The servers you have been logged in may appear under the 'History' tab. Just check the 'History" tab to find out which servers you have been on and see if you find one of your former characters. As someone already mentioned there's also a bug, that might reset your characters if you are logging in too quickly after a serverdown/restart. Prevent this by being patient and wait a couple of minutes before you rejoin after a restart or check the servertime. Sometimes there are intended character wipes too, but this would be announced usually and does not happen often. in some cases you also might have been killed during the logout process, since your characters needs 30 seconds to disappear after hitting the logout button. (this is needed to prevent combatlogging and ghosting). So make sure to always find a save place to log out. Be aware that you might also die (and so be a freshsapwn again), when you are uncouncious, restrained or sitting in a car when the server goes down. I don't know the default key to let it show up (it fades out if not used recently), but try dragging an item to the bottom of the screen should make it appaer. Here's a screenhot showing the action bar: He might be covered well (ghilly suit, lying in a bush etc.) or has already been changing position. There are a couple of soundbugs in the game, but all I experienced and heard of so far are shots people were supposed to hear but didn't and eating/drinking/split ammo/open soda-noises global sounds sometimes, find a morphin and use it or combine a stick with a rag to craft a splint and use it

DayZ Standalone: Download the Steam client and create a Steam account (if not already existent). Open Steam, look for DayZ Standalone, purchase it and then simply hit the download button, wait until it's loaded. and start playing. DayZ Mod: You will need Arma 2 and the Operation Arrowhead Expansion for Arma 2 (Steam offeres it too, but you might find it cheaper somewhere else - google helps). Buy, Download, Install. Google DayZ Commander and find a site to download it (it's free). Install, open and look for DayZ Mod (free aswell). Wait until download is finished. Start the Mod from the Commander client - play. Which one to choose is up to you and your peferences. DayZ Standalone is in alpha stage still, but already has a lot of features and is constantly being worked on. Expect bugs until it's fully develeoped. The DayZ Mod by now still does have a couple of features that aren't implemented in the SA yet, but the Mod is no more being worked on. Means...don't expect bugs (which also exist in the mod) to be fixed, don't expect new/more features, etc. I myself tried out the Mod after having steppend into the SA and sadly have to say I was disappointed. But that might just be me...there are a many others around that still prefer the Mod though.

Survivor Gamez VI Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]
Nimura replied to tux (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Even though performance was really messed up this time I felt pretty well entertained. I just noticed that I enjoy it a lot more not knowing more than the chosen streamer to watch about what is going on, since I noticed watching the commentary or others streamers perspectives at the same time somehow kills the experience for me. Somehow I seem to always pick one of the final 3 man standing, so I actually never had to decide what to do if my chosen SGZ Streamer dies early. I surely watch all this afterwards to satisfy curiosity or just because there might have been more than one streamer on the list I actually like to watch but for the time it's live I find it a lot more intense to stick to only one. All I can say about the commentry is, that I think they did a good job. Sure, they could be quicker switching sometimes and for sure, they might miss something interesting going on, but hey – they are not professional commentators doing that for living...just some guys trying their best on something that might seem to be easy but I'm sure it isn't to be on point whenever things happen.. I'm pretty much satisfied with how it turned out. Regarding to the handling when bugs kill people or bring them back to new life, I think it's up to the organizers to decide how they want to handle it. They decided to let Anthony keep on playing and as long as they'd decide exactly the same way, if it happens again to someone else in the future, I'm absoluty fine with it. I was pretty sad hearing that the server ip was accidently revealed and that the server was ddos'd afterwards. Even though I don't know Lirik at all I don't think he revealed the ip on purpose. Accidents happen and at least the organizers noticed that it might be a good idea fo figure out ways to avoid accidents like that in the future. There's only one thing about the SGZ that actually pretty much depressed me...I was just watching a couple of different perspectives by now and noticed that there were some streamers taking part that actually lack crucial knowledge in terms of gameplay. Don't get me wrong – I'm totally fine with participants not being the best players on earth and it's totally fine to not know each and every bit about how things work, but if someone is taking part I expect them to at least prepare for the event. When someone who takes part isn't familiar with the map and even then doesn't feel the need to spend like 5 seconds to check the pre-announced small part of the map the event was to happen at it just feels wrong to me having them participating in an event like this. I actually would give a shit on how popular they are and give their spot to someone less popular but dedicated. -
What about a drying rack (sticks + duct tape/rope)?

A zombie just welcomed me as I opened the door to a building, in my first session of the new patch. Since I already had my AKM into my hands and I didn't want to give him the chance to ruin my raincoat I decided to shoot, instead of changing to my melee weapon. This panic, when nothing happend but the "click" sound of an unloaded weapon.^^ I had onedrum mag attached to the akm and a second one in my inventory before the patch. Both were gone. This is the answer I found in the feedback tracker: This has been caused by the original drum mag being replaced for black/green variants. The original drum magazine is no longer in the game and there was nothing that could be done to prevent this from happening.[

The servers I played on seemed to work perfectly persistance wise.

Interesting. My friend and I found a grenade and a flashbang last night. When I threw the flashbang I couldn't move at all for like 5 seconds. I thought it was just a problem with my keyboard that moment, but exactly the same happened when my friend threw the grenade. The last I heard was "wtf, I can't move". Shortly after we were dead. As if this wasn't strange enough I might need to say, that I at least stood like 80 meters away from the point of impact (impact --30m---my friend- -50m-- me). We burst into heavy laughter, but it didn't feel it worked as intended actually. '
