.55 loot, I'll just leave it at this.

This is what EVERYONE says!!! I will bet PlasticAssasin will KOS if he has a tricked out AK, with all the bells and whistles for it, and a pack worth of good stuff. No time to talk with anyone, when YOU have something they want. And then he will get on these forums to hate people for playing this game their own way.

    Tuesday care packages for freshies.

Hey this actually sounds like a good plan for the tent. I haven't had a tent for a while because it has no point until the wipes stop, I would forget tot recover it on Tuesday and after two or three wipes just gave up on them. But this is a good idea, Mt pack all the loot I can down to where ever and store the tent. Freebies for all who read these forums. I may need to get a tent now, Thank You for the idea. +1 BEANS

    Crafted Leather cloths

By the time I get a gun and ammo to kill a boar, deer, or what ever, I found a rain coat and a dry bag. So I lose interest in going through all the work to "make" my own stuff. Obv. I have not make any leathers yet. I was wondering, are they are water proof? Will I be dry with them?

    Cheerleader outfit

We need cheerleader outfits with pom-poms. I would love to run up on someone in the school and give them a song and dance. Punching wildly in the air with the pom-poms, vaulting, and falling to floor. All the while chatting something like, "Murder, death, kill. Find an Ax and split some heads. Use you gun and blast em in the face" I am sure you people could come up with better stuff than me but you get the idea.
  13. Agreed, just to fast to be able to respawn.

    Odd Zombie Behaviour

ha ha ha That was one smart cow! I have seen the Z's chasing the wildlife but, never seen the animal fear for it's life. I would have been laughing for a while after that, NICE.

    Great Karma

Those stun batons and cattle prods have VERY few hits in them, like two or three hits before they are dead (pristine battery). But I like the stab move for them, more accurate than swinging the ax or sledge hammer.

    0.53 Tent Persistence.

Well as I understand it, the packs on the ground will stay there for the three hours, or so, until it is recycled back into the server. Don't think that has changed but I am waiting on one this morning to see.

some weird things with the compass

Ha ha ha I was trying to use a compass to get around inland, I was close to N W Airfield, and by not using any roads. It didn't work out for me, thought I was heading to Svet, N E Airfield area. I actually ended up at the Rog Castle near Wobo in the south. I don't remember if the compass was Pristine or not, it was during .47 update or sometime there about, but I just gave up on the thing and just learned the map by land marks

Wait for host and other server crashes

The same has been happening to me. I have not played because of that, it is so frustrating to be running around only to have the game crash every 15 min. or so. Just praying the next update eases the frequency of the drops.

Just returned after almost a year...

Just over a year ago, Bohemia Interactive released DayZ on Steam Early Access. Yesterday DayZ achieved 3,000,000 sales. This is the standalone version of the extremely popular Arma 2 modification created by Dean Hall, that has started and defined an entire genre of video gaming and inspired many other games studios. From the beginning of the DayZ Early Access program, the DayZ team has continued to update the game on a regular basis. Since the initial release the team has released 24 updates to the main public branch of the game. These updates have been focused on improving DayZ, and have included core redesigns of some of the most significant features including the inventory, multiplayer architecture and map improvements. As the DayZ team outlined in their development plan for 2015, there are many more large improvements in the pipeline, such as the transition to an improved anti-cheat system and multiplayer optimizations. One of the largest changes that the DayZ team began in 2014 was to rewrite the core engine. Improving the engine will have significant long term benefits to DayZ and all of DayZ's 3,000,000 players. The name of the new engine is Enfusion. The main benefits to reinventing the core engine are in the upgrades to the renderer, as this will enhance performance for players, and also vastly improve the visual aesthetics of particle effects. In the long run these improvements to the engine will enable DayZ to utilize DirectX 11, which will further enhance the experience of console versions of DayZ. Enfusion will also bring upgraded tools for both the DayZ team and content creators, improving the efficiency of creating official content and modifications. Currently DayZ is still mostly using the Real Virtuality engine, however throughout 2015 DayZ will progressively switch to utilizing Enfusion to a greater extent. All of these improvements have been possible due to the expansion of the DayZ team to over 80 people. This expansion allows the project to take on these greater challenges and increase the tempo of development in 2015, bringing more quality updates to DayZ's 3,000,000 players. David Durcak the project lead of DayZ had this to say about the amazing milestone: "We would like to say thank you to every single one of the three million players, that have joined us on the journey of making DayZ. You all have helped make DayZ the best open world, zombie survival game. This is an amazing achievement, and we are really looking forward to start sharing with you all of our game design improvements, anti-hack solutions and other optimizations we have been working on for a majority of the last year."

Who decided to make hacksaw's so rare?

All of the loot spawns have been changed, so like everyone is saying, "You just have to look in the correct spots."

    The reason behind KoS: ?

Well I don't know about the community as a whole, but KOS is the only thing to do right now. The gear is good, player interaction is good, but desync is F@cked up (player side/server side). Trying to shoot down a player while experiencing desync is hard, so interacting and then engaging in a fire fight is almost impossible. It seems to me that shooting first, before letting them know they are in danger, is the easy thing to do. That being said, I never Kill on Sight there is NO fun in it. However getting in to a battle with hostiles is enjoyable, no other GAME out there gets my blood pumping like that. Part of it has to do with Player Interaction. I don't need to talk first, but a hostile player can be spotted before they are an issue. Now just shooting anything moving from a sniper spot or stair/door camping seems BORING and not fun.

    EXP server on or off?

So it is OFF... for ever? NO, just for NOW. Thought someone should expand on that a little bit. LoL
