    Some thoughts after 12 hours

    After roughly my first 12 hours... I have played the predecessors, and this is an improvement. However, there is obviously a lot to be done. I will start with my overarching thought, which is that there needs to be some sort of incentive to living where there is not now. Currently, most servers are running a 24/7 daylight gank fest setup with frequent restarts. Clearly this does not provide any incentive to do anything but KoS other players... and what do you do once you have everything you need? -kill yourself? -hunt people? This might be ok if there were significantly more than 40 players per server, but while this would be more fun it would shift away from realism and would change the game entirely. Persistence is the only thing that would incentivize living - to build something that wouldn't just wipe in an hour or two. I wouldn't be opposed to some kind of meta-game as well; even though that would "break the wall" in terms of realism, it would certainly be more engaging in the long term. Another (obvious) thought is to include party system, and im sure hundreds have suggested that. I would like to see the fall damage threshold raised slightly, because I don't see why a man can't jump down 6-8 feet with ease. I would also include many more zombies. There is a significant derth of zombie. The game is too easy and thusly boring, so it becomes a game about hunting other humans. I may edit as I remember certain other thoughts. Please comment, I'm just getting into the forums so I'll try to do the same. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ <Things Added> *Why cant I crawl up stairs? *It rains entirely too much, especially if you plan to implement a negative effect per the health system. *More ways to kill myself please, if you get stranded out somewhere it is quite a long wait to starve. *Vicinity search should be larger, I often cant reach something on a dresser for instance and vicinity cant either. *PLEASE fix the glitch whereby I hear zombies growling and coke cans opening randomly etc. -asap. *Buttons are often unresponsive, and take several attempts to utilize *I just picked up a Sickle (double click/drag didn't work, I had to option it into my hands) It does no damage to zombies at all, and now I can't put it down. *holding shift in water actually makes you go slower, also why can't I dive or drown? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This game has huge potential, and it would be nice to see it reached.     What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

    @BEdev-Sable clearly you guys aren't very effective, because I've only owned the game 3 days and although I started to enjoy it and had resolved to help development, I am feeling ripped off and am completely turned off by getting "black chick server wiped" twice in 2 hours on different servers. there is absolutely no point to playing because once you get gear, a hacker will log on to the server and wipe it entirely. aimbot is one thing... but this is another. IMO don't quit your day job.

    I'm not sure you understood my post. I enjoy killing and being killed. I was discussing the incentives and game design. IMO there should be a much higher max players and more cities.

    Honestly 40 should be considered low pop given the size of the map.
