Thanks, but really, let the players decide how this game is to be played. I don't need my mom, dad, Dean Hall, or god telling me jack about how I am going to have fun. How I have fun is a personal decision, best not left to others to decide.

AKM all day long. Ignoring rarity, which the AKM wins handily, the AKM puts people down faster than any other assault rifle in the game. It is hard to learn how to fire it in combat, but it is totally worth it. I shot a friend in the ankle once with an AKM, and he was dead before I could even bandage him. Also, when I camp barracks, the AKM always puts people down quicker than any other weapon I have used there. I sit and wait for them to enter the hallway, then light them up. They never make it past the shower door when I hit them with the AKM.

I have played quite a bit with pistols in this game, and in my opinion it goes like this: 357 is king. No clip, and the bullets hit the hardest. No-brainer. But lets assume all of them came with clips, and ammo was not a factor in deciding. In that case, FNX45-1911-.357-CR75-Makarov/P1-Longhorn. However, in reality the FNX is all but impossible to get your hands on. 750 hours in, and I have yet to use one. Been shot by a couple, though. The Longhorn goes all the way to the bottom, because all it has ever done for myself and my opponents is get us killed. I am speaking from experience here. I have been killed a couple of times using it, and I have killed more than a handful of people who were trying to kill me with it. One shot, that's all you get. If the guy is a decent distance away, you won't even kill him in one shot. By then, you are getting return fire on your position, and guys are on their way to kill you, with weapons that fire more than once before requiring a lengthy reload. I want to love it, but when the rubber hits the road, this weapon fails. The 1911 and the .357 are brutal. When you get hit by one, you usually go unconscious, if not outright dead. Get hit twice, you are respawning. I put the CR75 above the P1 and Makarov due to magazine size alone. 15 shots is a huge advantage. They all down players about the same though, maybe with a slight nod to the Makarov, but nothing substantial. All in all, if I were to take a sidearm, the .357 is my go-to pistol. Abundant ammo, deadly power, and no clip. 6 shots is fine as long as you make them count. A bonus is that the repeater uses the same rounds, and is fairly common. This helps depending on how you are playing. Edit- Oops. Forgot the Derringer and the amphibia. I cant't speak about the derringers power, but in special cases, I can see it being used. 2 slots is highly concealable. Amphibia as a pistol is kinda weak. The ammo is only good if you land headshots, it requires a clip, and the pistol itself is quite rare. As a special use case though, it has potential.

Didn't they already come to that conclusion? I am pretty sure items will degrade, eventually become ruined, then disappear, respawning another item within the game world. Also, the container you store things in should have an effect as well, and you should be able to pack items for storage as well. Want to store a rifle? Grease it up before burying it.

Yup, which is why I play the way I do right now. Right now, I am playing the game as I see fit. Tomorrow, I will play the game as I see fit. But you do realize, most of the guys who like playing in the woods with berries right now, they can't handle a difficulty increase. Most of those guys have issues killing zombies as it stands right now. If you crank the difficulty, all you will have left is guys like me, who can swing it. All you ancient gamers are gonna be in for a rude awakening when easy pickings go away. I power game. Throw whatever you got at me, I'll figure out how to gain advantage. I'm in this one for the long haul fellas. I'm not going anywhere, and I bring more people to the game all the time. I have already sold 5 copies of the game by word of mouth. All those copies were sold to guys just like me. Our ranks grow and grow. We play to get your tears. We will have them.

I'll kill you with a rusty spoon. The guns aren't what makes the PvP in this game delicious. The thing that makes it delicious is the tears of guys who spent 10 hours gearing up, eatting berries, and going fishing. I find them, and I kill them. I take all those hours you invested in your character, and I flush them down the drain. You should thank me, guys like me are the ones providing you with a true survival aspect. Don't fear the mechanics of the game, or the infected whatevers running around, FEAR ME. I will end you, not those clumsy zombies, or that silly heat mechanic. And know what does it for me? The same. I put time into my character as well, and everytime I try to kill one of you, I too am rolling the dice with my investment. I get the same survival aspect, but instead of playing against mechanics that a child could overcome with ease, I am pitting myself against other humans in the struggle to survive, a far more worthy challenge in my books. The only way this will ever change is if they make this game single player. I promise you that.

So we aren't even playing a zombie game? What the hell is the Z in DayZ standing for then?
-
I assume, same as you. We will find out. When we do, the other one can gloat forever over the other. I'm patient.

************Removed********** Top post sums it up, and there is a video link in there as well of a hacker getting what he deserves.

