In my group of 6 real life friends, 2 of them suffered motion sickness and had to play on 3PP with the FoV way out. I talked them through all their settings including post processing and headbob. I have been playing FPS shooters with these guys (multiplayer and single player) for 15+ years (HL1 and 2/CS/CZ/CSS/CSGO/L4D2/Far Cry 3/Bioshock) and they haven't had issues in any other games. -

Quite a backwards view on that scenario my friend. I did a bad thing by trying to run him over, but at no point did he tried to communicate with me. Perhaps rightly so, I wouldn't have communicated with an asshole in a truck trying to run me over, either. I dont excuse my initial bad behaviour by trying to run him over. Then once he shot me and knocked me unconscious he didn't "let me live". He failed to double tap as he thought I was already dead. Should I just have let him kill me then? No, I decided to get away. A few hundred meters up the road I pulled over to see if he would chase me down and also to check my bleeding status. He ran the 400m to try and finish me off. He had every opportunity to just run in the opposite direction after I drove away. Should I just have put my hands up and let him try and kill me again? -

Have you tried doing that with a friend close by to replicate your findings and rule out texture/item loading when logging in? I dont think tents are tagged to an individual owner are they?

The devs have said they are developing a way of starting fires without the need for matches. Perhaps you will have to craft a bow drill (might just use the current bow) and collect bark from a tree (already in the game) and use a stick. It will probably take a very long time to light the fire so matches would still be valuable.

Ive not had anything ruined yet, just damaged. Killed in 10 hits? Nasty. Was that with gear or naked? Naked I had legs and arms broken quite easily trying to respawn. The dsync is chronic. Zombies teleporting right next to you like silent ninjas scares the shit out of me :) -

They seem to hit harder when you have more gear on. Ive managed to 1 shot some with a well placed headshot but they seem to always get a hit in on you which often makes you bleed -

Yeah a few well placed punches to the head seems to do the trick and the zeds dont get back up afterwards anymore -

This post is weird. OP has played the game for a whole 3 hours and is complaining about things he has no knowledge about. Sounds like you played the mod, guess what....this is NOT the mod. This is also a game in development so there will be issues. Firstly, you said you joined 5 servers and found nothing. You could have been playing on persistent servers. All the official DayZ servers are persistent I believe, and it doesnnt work properly yet. Best to find a normal server just now until the devs sort out loot spawning/despawning. Nothing wrong with a fire extinguisher, its a great PVP weapon and an ok zed weapon if you can use it properly. It will kill a zed after a couple of well placed hits to the head. So many inaccuracies in this statement. You do not need a weapon to deal with zeds. Punch them in the face and you can kill them easily. Zeds can be shaken, You can often lock them in buildings (dsync permitting) Just keep running out of their line of sight. Through forests are a good place to lose them. Stamina is not in the game and even if you are running in their line of sight, you will outrun them eventually as they often stop for a few seconds. Firsts are fine, I agree with this. The solution to bleeding, is to not get hit. Learn to strafe around zombies and when they do their attack animation. You have plenty time to deal with a zombie while bleeding anyway. Yes they do. Not all medical gear and not all the time, but they do have medical gear. Well D'uh. I haven't seen any AKs in my local firestation. They are usually for responding to emergency calls, not invading small dictatorships. Again, completely untrue. As well as food, they can a host of other loot items including ammo. Good. This isn't a military sim, its a survival game. You shouldn't be shooting zeds anyway. There is far too much ammo in the game as it stands. Again, probably due to the server you joined? Its stupidly easy to find. You might not find the ammo you need, but you will find some in no time in unlooted places (minutes, not hours) Played for 3 hours and says there is nothing to do. So you have made a ghillie suit? Hunted and cooked food? Fished and cooked food? Made a farm? Found every gun? Found a truck? Explored the entire map including all the new places not in the mod? Admittedly we dont have base building and a number of other features in the game yet, but the game is still being developed. One mans bad changes are another mans improvements. The standalone was increased in scope and aim from the mod very early on in its development. If you want to play the mod, play the mod. If you want to play a survival sim in development, play SA. Loot economy is coming soon. Loot tables not that bad now. Military items spawn at military places/vehicles. Civilian items in houses and civilian areas. Currently placeholder and new first iteration of new AI coming in a few days Completely a "learn to play" issue

Yeah Im not keep on this method either for the above reasons (disapearing bags). To make sure the server is in sync with me, I drop a can of food and if it appears next to me, I then drop my bag and transfer, but I always transfer the very important stuff first before switching and transferring the less important items. I once had my entire bag clip inside a car and I couldn't access any of it .

Thanks Ruullor This was just the first tips and tricks video and was just a test to see how it would be received. Should be much more structured and informative from now on as it seems some people might get some help from it. Also going to be covering more advanced topics which Im sure even players with hundreds of hours of playtime will find something new. I've never had a saftey issue with the radio towers before. I think its handled more like a building rather than something like the firestation tower which has stairs and that causes the broken legs. They are my new fav looting spots. Found a Mosin snap loader up there last night. No one ever checks them. -
After a long lonely time looting, I found a truck and drove around most of the map and still didn't see anyone. It was getting towards time to log off so thought I would head to NWAF and see if any I could get involved in some mischief. Was a fun 20 minutes.

I've read about 4 or 5 posts now from you where you are afraid of new zombies with old player detection and old zombie problems. Can I ask, have you seen any of the videos from people testing out the new zombie AI on the experimental servers? Even in the first iteration, zombies dont seem to zero in on you from 1000m like a Exocet missile. Crouching reduces detection even further, They seem quite good for a first iteration.

Ive never had the unfortunate even of the tree falling on top of my gun and it being inaccessible. In my experience the tree doest remain a solid object once its cut down and you can access anything under it. -

We just switched server and the boys instantly spotted someone, and tried to make contact while I was still logging in. Their attempt at being friendly fell upon deaf ears, so I moved up to the hill to offer some over-watch protection.
