Yeah, I know where to find them... I also got a pristine LRS and even a grass wrap is in my bag... but the mosins won't spawn for me... searched 3 days in a row (only civilian buildings, not Military) but always only SKS and carbines. At least I will be very happy, when I finally found the mosin. :-)
-
My "hardcore" character... trying to survive without military loot... never been to a military base... didn't find a mosin yet...
-
Found dozens of carbines and SKS and sporters... but no mosins. Grrrr... I want my mosin! :P
-
Very great story. I really admire your patience... I think I wouldn't have stayed 40 minutes. ^^

Binoculars - "Secret / easter egg" found?
dirrly replied to johnny0964 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Found this: http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?27477-Guide-to-Russian-Optics-Manufacturers Looks pretty the same. ^^ -
A fire would help... but to light it you need matches, all the other things you need you have. Rightclick your clothes if you can wring them out... ;-)
-
Wasn't all that voluntary... a bugged zombie ruined my jacket and the next jacket I found that helps against rain was this orange one. So I took it... ;-)
-
Right. :-) But I want to see more different civilian clothes in the future (yes there are sure more important things to do).

Must be this way. I really don't have any problems with cold as long as I stay dry. And even soaked a fire and to wring out my clothes helps. -
Looks like a really nice place for recovering after a hard zombie day :P
-
I would already be glad with a PSO1-Scope... but good luck for your search.. ;) Today I wanted some more color, because the sky was grey and it has been raining all the time... ;-)

Would it be the southern part of germany instead of cheranrus, you could find a lot ghillie suits... LOL :D (it's a carnival costume of the traditional south german carnival ^^)
-
this! :-)

What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?
dirrly replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I absolutely agree. We need much more civilian clothing! I wouldn't wear military/hunting style all the time, if there were more good looking combinations (pants/jacket) of civilian clothing. :-) -
Tja, solche Idioten gibt's halt. ;-)

Sad for you, but a nice video though. ;-) That's the worst kind of players you can meet. Pretend to be friendly and then betray. It's always said and in 75% it's right. But there actually are friendly People at military bases. And no I don't speak only of myself. :D
-
That's ok... but it's more difficult in reality. Yesterday I was at a military base. Walked out of a barrack, when I noticed another player. I didn't want trouble so I searched for a place to hide and went into a garage, pointing my gun towards the entrance and waited. A short time later someone entered the garage. Now you have just 2 options. Shoot or don't shoot. Each of it can be wrong or right. I decided to shoot not and yelled "friendly". The other player had his gun in Hands, but not pointed at me and answered also "friendly". I said that I will lower my weapon too, what I did. Seconds later his 3 friends also entered the garage. He said to them that I am ok and we talked a short time. They asked me to join them, because they searched only specific items in the Military buildings and would let me the rest if I want it. So I did. This time my decision was right. Because I survived, would I have shot the first guy, it would have been difficult to kill 3 more or to flee. Next time it could be the wrong decision. Eeehm, what I wanted to say. Acting not (in this case shooting not) doesn't mean I didn't have the fate in my own hands. ;-)

I took out two heavily armed guys with my firefighter axe!
dirrly replied to BaBooN671's topic in New Player Discussion
to be honest, i never threw a grenade... I found a flashbang and wanted to test it, but that was just a few minutes before I was killed, so my flashbang was gone... just heard it on TS3, that they wondered the grenade didn't explode ;-) -
Temperature effects are broken since hotfix
dirrly replied to ColonelBurton's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't say its completely broken. Maybe it's bugged at the moment. ;-) As I said in a post before on sunday i weared a vest + jacket and both items broke because of an axe hit (--> ruined). From this time on I got the messages "I'm slowly...". Before I was full geared and got no messages. So that seemed to me working as intended. Yesterday after the patch it was a little chaotic, cooling off, waruming up, cooling off, warming up... but I never got the yellow cold state in the character sheet. Nonetheless it worked (for me) fine the days before. So not broken... just some kind of bug to fix. -

No offense to you, but this just came into my mind... I think it's funny, that people complain about freezing to death within 15 minutes because it is not realistic, but don't complain about morphine fixing a broken leg forever or using a ragged t-shirt to "heal" a shot to the chest. ^^ -

I don't have valid numbers to state what I say... but a few days ago (sunday I think) a friend hit me with a firefighter axe, when he wanted to kill a zombie, causing my vest and jacket go to ruined (before: vest = worn, jacket = pristine). I nearly instant got the message, that I am slowly cooling down. Before were no messages as my temperature seemed to be fine. So I think there is a difference. -

Seems this is no feature, it's a bug. ^^ (look at the first post here in the thread or here: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=17333#bugnotes ) -
Temperature effects are broken since hotfix
dirrly replied to ColonelBurton's topic in General Discussion
Don't get me wrong. I understand your suggestion. But I don't see the purpose of it. At the moment you have to keep looking for a jacket and fire on your mind right from the start. And I like it, that temperature is a threat to you life right from the start. It would be more realistic the way you say, I aggree. But also more survivable... aka more... sorry... easy. For me it is fine the way it is with a cold temperature even if the temperature is not realistic and doesn't fit to the environment. I think running should affect body temperature. And hyperthermia needs a rework, as I never had a problem with that until now. -

Yeah, but that was not the main issue of my post, you know? But to be honest: "A sweatshirt and pants should see you through a sunny day fine,..." = surviving (the temperature) easily because I have warm enough clothes. -

There's realism on one hand... the game how the devs want it on the other. About realism you may be right with the things you point out (ponds and plants and so on)... but I personally don't appreciate realism over the game mechanics. I can live (and die, hehe) with the fact, that the temperature don't fit the environment. I think temperature should be a threat to your life. And to survive easily just with a sweatshirt and pants is the wrong way for the game, how it should be in my mind.