Mr. Jizz's Manifesto of Player Interaction

Have fun getting shot in the face. Reveal yourself to me at a known PvP area and you get shot. Others are just like you, except they stab you in the back, killing you as soon as they have the chance. You aren't looking to kill me? Well, I am going to kill you. Have fun with that. I'm sure the one time a guy doesn't kill you out of 50 is totally worth it. You must be really lonely in Chernarus to risk your life so recklessly. -
Corpses should come back as zombies. It's a zombie game ffs...

What is the easiest way to get a fully-loaded M4? PvP.
-
The whining answer to your question is that all the berry pickers think it will ruin "their" game, because everyone will play "ez" mode. But if everyone wants to play a certain way because it is more fun to them, why should we cater to the minority? Give them their berry picking mode and let us have our normal mode.

I have seen dozens. Not just seen them, I have been in combat and killed by DOZENS of hackers. Guys who lay prone and shoot about the map. Guys taking items out of my inventory. Two hackers ago guy took my magazines for my M4 and my MP5K out of my inventory. Hackers are drawn to players who are fully geared. They seem to like hunting down groups of us. They also mostly really suck at aiming. My last encounter with a hacker was in a server, [m4] clan, with myself and 4 clan guys, and two others. The clan guys were duping, judging by how they were resetting the server, and how certain guys would leave right before it happened, then when it came back up, all 4 would be back in again after 3 minutes or so. Anyway, I stuck around, hoping to find their spot and kill them all. I was as fully geared as I could possibly be, I had no interest in their loot, just in killing them for their glitching ways. Along my way I got thirsty. I stopped, cracked open a can, in the middle of a field, and BAM! Here comes a hacker, punching me in the head from nowhere. He landed one shot, and I knew what it was immediately. I canceled my drink, started running, and ran all the way to the bridge east of cherno, crouched down and crawled under it, so the hacker couldn't punch me as I logged. So while you guys may not run into them, I run into them almost every time my group plays. When we play together, we play in the most popular servers. We stick mostly to the coast. That is where you'll find them. You will know they are hacking when you see them moving faster than otherwise possible. They have invisible weapons, often times looking like fresh spawns, then gunning down groups of people. Sometimes they are friendly, and try to talk to us, to help us. We always tell them to fuck off. But flip side to this, is when I am playing by myself, and go inland, or am in a server that is not full, hackers are rare as fuck. I DON'T SEE THEM. However, see above. They exist. Now, you can continue believing they are really rare, or don't exist. But here I am telling you they do, and it is a problem. Choose to believe me or not, but I have NO REASON to lie to you about this. So while you have your experience telling you one thing, here you have me telling you another. Believe what you will, but the problem will not go away simply because you ignore it. Your games may not suffer from hacking, but my friends and I, our games do, and they do QUITE OFTEN. I hope this helps to clear things up. Either way, here is my testament to hacking in DayZ. It exists, and it is bad.

After many hours of playing I've realized one thing....

I have zero problems shooting you in dayz, game is fine the way it is. I stay. Deal with it. -
I get good enough frames to PvP anywhere on the map, and my computer isn't super awesome. You want us to accomodate you based on your pc performance. Don't be so silly.

Play Farmville bro, right up your alley. No guns. -
People hack because they suck at the game. They get pissed off, thinking kids are ruining the game with PvP, and they buy the hax to go do exactly what they hate the most. They think they are giving PvP and KOSers a taste of their own medicine. Seriously, if you had run across as many hackers as I have, you would notice, most CAN'T HIT SHIT. They are obviously not good AT ALL. Edit- Joke is on them though, I have been killed by hackers so much I now chalk it up to dying by the games glitches. I do not count it as a true death. More like something that happens that gives me more to do, curing a little of the boredom.
-
And to add. Looting will always be there. Its not going away. Anytime, anywhere, you can loot. It is basic. So when you have the option to get your gear back and get back to advanced things, like hunting, fishing, killing, take the option. Looting will always be there. The only people I find who like the game more when they are looting is addicts.
-
Killing yourself for a better spawn is power gaming. Casual gaming is playing by imaginary restrictions. Take full advantage of what the game allows you to do, as long as you aren't hacking/glitching. Anyone telling you that you are wrong for this is the true lame.

Starter weapon? Magnum.
-
When I go out looking to kill, I ditch my backpack. What do you need it for when you are dead? If you are looking like that, I imagine you are looking to kill, right? Kiss the backpack goodbye.

The trick is to not tell the state.

Used it yet? Is it even in the game yet? Isn't this game in alpha? You some kind of AUG fanatic? What is your angle here?
