What really helped me was to alt-tab while in the lobby and shut down the launcher. Zero lag after I tried that.

I use a sniper rifle for the same reason I throw rocks at squirrles. The squirrles tend to bitch less though.

What you are describing is utopian. There will never be a sandybox game like that as long as there are other players involved. Ever. But there are some solutions that can be adressed to make the game a little less frustrating for you people. Weapons. There too easy to find, and theres too many of them. Personally, I would make ammo extreamly scarce to the point that you would think long and hard about fireing your wep... Then again, if we didnt have firearms we would just gather up, grab an axe or a crowbar and go to town. The word "noob" would be replaced with the word "seal", and we'd gleefully club the living shit out of em. Duping. I know its a glitch and will be fixed but right now its rampant. No one cares about losing their stuff because after their killed they just go back to their tent and gear up. No big deal. While we dont condone that kind of behavior in our clan, I cant babbysit everyone. And Ive heard rumors that some clans promote it.

Depends on how geared up you are, and how many buddies are playing with ya. When we run into Electro fully armed 10-15-20+, Zombies, food, water, is an afterthought. We now dictate the action of other players.. Thats what I love about this game, every time I play, I could write a short story.

Dont you realize the more you bitch the sweeter your tears are? I killed a guy today that went into a hospital that stood right in front of an apartment building. Had he not been lazy and swept the area before he went in he might have lived. Point being, most of the kills I get are people who drop their guard. Play smarter, live longer.

The game has evolved or de-evolved to the point that you cant trust anyone except your clan mates, and even they shoot me in the ass every now and then..

The biggest difference is player tags. In regular they can be seen, in vet they cant. Being able to see tags makes it more easy for snipers, not being able to see them makes it more easy for team kills. Imo, anyway.
