't make that engine. It was their sister company and they dont normally share tech. -
Try changing your aspect ratio to 16:9 to solve your black bars down the side of your screen.

Just to warn you bud, the admins deleted my video which had no actual hacking content, but the title was misleading. Think this might get pulled due to the hacker in the truck :/ -
Rarest Loot (Experienced Looters)
BeaverProductions replied to punkvegita's topic in General Discussion
Funnily enough, I have 2 characters on private servers with stab-vests. Never looked for them specifically, just checked out train stations. -
Consider the roadmaps like Santa Wish Lists. Santa often doesnt deliver everything you want. Sometimes the elves take longer to build certain toys than expected. The Roadmap isnt a "Contract", its a set of ideas they want to explore. Some will be easy to achieve, some will take longer.

Nice action in the video mate. Good shooting. I used to make 20+ minute videos due to the amount of stuff going on, but most people will only watch your videos for 2-5 minutes until you have a dedicated following of subscribers who are "bought in to" the content you produce. A few well made 5 minute videos and some good luck will do wonders for your channel. One of my videos got featured on DayZTV and that got me about 50 subs alone. I prefer to make story driven content so will occasionally make a long video, but my advice to you would be to trim them down to allow you to capture an audience, then once your subs grow you can start to make longer movies. I subbed :)

Are you running the game on 16:10? You should switch to 16:9 to solve your aspect ratio problem.

How do you use the heat pack?
BeaverProductions replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
Good point about not even needing a knife. I just always make one when I spawn on the beach. So much better than the machete and kitchen knife (1 slot) Rubbing sticks together would be ideal. Even the spark from a stun baton or cattle-prod since you have the battery when you spawn anyway. -
PSO-1 is the AK scope. it ONLY spawns in barracks. You must be thinking of PU Scope for the SKS and Mosin

How do you use the heat pack?
BeaverProductions replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
Just another POI. You don't need an axe to make a fire. Make a stone knife (any stony texture like on the beach - search for a stone then put it in hands and search again - might need to do the workaround to make the knife due to the current bug (F11 or holding W) and go to a bush and chop kindling. Use 1 stick along with rag/paper/bandage/book to make the kit then add the other 2 sticks to make the fire. I really wish they would allow us a method of lighting the fire without matches -
How do you use the heat pack?
BeaverProductions replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
If you put a heatpack in your backpack in real life, would it heat you up? No Stick it in your trousers or jacket. Best to use when you are cold, before you go freezing if the server is set to winter or raining constantly. If you are already freezing, you are going to have to go make a fire quite quickly, negating the value of the heatpack. Stick tinned food items on the fire. These can also be used as heatacks once they go bright red. -

I should have gone for his ass, but assumed aiming for the head would be more productive :) -

