  1. Is a nice idea with or without 3rd person view ;-)
  2. I know what it means. It's a german word and I am german. That was why I was confused to read this word. So I think there is no english word for this, right? ;-)

    Lets discuss misclick experiences

Never shot a mate... but my mate and I learned painfully it's dangerous if two players want to axe a zombie the same time. ;-)
  4. When I started to play dayz i tried both of it and decided in the end that I like the 3rd person view more. Think I played to much RPGs during the last years so I am accustomed to the 3rd Person view. And for me dayz is not a shooter, it's more like a RPG. And 1st person view always reminds me of shooters. I also enjoy the see my character ingame. So call me noob, say I don't have skill or whatever, I don't mind. Look there are softcore servers and hardcore servers. If you don't like to play with players that use 3rd person view, than play hardcore servers. And yes, maybe there a not much of them. But that may have a reason and says that the majority of the players like to play 3rdPV or don't mind if the other players use it. So why should the view be changed to what the minority thinks is better? btw: I'm a little confused... do you really use this word? Is there no Translation to english? :-)

    How do you bandit?

I actually never bandit because... i can't... robbing another player even in a game like this makes me have a guilty conscience. No joke. So I stay in the role I am able to play: Mr. Nice Guy. And that of course makes me the perfect victim for all kinds of bandits. And I really like roleplaying bandits... as long as the roleplaying is more than just "Put your Hands up." - You are dead. Then I can even enjoy being a victim and even to die in the end, if I get for a knive or machete after being robbed and try to take my revenge or stuff back. ;-)

    Worst. Bandit. Ever!

Mh... this bandit reminds me of myself... badass military clothing... scary weapons... a backpack full of good stuff... and sucking at shooting. But the difference is I don't play as bandit and try to kill everybody. :P nice intro btw. :-)

pookie was bad now is good person

Enjoyed the story and yeah... to be honest... until now I've never killed somebody without a reason like he attacked me or pointed his gun in my face... for sure I'm not born to be a Bandit :D

    What if...

With this I fully agree. I hope an actually driving car will be a rare thing. I don't want to think about 40 players with 40 cars on the map...
  9. Maybe you can use the word from "Pirates of the Caribbean" --> parley, which seems to be borrowed from the french word "parlez", that means "to speak". :D
  10. I like the french language too, sounds very nice. I'm living next to the french border (15 min. by car), but I can't merely speak french. But I have luck, because most of the french livinig next to the border speak german (may be because some 70 years ago this part of france was german... eh, but about that nobody in germany want to speak today ;-) ). If I meet a french guy ingame I say: Ne tirez pas. Je suis gentile. Je ne parle pas francais. (= Do not shoot. I'm friendly. I don't speak french. :P )
  11. I think that's a decision everybody is able to make for him-/herself. I don't like casual players who "demand" to have all stuff and items like a player who invests a lot of time... but I also don't like the Players who think the game is only for hardcore players (like themself) and the casual gamers are kind of dumb just because they don't want or aren't able to invest more time. (no offense to you, just wanted to say that ;-) )

    How was your Day(Z)?

Dear diary, today it was my turn to see for some food for the group again. I decided to go fishing, because I can't eat this steaks anymore. I went to the small village near the camp. There you can always find good stuff. And really, after a short time I was the owner of a fishing rod. It was easier than I thought. I was so happy. Until I realized that I don't have a bait. I searched the meadows and woods for nearly a hour. But I wasn't able to finde one. I even broke my new fishing rod in anger... so another day with boar steaks. Maybe next time. (Wanted to fish, wasn't able to finde a shovel, :P )
  13. Basically right. But you can use the nighttime for advantage if you are sneaking. You can hide in places other people would see you while daytime. With the right clothing (and the right terrain) you can lying flat and another person will walk by a few feet / meters away from you without noticing. Means: You can see them, but they can't see you. ;-)
  14. I think you two speak of different things. It's not a question how the armor works it's more the question if it should be implemented and why. Because (how the OP said) the core gameplay of a survival game is to fear for your life. And surviving 2-3 shots from an enemys gun is quiet much in a gunfight. It influences the balance. ;-)
  15. Then prepare for me threads like this, when the player you've hit 2 times in the chest still is able to get away. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/210424-the-war-on-snipers/ ;)
  16. Yes, but (if the plate carrier works) you can react after you are hidden. Think everybody knows this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQi7iknSKy0
  17. As long as they don't wear kevlar bandit masks it should still work if you shoot the face. :P But seriously I agree with you. It's the feeling to be vulnerable that makes the game this much intense. So I also don't like the idea of plate carriers and body armor.

Lets post some screen shots (Standalone)

Enjoying some nice boar and deer steaks after a days work was done... Pictures where just before one of us threw some ammunition into the fire and because nobody knew if it evt. gonna kill us everyone ran for safety. :D
  19. Ok let me resume. You have never ever met friendly players on a military base. But I have. When I think about why you haven't and I have... it comes to my mind that the constant in your experiences and my experiences are you and me. Mh... brings me to: it your own fault. Or to say in an easier way: Of course you will never meet a friendly player there, if you shoot them before you know, if they are friendly... like the drinking guy... :D btw. brings me to another point: maybe not you kos-killers are the tough persons, because you kill in fear to be killed... maybe the players like me me who speak first and risk to be shot or cheated are the tough ones. Sounds logical, not? lol

    Why does everyone kill me?!

Yes, but I don't think you can carry over the behaviour 1:1 to real life. Sure people would kill for food, if they don't have, but I don't think they would just kill for no reason or "fun". So there's still a difference between a game and real life. And not to forget in real life there IS a consequence, when you attack somebody and get a bullet in your leg or break your arm while fighting. It's not like "let's start new, the last try to get food went wrong". ;-)

    Beware of TKTSO Bug (maybe).

I've been wearing 1 piece of the TTsKO clothing (jacket or pants) most of the last time and never had any problems. Wheter with server new start nor with log out. --> the characters I played with the last days: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/185071-post-your-gear-so-far/?p=2107492

    Why does everyone kill me?!

Mh... and that you know from experiences of the last few apocalypses we had lately? :P
  23. I spent 30 bucks and got (until now) >50 hours fun. Compared to a lot of other things (f. e. think about cinema) it's a real good cost-benefit ratio. :D

    The 'war on snipers'

Yeah, good old times. The first MMORPG I was playing had absolutely no description of the effect of items ingame. So I had printed descriptions of every item ingame next to the PC. And additional descriptions of the quests because of no questlog or something like that. Don't know how many papers it have been. :D
