Anyone ever played beyond DayZ? And tryed ACE? It's a mod for ARMA II, and one of the features is, that after firing a belt of a M240(alot of others ofcourse) for example, you'll hear a ring in your ears, like grenades in normal arma. If you keep on firing, you'll go deaf. for ever untill you die. there is a method to stop this, by plugging in Earplugs. that will keep you from getting deaf from (heavy)gunnery. and btw I shouldn't think that hand guns could damage your ears so soon.. with a LMG you can get it in a few secs, with a handgun you should start talking about months maybe years, unless you aren't using you're average handgun ofcourse, ;) .357 or desert eagle. Could be an idea, Earplugs to prevent ear damage eh. -

I hope atleast somebody of the dev team could just say something, really just something. Even a yes or no would be great to the question "this year?". Would please alot of us who can't wait to join in on the SA. Any other more detailed answers would be much appreciated but I'm not demanding anything, like I read/written/said before, better start out good. Don't rush, alot of games with alot of potential got rushed because of overlyhyped media/fans who wanted it NOW. Said to my friends, "I'm not playing until SA, getting tired hackerscheatersbugszombiefails rocks"- but everytime I've found my self playing the mod again. Lol. I would be upset yeah if It would be released in june or so, but by the time it's end January (if it's not released yet) I bet everybody will forget this thread and won't be so stressed out about when it's going to be released. they will forget about decemeber. It would be a good thing and a bad. you'll get alot of weight of your shoulders, but maybe less buyers.. at the start. Personally I think you guys, the dev team, shouldn't be afraid of failing, even if it does got a little bug in it the first release, what gives?! Been playing an AWESOME mod the last months, who is actually, riddled with bugs and still REALLY fun to play. Alot of my other friends who didn't want to buy ARMA for it, said "I'm waiting for the standalone" And I hearded it quite alot among not playing, but wanting TO play people. So.. nothing to worry about lads, you've got a great community supporting whatever you do! I hope somebody just could say something or whatever, Really don't care if the game comes tommorrow or when I've grandchilderen on my lap, but some information could never harm, could it? cheers -

Its really worth it to buy ARMA II, not only for The DayZ mod. It's not a Shooter anymore, it's a simulator lol. Real awesome game. -

Server restarted/crashed while I was in a Helicopter! What now?

Hello I found my self flying over the Sea, and all of the sudden I get the No message recived error. After 2-5 MIN I logged back in, and I died, and the helicopter exploded on the water. What should I do? Should I contact an admin? When does it respawn? Anything else? Please help me :o -

Nah Its private. But I dont have any ways to contact the Admin. They dont have a TS or a website, and Side Channel is disabled. But what if its 7 days- Will it respawn on the spawn locatian or at the place it crashed?(middle of the ocean) -

Yes. Thats right. IR Fucking Strobes. Wouldn't it be great to mark something by shooting a IR Strobe, so you see them on your night vision? To mark possible threats, or otherwise, to mark your team. Leave a feedback what you think :)

Pfff Having some issues? Reading all the optimizing guides? And you only got 10 frames back?! Read this! I got the same problem until now. In Singleplayer I play maxed out with 50-60 FPS, but DayZ 12-20 (Varies per server) What I did? Simple. Go to you're arma2OAprofile. Mostly located it in My Documents. And find this line ( Control+F ) sceneComplexity=150000; if you make it Lower, Like 75000 or 100000 it will load items, buildings grass tree's who are 75000 close to you. Instead of 150.000. You should tweak the value's until its perfect for you. If you enter a too low value, other players can only apear from short distances, and that sucks. I find my self playing a good enough 20-30 frames. I know its all a server sided problem the lagg, but this helped for me. Rocket Please fix the optimizing :( Feedback would be nice, comment so other players with issue's see this thread! -

We weren't talkin about bloody view distance man, jezus learn to read before to speak? trying to get ur postcount up?-__- Edit : for you folks out there who never had an english book infront of their noses : What I tryin' to tell is : Changing sceneComplexity=150000; to a lower value like 100.000, has nothing to do with "changing view distance" Please, Please read before going into full retard mode -

Its not true man.. you can see waaaaaaaay more then only 100 meters with 100.000.. and if you zoom u see like 150m.. please don't lie :s -

I totally agree. But playing with 10 frames is harder. and 100.000 is a reasonable value mate. but yes if you would use this, your sight is limited on buildings and the other player may have an upperhand on the battle -

so what its low-reso? its bout the gameplay mate, and I don't care If I can't see all the bricks perfectly from a house which is 300 meters away from me, it solved all my lagg isues and I can play normally. Sometimes you should not care about the quality for one time. And if you use the zoom/binoculars u can easily look into a window. -

I was on top of the outer firedepot tower of electro, and I could see all the buildings 'til the port. And I got 15+ FPS. -
I was watching this new video of SeaNanners ( ) and they were busy harvesting some woood.. but they were suprised the tree didn't fell down. Should be a great idea if u harvest wood that the tree will fall down. In arma II vanila you can destroy tree's so it won't be so hard to do I think :D- vincenzo
