"Hammer"? W t F Dude just use a "strategically placed, piece of folded paper". Just stick it in the space above "W" and under "2 & 3", make sure you don't have anything in the 2 & 3 hot key spots. I use this all the time on long runs, so I can manage my items or whatever else (like eating dinner)

Different server hives, but not possible to differ between them?
call him Steve replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in General Discussion
Make sure to stick to One server provider (ie villager, gameserver, or how ever they are spelled). Each server provider may or may NOT wipe the old character, even if it's the same type (1st person, 1st/3rd person). You should stay in the official servers that have all the info in their title, and stay away from the personalized title ones, at least until you know which ones you can travel to with out a wipe. -
HA, ha, ha! ME too, brother!!!!!

This was NOT a hack, if you jump into/onto the trunk (with it closed I think) and then kneel down, you can get in. This was a great find, NICE!

Do we really need more zombies?
call him Steve replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
Just as long as the Z's start working correctly (ie fix the super hearing/sight) and can sneak around properly, it will be FUN. But when they see you from in the middle of town and come running over 500m away as you come down the mountain and still in the tree line, it's just a pain in the @ss. But the more the merrier, dodging, grabbing, and what ever else would be great. Making the looting more of a choir and not so easy is a MUST. This should be an item, I would carry it just for luck!!! POLL: How happy are you with the buildings and map?
call him Steve replied to ColonelBurton's topic in General Discussion
This game has the BEST map ever, but yes the buildings need some more options. Like when I first started this game I searched every one of them because I didn't know what was were. But now I know by looking at them if its worth the loot inside to stop and simply changing the loot spots isn't enough. Different villages should have different styles/colors, there should not be both the "red" and "green" houses in every town right next to one another. -
YES YES YES It is what we need to "flush" out the stair/door camping people. As long as it takes to go from full to hungry, half that amount of time to go to the bathroom.

Do those underground bunkers still trap you inside the death pit?

Some how I don't believe you. Call me crazy -
So I came across 6 backpacks all filled with duped gear. They all had container boxes, food, rags, and all the M4 ammo you would need to take over the world along with double clips to go with them. Now my question is, 1- do I AX the sh!t out of this stuff and ruin every last piece, 2- do I grab as much stuff that I find useful (I have no need for M4 equipment) like the boxes and a better MT pack and then ruin the rest, or 3- do I just leave it be and move on with MY game? I will leave this server and NEVER play on it again afterwards. Now what I want to do is number 2 but what is YOUR opinion?
-
Don't know, Don't care! But it is all ruined. Had to spread it all out, and chop it up into little pieces. Of the stuff I did keep, a few cases with food and rags, I gave out to new spawns. Then I got picked off outside Cherno by a sniper, who wouldn't let me get the gear back as a new spawn myself. OH well I helped out a little bit, I hope.
-
I only wish they had a 'nade in there! But it took some doing to hack it all up, after that I let in a few Z's (6) and locked them in with the packs.

Since the addition of F11 killing yourself action, that's how you need to start any action. F11 with the correct tool (ie knife, rags, ect) and scroll wheel down to skin animal, make splint, use splint, and others

So, can someone explain how exactly THIS little thing makes sense?
call him Steve replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
You must drink at pond/well until you through up to fix it -
The most of the players want interactions for good or bad, so staying on the coast offers that. The map IS so big and the player max population is SO low, you won't find anyone in the random cities in land. There are more than 50 towns/cities/castles/bases and ONLY 50 people to run around in them. If there was some plus side to teaming up with anyone that may help move people in land, but until then the coast is all the action there is. It is a shame the towns in the way north west are so nice, they look as if they have been abandoned for some time. Not like the clean streets of the coastal towns. But on a 46/50 server, a long run from up there down to NWAF continue down to Cherno over to Electro and around up to Berzino and finally ending up at Svet with only 3 people seen or talked with, I just don't know . Looting is fun enough but the player/player interactions are what make this game.

I ran into a dude that was cool in Berizino, we looted up a little before running up to the ship wreck in the hopes of find him a backpack. We got one, ate some rice, and then tried to plan out the next move. Now I am knowledgeable about most of the town names and distances/time needed to get to them. But this guy was unsure of everything, talking about mil bases "close by" and the routes to get to them(we are at the ship wreck). He lost some gear while on the ship and we had to have it before we go. "We just need to go to the big town up North" he said. Now I had been playing for a few hours and about to check out. So this newbie is rubbing me the wrong way now, "the town up North" do you mean Novo or Svet? And Mil bases are 1/2 hour run or more from where we are. So.... I made the move while he drank some water, after eating MY rice, and going on about some dumb route he made to "the big town up North" Bang, Bang, bullets in his eye ball. Kinda Sorry, but then again no I'm not. I am now an @sshole and I will kill my character to start over
-
Yes, people YES. The guilt is painful and The Tomato Dealer is a fine idea. But I've already killed my guy, a few times, and have decided not to carry a gun for at least four deaths from other players. Am I wrong, in thinking that trust is something everyone needs to learn about in DayZ? I like to think I helped this poor dude out with that. I mean he had nothing but a .22 with a few rounds, so no big loss on his end, right? However this was, for me, just another experience in the wonderful life of DayZ. Now moving on with making up for the asshattery. Thank you guys for letting me vent!

What's up with the loot in Third person?
call him Steve replied to shokaloop's topic in General Discussion
As you said all the PvP'ers are going to the those towns and eating up all the loot. Try going to the inland locations to gear up, you might find a truck to get back in. -

Come on man. It's not going to be THAT easy. Happy Hunting! -
The trick was being on a private server. You cheated! LoL

Sorry that sucks, dude.

Improvement Ideas: Amputation and Medicine
call him Steve replied to Rucki's topic in General Discussion
This game is so far out from have the ability to cut off arms/legs. I would rather have beards before amputations. It's just a difficult idea to put in game for 100,000's of people, each having different body limbs missing or not. But the facial hair seems less hard, being that you don't interact with ANYTHING using your face. -
Killing players while they're logging in / out
call him Steve replied to 100ftjesus's topic in General Discussion
I think it's fair game if it's a "server hopper". You know the guys in the ATC buildings under the stairs or in one of the rooms in police stations, just plainly obvious about getting cheap gear. They need to be "helped out" in picking a better spot to log out from. -
Ha ha ha, True, true, oh so true :(
-
Loot locations have changed a little bit, and EVERYONE wants an Ax. So you may have to run around all the industrial areas and/or server hop (which is frowned upon).

These are two different games, SO....
