Hello everybody! This morning I found this old and beaten beauty in a little shed: The first 3-digit-number matchbox I´ve seen in a while! Definitely not the highest number of matches ever found, but, during my playtime so far, I never came even close to the max. possible amount of 250 (according to the ingame item description). So I was wondering, what is out there in Chernarus, waiting to be found/spawn or maybe has been found already... Everybody is talking about rare loot items, like smersh and co., but noone ever mentiones this absolute exclusive item... a truely full matchbox! ;) That is why I ask you, my fellow survivors, what is the highest number of matches in a box you´ve encountered so far? If you are up for a little side-challenge during your usual DayZ-business feel free to post here (please include picture-proof for higher 3digit-numbers). Time to check your pockets, bags, backpacks and long closed protector cases or to keep a lookout on your quest. Travel safe! CU

Good find! :thumbsup: Did you see that although your inventory slot shows "100", the item description says "0 remaining". So, there is a "double lead" new leader now :) . Sweet... ...but it appears this number is indeed the maximum number possibly to find atm (as PhillyT thought before)... :(

It was good reading your post, as I could find a lot in there that is true for myself! So, believe me if I tell you that you are not alone! I am in the 4digit hour range, and guess what, I still cannot act against "my real life nature", as you called it so spot on. There is a lot of reading material in the forums you can find online, but there is one sentence that summed it up for me pretty well: "I´ve tried to be mean and dangerous, but I suck at it." So a friendly orientated playstyle is ON. That doesn´t mean that I am not cautious when I approch people (well at least I try to be as much as I can...) or not ready to defend my chars life if I have to. But I still like to talk to people "on sight", instead of shooting them on sight, if the place and conditions permit. Yes, the results of that playstyle may vary and can be frustrating sometimes (as you have experienced in your helicrash-situation). So you have to be ready for it (it is only pixels, right?!...well, I am not so sure about this anymore...definitely depends upon how "infected" you are yourself), but the learning curve is steep and in the long run, the results from "peaceful" player interaction are WAY more rewarding than all the damaged and ruined loot others may pick from your broken body/or you from theirs. And you will not miss any of the adrenaline rushes and heart pumping action at all. This playstyle is a hard one though, that needs a lot of balls. Shooting and killing everything that moves is a easy way to survive (unless you have a potato-aim like me... ;) ). Everything has it´s place in the game, so nothing wrong adapting here and there a little bit, as you make your way through Chernarus... I would recommend the same as others did before. Find a private and/or whitelisted community, that is well moderated, and play there (never tried rp). If this place has it´s own website and forum, even better. You´ll quickly learn to know the active people by playing, reading/discussing and watching their vids. Ánd you´ll find similarities, for sure. For myself I´ve found this place here http://oldschooldayz.net/index.php , but I am sure there are others. But whaterver you do, enjoy your 30hrs-all-time-freshspawn time in Chernarus while it lasts! Explore, have fun and always be ready for all the surprises that lie behind the next corner. Don´t let yourself become downhearted by all these "scumbags" :rolleyes: out there, find your way to deal with them!

I prefer the use of the ingame map too. To collect and puzzle a full map is always one of my first tasks after respawning... If I am not completely mistaken, clouds always move from west to east. Have the inventory open and just drag the item of your choice into the slot position. There is a thread about this (and how players prefer to set this bar up), I think, but I couldn´t find it anymore, sorry. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/218931-how-do-you-set-up-your-hotbar-and-why/?hl=hotbar Most people prefer to have like the melee weapon on 1, guns and sidearms on the the following numbers. I like to have the map on 0, compass on 9, bino´s on 8 and so on from the right side. It might come in handy one day if you stick to you personal preferance in the setup and use of the keys.

Did you put the map in one of your "fast access" inventory slots 0-9? Should work from there, no matter if it is a single or full map...

Ok, I´ve found 1 sword in the Rog on top of the main tower, one on top of the wooden stairs leading to the outside wall at the OldFieldsCastle, and 2 at the DevilsCastle - one on top of the main tower, and one bugged into the ground of the gate room. 3 were worn and the last one at DevilsCastle lay pristine in it´s underground "crypt" This was all pre 0.53 and on a private server by the way. And yes, it took a lot of running and time.

IMO the american server has been a bit more busy lately, but is far from the playernumbers you usually see on the one located in europe. This server is maxed out with 50 Players on a regular basis. Because of that, I heared, that there will be a decision about the server location in the "near" future. There is still hope for more active US-players!! To find out what will happen, you might want to follow the owner´s postings on oldschooldayz.net .

Congrats! :thumbsup: :) Like BigB055, I played a couple of hrs this morning and found several boxes, but nothing even close to yours. So, that makes it 3x100pcs boxes found, up to now... I just hope this number will not be kind of a (sound)barrier...

... maybe not a "must have", but higher numbers are definitely a "want have" for me... Agreed, same habbit here!

Nope, you need a east suppressor for the AK101. But then it is a really nice gun!

Thanks, but 97 is nice too! I didn´t keep the box though, as I wasn´t sure if "damaged" ones work as fine as the "pristine" ones. Guess they probably would. .......Instead I decided to offer them to the DayZ-gods at the Altar, and keep my fingers crossed now for even more luck and higher numbers ............ :D........... just kidding............. I only do that with beloved guns, that got names and have to stay behind now because of major changes in my armory........ :rolleyes:......... Yea, somewhere around there. But this has been a while ago... I hope they still do!
