Just stated thats what I used to do, obviously it is nowhere near as "safe" as it was before.

I play on servers with more than 25 people, not saying you do not. But in the past two days I have always been killed within 10 minutes near the cost, be it running away from it or along it.

Oh I expect to lose my gear. My last time alive I survived for 32 days and died because of the artifact glitch and I couldnt see the guy. Im not mad, and will truck on... although I am getting tired of the loading screen xD

There is also a very distinguishing aspect you are forgetting: viewers. In Hollywood they need to make you feel something for the character/characters, so you can not kill of the main characters (most of the time). In a video game they need to appeal to what people enjoy, and a great amount of people play multiplayer games to establish dominance over another player. -

Those shows are often about 1 group of people or 1 person, and in 3/4 of your examples (not sure about Shaun of the Dead) they come across people who try to kill them. -
That is actually a good idea, sacrifice space for safety. Would actually feel like it belongs in the game.

I know this, but in a game where you have to eat, drink, and eventually keep yourself warm, it doesnt really make sense that you carry things in a bag that are not really there. It might also help (although not by much) with the pvp problem people seem to think there is. Maybe the guille could cover the bag, that would make not break it too much.

I realize that it is supposed to be as camouflaged as it is, but Im just curious if there is plans to add the back pack with the guille suit. Reason being, I understand on the military side that it makes sense, but in a game that is trying to be as "real" as possible, should it really make the bag disappear. I understand why it is the way it is, and really it would not bother me if it stayed the same, I am just curious.

Ender here, sent you a friend request on steam. Been looking for a group for a few, tried some of the public groups and as an ex soldier myself I find they are not focused enough -
I know there is a lot of issues with disconnecting during combat to avoid death or just to flank someone. What if we needed a certain item to disconnect, like a fire pit or tent out in the wild and a bed (no something you would carry with you) or something in the city. I feel it would fix the aforementioned issue with the combat disconnects. I see an issue would be items required might be tough to find which would require you to stay logged in. Maybe to fix this there would be a penalty for logging of without these items.) Just something I was pondering and see what people would think
