    How to sum up Hackers, Cheaters, Exploiters

    No purpose really, I just see more and more threads about bandits and exploiters/hackers making excuses to justify their actions. Those threads are making other people do the same and they end up taking on narcissistic behavior and tendencies in game. Maybe if more people realized they are acting/playing narcissistic in this game they would possibly try to change. Or at least by spread more knowledge of it so other players wont fall into this kind of play style and DayZ can flourish with more trust between players and less shoot on site.
  2. The true darkness in this game is amazing. I can't wait to see all the people start crying when the flashlights require batteries hehe Although because of all the people complaining and the game to find balanced middle ground what I think should be added to the game is the ability to repair power stations/generators and get the street lights in large towns to turn on allow the town streets to be visible. Of course keep the lights in houses off only allow the streetlights so the town only gives the illusion of light. All of this I would suggest keep only in a couple of the large towns in the games.

    Idea: kits/ loadouts

    I would stand by this only if a weapon is NOT an option. rather you start with different supplies maybe a "medic" style loadout would start with 2 bandages and a blood bag... but then blood bags and/or any item givin at spawn would make new characters a target. ... I think I like the current loadout as the starting items are nothing that are worth farming (bandit killing new players to just to horde new spawn items)

    You asked why you shouldn't just shoot on site? I think your little rant answered that yourself. Because you don't like to get shot plain and simple. Nobody wants to be shot. Aside from a handful of trolls and douches not everyone shoots on site. Shooting on site has become more and more common due to these trolls and trust disappearing and people being to lazy to look for gear. With that said I do not shoot on site, because of that I have been shot many times, but way more often than not I make a temporary friends while our paths stay similar because they feel the same way they dont want to get shot and they dont want to shoot someone. Taking that extra second to hesitate on pulling the trigger is what makes this game enjoyable, contemplating consequence and action. If more and more people stop shooting on site, either avoid conflict or try to communicate like you did (you just found assholes) The level of trust will build in the game and community. Of course there will ALWAYS be those people who are just there to grief and ruin someone's day. For every one of those assholes, there are 10 nice players wanting to find a group with a common short term goal.

    There is no "his side" to this, what he is doing is against the rules of hosting a DayZ server server should either be disconnected from the hive or blacklisted
  6. OP Thank you very much for reporting this. I don't understand why people are freaking out when a hack report is filled. You saw what you saw, you got video evidence, and you reported it. I thank you for that. I will avoid that server for the time being. I'm not saying he WAS or WASN'T hacking but there was hacking going on in that server and it needs to be addressed or further looked into.

    I agree with OP, private and password protected servers MUST be disconnected from the hive due to it giving an unfair balance to people who have access to those servers. They could as stated above gear up and server hop

I think having password locked servers is a bad idea as it would allow people to lockdown a server to themselves, travel and gather loot without any danger then hope around server to server griefing going back to their "private" locked down server to restock gear. Everytime I hear about people wanting to lockdown their server for just their friends or clan. Or even people who have a server that is just used to hack on this is what I think of.

For those of you wanting to pay in large numbers of beans you should read this http://www.thesimple...ive-comparison/ Your looking a very expensive game for 150 cans of beans haha Personally I would around $35 for core game and $5 - $7.50 for additional map releases. althrough a one time fee of $40 - $50 would be fine with me once most of the bugs and glitches are ironed out. Or following the minecraft method where the price increases based on how far along development is and eventually reaches the $40 - $50 price point when the game is mostly glitch/bug free That is also to say I would NOT pay for a monthly or yearly subscription. Nor would I do free to play .. I mean pay to win. I'd end up pirating the game and playing on hacked private servers before I would pay a monthly subscription.

    Found a Boat

    Boats are pretty common, not many places to accessibly hide them. Follow the shore all the way around and take a look. I found 3 just heading south from berez Some of them spawn just off shore they can be saved however you can't carry fuel or anything when you swim so you won't be recovering those boats easily

    The biggest thing I take from this is the ONLY legitimate stat on there (I say that because the respawn spamming ruins the other stats). 17% of alive players are bandits. meaning despite what people rage about on the boards less than 1 in 5 people will shoot you on site, I'm also seeing more hesitation in murders which to me is a great thing to see, it shows the gameplay is evolving on it's own.

