    It's only the arrogant nubs that complain and they complain loudly. no matter where you go in the world you will ALWAYS see more people complaining than people giving praise. When people are happy and contempt they usually don't feel the need to express that. On the other hand when people don't like something better watch out because they will climb to the largest mountain and scream at the top of their lungs about everything they don't like no matter how infantile or unnecessary.

    Weapon and other small errors happen all the time, just press okay and continue playing. Heres a link to the beta patches http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php use the newest one it will have more bug fixes than previous builds.

    Is the game and mod fully updated? including the beta patch for arma 2? what method did you use to get the game? Steam, greenman gaming, retail, etc Are you using six updater? To me it sounds like you don't have everything configured correctly so when you log in the game kicks you out due to something not being right.

    Answering your question nothing more, nothing less. You cannot play DayZ with a cracked/pirated copy of Arma 2 for the simple reason that DayZ uses each unique Serial number to tie the account to. You only get one account on DayZ per serial/copy of the game you own. Using the same serial on multiple computers would only provide access to ONE account. that account can not be logged in twice. DayZ uses the serial of the game to log you in, not a username/password set up. So in essence Dayz is tied to only one computer. There is also the extremely high chance all of the cracked version serials have been blacklisted a long time ago.

    Arma 2 doesnt require too much to run http://technodorm.com/2009/07/01/arma-2-system-requirements/ However DayZ on the other hand is an early Alpha mod still needing a lot of optimization. No computer is good enough for this game and everyone will experience some sort of frame drop from time to time. That said, the game is playable with only 15 FPS. Definitely give arma 2 a try and see how it runs

    Firstly This game is in early Alpha and needs optimization badly (which is happening as time goes by) That said, No matter how good your computer is you will still encounter low frames from time to time. and putting settings to LOW is not a good idea, that can actually end up making the game run even worse. I'd let it play out on the default settings and see what frames you get. The game is entirely playable with only 15 frames. You might as well try setting everything to max and see what that gets you.

    Someone Should Gift Me Arma :)

    I want to play but my I already spent my allowance for this month..... First world problems >.> The game is cheap and worth every penny not just for DayZ, but for Arma II itself and all the other mods available, check out project reality lots of fun. haha, Richt3r looks like you may have found a little worker ;) I just about cringed thinking of how much time and effort would be involved in doing those chores all for $20

    I think it's "delayed" because OF rezzed, not for marketing.. Rather people are needed there. If they upload the new patch and there is a major flaw with it no one is around to fix it. Waiting until you have time to do quick fixes is better than a week of a nearly unplayable game.

    Two wrongs do NOT make a right. Accept your fate. Stay logged in, stay vigilant and you might just be quicker on the draw than the supposed ghoster. Or all together don't shoot at him in the first place. Also if you can't take him out in ONE shot.... why the fuck did you even fire?

    This is one of the greatest things I have read in awhile. By removing access to servers that do not follow the strict rules of DayZ is what will inevitably save this mod. This mod DEPENDS on a common and fair playing ground. The game acts as an entire second world which is persistent on each server other than a few minor difference from server to server. Allowing server hosts to do what they want destroys the game plain and simple because it allows them to set up and create a "cheat world" where you log into it and you can get any and every item then log into a different server and abuse it.. Sure there are some legit reasons people would want to keep their own private settings on a server but doing so should instantly make it so the characters created on that server can NOT migrate to any other servers

    Middle of nowhere?

    You have walked to the edge of the map and beyond. Great place to hide vehicles and what not albeit a little hard to get to. Everytime I wander into the wasteland I always imagine getting a bunch of people and having a massive axe fight with about 50 vs 50, each team different mountains and then have everyone rush in on queue and fight to the death in a random valley. It's where I envision DayZ going one day haha

    Unrealistic?

    There are TONS of vehicles in this game, only a few handful are operational all others are destroyed beyond repair. Walk through the towns and open your eyes.. Everything is destroyed and has been raided. This game takes place in a POST apocalyptic zombie world. Finding the bare necessities should be difficult you have to assume people have already been through that town and taken whatever they needed and continued on. You're sorting through their tossed aside crap.... It's why we are surviving on cans of beans and not cans of chicken! all the good shit is gone.

    Do any vehicles spawn with weapon in them?

    Don't feel too bad about stealing from someone's vehicle. They will have likely shot you on site for stumbling into their camp let alone they could have done a better job hiding. Speaking from someone who has had a vehicle with gear stolen it sucks but you get over it real fast. Can't get attached to anything in this game. Everything can be gone in a split second thanks to a bullet to the head.

While that would be nearly impossible for anyone with a life or job it would be interesting to see however the ONLY way I would even attempt to pay any attention to it would be if they set it up so you can NOT respawn. When you die, that's it your off the server for the rest of the marathon. It would bring in more strategy and realism when it comes to having fellow friendlies die.

    Anyone else do this...

    My favorite thing to do, is if shot by someone and I'm crawling away, I'll eat and drop most my gear except what's essential for the final stand. If I win I grab whatever is left under a tree somewhat hidden, If I lose I die with some hope that the bastard doesn't find all my goodies!

    Not only does it need a delay when logging out, But I believe we also need a delay from logging back in. Better stop server hoppers as well (hopping from one server to the next to loot quality gear from the same few spots) If we were to add lets say 10 - 15 minutes from log off to log back in I think that would be sufficient to at least slow that looting exploit

    What is Debug Forest?

    I believe when you first connect to a sever you instantly load into the debug forest while the server waits to receive data from the hive which tells what gear and location you were at when you last logged out. Sometimes glitches happen and you get stuck in the debug forest. The debug forest is located far northwest of the map. If you were able to travel that far you would see people appear and disappear as they get loaded into the server. Allowing you to shoot and kill people as they log in and steal all their gear. Doing so counts as an exploit and you CAN/WILL be banned from doing so. However in normal play it is nothing to worry about.

    Specs - FPS - Please read.

    It's the optimization of the mod that is causing FPS issues, not graphic or other settings. Might as well set everything to high and at least have the game looking fancy.

    Another thing to do while waiting, join a server with sidechat enabled and bullshit with people while starring at either character creation or just the open flatworld of the debug forest

    I'm pretty sure you go south east but it could take awhile to escape might be easier to just respawn

    I don't think they are meant to be in dayZ. Don't think you can find them in loot piles anywhere normally. Probably spawned in by a hacker use them to blow something to hell. Use them for fun, not to advance in the game that would be as if you hacked them in yourself ;)
  25. I do generally try to stay on servers that have it disabled. However I more often than not join the server with lowest ping (makes a huge difference for me to join a server that will be fast and responsive) Like I said If the server has it enabled, I will use it (I don't keep it on all the time) If I need to. But I can easily live without it and I see the huge advantage it gives to people that use it... It's basically playing a game where people set difficulty to normal then you come in and set it to easy for yourself and give yourself a handicap :) I could easily live without it and I would prefer for it to be gone rather than having to watch the server title to see if its enabled or disabled