Was surprised how effective it was. Tried again on another character and zapped a dude unconscious in 1 hit, although my next try was 3 hits on a guy and nothing happened (fresh battery) -
Any News on REAL Snipers?
BeaverProductions replied to therandomredstone's topic in New Player Discussion
I often get the feeling that some people would like this game to be about picking flowers and presenting them to other players. Some people are friendly always Some people are friendly sometimes Some people are friendly under certain circumstances Some people will kill everyone they meet Some people will kill only geared players Some people will kill only players in Military areas Some people will kill only after making contact first Some people will kill from range with a sniper Some people will only kill with a sniper under certain conditions The list goes on and on and on To wail on someone who doesnt follow the same engagement rules that you follow is actually quite pathetic. There are NO engagement rules in this game unless you participate in places like DayZRP. Sure you might be annoyed with some peoples actions (I personally dislike folks who slaughter freshspawns for no reason, but I don't moan about it - I kill them), but to be an ass on a forum about people playing a sniper playstyle is quite pathetic. I like to snipe. I don't always snipe. I like to view players from a safe distance I like to decide if I will kill them instantly or not (99% of the time I dont) I like to work out if they are players who are randomly attacking other players, then I have personal justification for sniping them (as can be seen in the video i linked earlier in this thread). I often just watch people go about their business in towns and military areas without taking a shot unless something happens that passes my personal justification for shooting (Some days that may be something as simple as they are in range and a shot is possible). This is my game and I play it my way and anyone who proclaims that my style is wrong can go shove a LRS up their ass. -
There are 'kind' of low loot servers. I sometimes play on persistent servers to get a more survivalist way of doing things. Persistent servers can have screwed up loot where virtually nothing spawns except in certain areas. If I found these loot explosion areas, I traveled somewhere else so I didn't exploit the bonanza, temping though it was. One of my all time favourite playthroughs was on one of these persistent servers. Its a struggle to find basic equipment for producing your own food, never mind having a backpack full of tins of food. I died a few times trying to survive and had to dump my meager gear in a bush before I went unconscious so I could run back and collect it on a new life. I spawned and searched the coast a little and found nothing much. I occasionally found some beans or bacon in places where people dont usually look (under beds/cars, behind chairs etc), but not enough to survive. I decided to go full survivalist. Picked apples/berries to allow me to travel to the next town. Managed to get myself some rope, fishing hook, shovel and a machete so made bow and a fishing rod and hunted and fished to survive. Also found some wire so set 3 rabbit snares. While the rabbit snares were set and I was waiting to catch one, I planted some tomato seeds then headed to a pond to fish for carp. After I had caught a few, I stalked some nearby animals with my bow. By the time I returned to my snares (2 out of 3 had rabbits after 30-40 mins), I had a backpack full of fish, animal meat and tomatoes. Unfortunately the server disappeared a few days later and has never returned :/

"My leg is in pain" and desaturated screen
BeaverProductions replied to karlkurtz32's topic in General Discussion
You are welcome dude. Glad to be of assistance Ive not made splints from bandages for a while (as it used up the whole bandage) but it should still work with both rags and bandages. Not heard any issues with people using bandages. Glad you managed to get the splint made. It took me a few attempts to get the timing right for making the splint, but once you do it once, it should be easy from there on in. As long as you perform the actions before your fingers are pointing at your head, it should be fine. Try the "continually pressing W" way of doing it next time. Its quicker and safer than forcing your character into a suicide animation. -
You can have as many characters as there are private servers, 1 on each. You can also have a public 3PP character and a public 1PP character (and experimental 1PP and 3PP characters if you want to go down that route).

Best loot run for all new players
BeaverProductions replied to wolf-yiggy's topic in New Player Discussion
There is no such things as a "best loot run". In this sandbox game, one mans "best" loot is another mans awful loot This is probably the "best loot run" for someone looking to get geared in full military gear and automatic weapons. My playstyle mostly revolves around not getting military gear. In fact a personal goal of mine is to kill full military geared folks on sight due to many many attempts to interact with these types getting an AK in the face. I do not KOS any other type of player. The military are usually portrayed as nasty sorts in zombie movies so I also weave this into my justification. For me, the best loot run entirely depends on where I spawn and also depends on what I want to do with that character. Am I going to be a "live of the land survivalist" with bow/fishing rod etc? Am I going to aim for a sniper playstyle? SKS wielding survivor? Am I gathering supplies for a friend who I am meeting up with? -

BeaverProductions replied to karlkurtz32's topic in General Discussion
What do you mean it wont let you splint? There is a bug at the moment which can prevent things like making stone knives, making splints, applying splints, drinking all from a canteen, and many more. There are a couple of solutions. One is to put the splint in your hand, press W and dont let it go, Select the option to splint, continue to press W untill the process is finished. This also works for making splints, stone knives etc. The other way to get around it is as follows: Put the rags in your hand Press F11 Before you put your fingers to your hear in the animation, drag sticks onto the rags and select the make splint option. Now you should have a splint made. Put the splint in your hands Press F11 Before the animation ends, apply the splint on yourself and it should instantly complete the process.