    Best sidearm?

    I use end up using either the revolver or the M1911. However the revolver is my ultimate preference and will drop the M1911 in a second if it means I get my trusty revolver. I base this decision souly on the range and accuracy of the revolver vs the M1911. The M1911 has a much faster firing rate at semi auto, one more bullet per magazine but when it comes to accuracy the M1911 is all over the place and cannot deliver a non head killshot from more than what seems to be 20 meters. I prefer to have a weapon that is more reliable and will get the job done with a single shot and hit the mark. I noticed my headshot to kill ratio really drops when I get the M1911 vs the Revolver and I miss a lot more with the M1911 at medium range. Another bonus for the revolver... The iron sight on it is unbeatable.

    World too big for own good?

    I honestly think it's way to small based on how fast we move and with our infinite sprint..... The world is 225KM squared.... it's possible to run from one side to the other with little effort and some time.. that should not be possible. Traversing the map should be much harder. player moving speed should be changed or the map should be increased in size. I know the map wont be changed bigger or smaller simply because the map is NOT made by DazyZ team, it's an original map from Arma II. I would love if the world map felt like a real country sized world, and not a half decent urban city size

    Headshots Required To Kill Zeds

    I vote yes for sure! It would make EVERYONE a lot more cautious even the bandits and player killers. No one would want to fire a gun unless it was an emergency or they would attract more zeds. I tend to use a one hit kill gun, and well over half my kills are always headshots it's not difficult to aim. The only addition I would add would be that not hittin the head would slow the Zed down. Such shoot the leg to force him to hop, shoot the other leg to force him to crawl, shoot the chest to slow their speed slightly with each shot. It should be if you shoot a zombie enough times without killing it, they should have to walk no matter where they are. Meaning each bullet they take makes it slightly easier to get that headshot or run away

    The map itself is hosted for free use, I would simply be re-inbursing you for your troubles and cost of doing the work heh. Also you may want to hold out for the next version, reading the log with the torrent, the next version will be visually better.

    Wow thank you, I recently did just that, found but only found a medium rez copy and printed it out to be 3x2.... And super jelous that you have access to one of those printers... Think I could front you some money and you mail me one? ;) assuming you wouldn't get trouble from work.
  18. Sounds like an exploit to me, they are reaching their arms THROUGH WALLS! and floors. Hopefully there will be a way to fix that, as doing so is just a very dirty way of playing. It's probably based on the same code which allows zombies to attack people through walls. (although zombies attacking through walls to me is a feature not a bug, all classic horror movies had monsters punching their arms through walls to try and grab people hiding)
  19. Very Nice agree this would be helpful. We could also get little icons for other toggle settings, also let you know if you are crouched, prone, standing, and if you're looking down the barrel of your weapon with iron site. (sometimes I have found I get stuck walking due to an item like the hatchet not noticeable when right clicked)

    I've noticed the same thing since yesterday. probably a server error I'm sure it will be fixed soon enough. You can always use a previous Beta build.
  21. I watched their videos on youtube, and the only gripe I have with it is that they are essentially exploiting the game with the help of a server admin. They appear to be "givin" gear I'm assuming spawned in gear. They are playing on a private and/or locked server. Sure, they may not be using this for "evil" purposes but they easily and accidentally could by logging into a different server with their illegitimate gear. They may as well log into a full server and spawn in a few weapon crates to get all the gear they need. This game relies on a level playing field while it may be broken at the moment due to disconnects and server hopping. This kind of exploiting should not be tolerated. If the server is connected to the hive I would like to see the server admin's server blocked, and or banned for misuse and abuse of this mod. However All would be fine and well IF they can prove that the server they are using is NOT connected to the hive and therefore does not have any way to exploit weapons and gear into legit real servers. Once it has been proven and shown that they are not connected to the server hive they could do anything they want as it wouldn't affect player stats nor would it allow them to transport their items between servers

    Respawn > are you sure? option

    After Accidentally killing my character a second ago I feel that the game NEEDS a secondary option after pressing respawn. I tried to access the options menu and accidentally pressed respawn and killed my player instantly.. good bye awesome gear. I feel that having a small dialog box pop up once you press respawn saying "Are you sure you would like to suicide" "yes" or "no" Would save a lot of people that accidentally press it.
