How do I get to weapon under blue trailer?
BeaverProductions replied to vfxtodd's topic in New Player Discussion
Just for future ref: For items on top of lockers, like boots, you have to remove your currently equipped boots first, then use the dot to take the. Same goes for items in the school under chairs. But I agree there are some items you just cannot take as they are bugged out. Often in the cirrent patches, its a dsybc issue and leaving a building and returning will help. If you drop your weapon in a bush/tree. Chop it down and it will be available. -
What can be done about ghosting on public servers?
BeaverProductions replied to gankaskon's topic in General Discussion
Still struggling to work out your reasoning why its a bad idea. I provided you with a solution to the concern you raised about an innocent bystander being prevented from logging out. To run away a few hundred meters would take seconds Perhaps you are a combat logger or ghoster when you play :P I personally think an extended log in period when switching servers is a good idea, but that unfairly punished people who crashed or their server went down. Sounds of someone logging in or out will harm immersion but perhaps a decent solution, but we already had that and they removed it. -

Don't use my basic understanding of how it may work in practice as gospel. It was just a throwaway comment I heard him make and just something they were considering. For all I know, it might be a 20min log out ban if you are within 200m of there the bullet was shot or where the bullet landed. If you are just a bystander, and if you were to run away for a few hundred meters, you may be able to log out without issue. -

If you already have something in your hands, put it away or drop it and use the dot on the screen to pick up items -

It was during a stream and just one of several possibilites they were thinking about. Why would it be a terrible idea? Interested to hear your reasoning. -

Hicks had mentioned that they were thinking about a system that means you cannot log out if there has been a gun fired with a radius of you (unknown radius, prob 200 to 300m) for X period of time (20-30 mins?). It would mean that you have to fire a gun (perhaps a suppressed pistol to stop unwanted attention) but your prey would not be able to ghost or combat log. -
They will probably be primarily used to get into someones base

Where to go when I first spawn...?
BeaverProductions replied to vfxtodd's topic in New Player Discussion
Guns are generally found in a few building types (Tiny blue and yellow cabins/Piano Houses/Fire stations etc). Ammo can be found in lots of building types, but certain ammo wont spawn in certain areas/types of buildings. Have a look on here http://www.dayzdb.com/mapand use the search option and filter types to narrow down where you are looking for. Click on the coloured shapes on the map and often it will have a picture or description of the house type Search every building you find and you will start to learn where to find stuff and which buildings are not so great. -

It depends on what you want to do. If all you are interested in is finding people to interact with (even if that is getting killed) you should head to Elektro. The best way to work out where you are is to find roadsigns at the edges of towns then use izurvive.com to work out exactly where you are. You can even type in the search of izurvive the best approximation of the Cyrillic letter and it will work out what it should be (e.g. if the sigh has "Г" in it, type R, if it has "И", type N. After you have died plenty times, you will eventually get used to the spawn points and know almost instantly where you have spawned. If you want to meet the most people, anywhere from kamyshovo to Elektro and Cherno is your best place to bump into folks just now, but dont be surprised if you still dont find someone around these parts. If you want to survive for more than 1 hour, you should head inland and start exploring the towns and other places. -
What is your longest recorded shot?
BeaverProductions replied to TheMaxedout's topic in General Discussion
Thanks mate. Yeah I've still to hit a moving target from that range. Fired off about 20 shots from 800m to tripple yellow in Cherno the other day and nothing hit due to the guy was weaving back and forth. Need lots more practice :) -

Here is mine. Ranges around 900m from sniper position (http://www.izurvive.com/#c=-72;-41;7) to kill location (Fire station) at sea level, so I estimate 920m to 950m if you take elevation into account. I wasnt planning on killing the guy but he seemed to want me to do it. Skip to the last 30 seconds if you just want to see the kill -
Im only jesting with you bud :)

So if you spotted someone your telling me you would NOT have taken a pop at them? :P

So much negativity....
BeaverProductions replied to HarryPotter (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Look at you pretending to be all pius after complaining that you should be able to rest your Mosin on a wall :P -
It's an interesting poem, but I think you would be better sticking to a haiku or limerick structure.
-
I read this far then realised you were probably not telling the entire truth: "My friend Brandon was on top of the fire station shooting zombies" It should have read: "My friend Brandon was on top of the fire station shooting anyone he could see" No need to bend the truth when you are in Elektro, its a PVP hell hole and anyone in the city is looking for PVP :)

why doesn't the bipod fit on the mosion?!
BeaverProductions replied to GhostSlayer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Mosin shots around 500m and relatively easy. Its when they get to 900+ that its more challenging. I suspect you are not splinting before settling down to snipe. -
Yeah WOBOs video was experimental. Its often the case that items on experimental never make it to stable for a number of reasons, e.g. the Chainsaw.

Probably because they are not just highlighting code and pressing "Copy>Paste". Game development isnt this simple.

The black on is on my back :) Found at NATO heli crash sites, my heli had a black and tan one along with 2 M4s and an AUG

Mosquito/Nat/Fly Sounds. - TAKE THEM OUT.
BeaverProductions replied to Harmony's topic in General Discussion
I'm guessing everyone here who thinks us folks who have an issue with mosquito audio noises, also think that people looking forward to the new renderer should just shutup and deal with the current one? Do they also think that those who look forward to the new zombie AI should just be quiet and love the current AI? How about all those shitty metal fence ambient noises in the forest, that should just be accepted and dealt with? All the eating clipped bugged sounds are good and doesnt need changed? Should we even have any options to adjust graphical setting? I take it you all think that every setting should be locked on max and screw anyone else with a slightly less powerful PC who cannot run the game? There are loads of graphical options in game, what exactly is wrong with a few audio options? The sound engine is currently being reworked completely and these forums are for expressing opinions on these issues. -
Mosquito/Nat/Fly Sounds. - TAKE THEM OUT.
BeaverProductions replied to Harmony's topic in General Discussion
Did you even read my post above yours? I spent a long time with my mates to try and tweak their setting so the game did not make them feel sick, nothing worked except a higher FOV for them. They don't WANT to have stupid FOV settings, but it lessens the negative effects for them. The primary issue for them was when they went from outdoors to indoors and they felt dizzy and nauseous. Better frame rates in future will help alleviate the symptoms, but please don't talk rubbish about how people who suffer this genuine affliction are just making it all up so they can look over walls easier. Let me help you with a little research : http://lmgtfy.com/?q=motion+sickness+in+video+games -
Mosquito/Nat/Fly Sounds. - TAKE THEM OUT.
BeaverProductions replied to Harmony's topic in General Discussion
In my squad of 6 real life friends, 2 of them have to play the game with the FOV set extremely high or they get dizzy and cant play the game. Even then it can still make their head spin now and again. They are completely fine on other 1PP and 3PP games, so yes it does exist and you have no need to be skeptical. Just because you do not suffer froma condition doesn't mean it does not exist. Makes you sound like an anti-vaxxer. As for mosquito phobias and motion sickness being no way comparable: One triggers a psychological effect which makes the game unpleasant, the other triggers a psychological effect which makes the game unpleasant..so yeah, you cannot compare them at all. -

So motion sickness as a result of the game graphics is "working as intended"...right
