Sorry, I just want to see the world and everyone in it burn. I saw infected eat my wife and children, and you expect me to sit at a fire with you and reminisce? I am well past that bub, and I hold no hope for the future. My future is gone, wiped away. I'm gonna take everyone elses future now.

I wouldn't mind some sort of penalty to my PvP killings. Something to make it harder on me, and scarier for you when you see me, because you'll know what I am about as soon as you see me. As for why I don't play Arma 3? I don't own it. I own DayZ, which btw gives me a rush in combat like no other game I have ever played.

They are around. I favor that item. Can confirm.

I am under the assumption that they decided you shouldn't be allowed to see them due them not trusting you.

My buddy just got banned for game hack #38 yesterday and today, playing in UN/ZaP private shard servers. He is not hacking, I can be confident in that. I think what happened was he was running gedosato+ff13, and battleeye must have seen it as something fishy. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, how do we contact battleeye, or who exactly should we be contacting? We want to continue playing on these servers as we have invested ourselves in doing so. We hopped onto the Zap forum, is there other recourse available to us? I wouldn't care, except he is part of my team, my clan leader to be specific, and we roll together, as a team. Any help or guidance is appreciated.

You live in a fantasy world.

Should scopes in dayz have the ability to zero?
harteman replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
Its basically the same thing. Many fps gamers are used to calculating bullet drop using their sights than dialing in range. Instead of dialing from 300 to 400, you want us to look from this dot to that dot. Really, not much difference. Edit- I am in full favor of removing the range zeroing like we currently have now. Like I said, myself and most fps gamers are already used to compensating via sights, not through dialing in the range. -
Your backpack.

Since we are on about improvised explosives, why not have fuel oil + fertilizer + any container? These are things already in the game to an extent, the explosion would be meaningful, and scalable.\ Two walkie-talkies and you have yourself a remotely detonated bomb, that also has the danger of potentially being exploded by another player with a walkie-talkie, so we can have some risk to go along with that huge destructive explosion. Edit- to get even more realistic, you should be able to take the bullets from their casings and use them in the explosive, increasing lethality by a huge amount.

I've got a fully loaded M4, acog, attachments, 60rnd clip. You can have it if you are willing to kill for me with it.

I have a guy like that in my clan. He works wonders. While he is there sweet-talking your group, helping you out, building campfires and playing bullshit songs over in-game comms, he is also directing the nearest sharpshooter to his location so we can brutally murder you and remind you what game it is you are playing. It is great listening to him go to work.

Raw meat is good to go as long as you eat it right away. You just carved it out of an animal that had an immune system. Unless the animals are infected too, but I haven't seen that yet.

Clearing this up: DayZ is NOT years afterwards

Lore helps to immerse you in the game, so yes. -
Yeah, I hear the damage is screwed up to where each shot is hitting like a .22 round. I also see it in-game as well. I think each shot when shotguns were op was equal to a .380 round. Not sure on the details, but sure the shotgun was recently nerfed. Edit- Just tonight, a guy had to hit me 3 times from close range to make me go unconscious. Edit2-http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/215120-shotgun-nerfed/ I read somewhere else as well, that the damage was the same as the guy on this forum is claiming. Went from 60dmg per pellet to 6.

Steam will also tell you. It keeps track of who you play with too, by server.

Shotguns don't do dick for damage right now. 1911. I'd still pick the 1911 over a fixed sawn off.

AK101 deserves a mention here.

I guess if I did have one, it would be a scope. Any scope, really.

AKM puts guys down quicker. The ammo for the AK74 leaves much to be desired in that area. Tested it myself on quite a few unwilling participants. It seemed worse than an M4 for laying guys out.

A bug that truly needs to be fixed over the rest
harteman replied to CanOfTacticalBacon's topic in General Discussion
I fix this by getting the hell out of the building it is happening in. Sometimes zombies get confused on where they are and where you are, and they start swinging and hitting you regardless. Best advice if this happens again, get out of the building immediately, and put at least 5 meters distance between you and that building. -
The problem right now, is that clock for clock, Intel beats AMD by about 50%. So an FX chip at 4ghz, brings you 20fps in cities. An Intel proc clocked the same is getting you 30fps in cities. The problem here is that both of those procs are only using TWO of their cores on the game. If the game ever becomes threaded beyond two cores, then yes, we will all see massive improvements, for us FX chip users, we could actually hit 60fps in cities. IF AND ONLY IF, they increase the games ability to use the cores on our chips. Right now, the game is using 33% of an FX-6300's processing power.

The penalty for death goes both ways. I live by the sword and die by it, and I have no problem with this idea. The higher we can raise the stakes, the better in my opinion. Or did you not think that out fully? Also, if you have such a problem with PvP, why don't you organize a group that hunts us and puts us down on the spot? Make it harder for me to play the game the way I like playing it, just like others do to your preferred playstyle? The respawn timer can work for, or against us, equally, and if there are more decent folks like you in the game world, out there stopping us evil folk, the respawn timer would swing in YOUR favor. Maybe instead of wanting the game direction to go a certain way, to support what you like, you should realize you have the opportunity to stand up for what you believe in, and if your cause is strong enough, and you have the support of enough players, you could shut us PvP guys down, and put us in timeout. Us PvP guys, at least the ones I play with, we are all highly organized. One man gives out orders to the other five. What do you do to stop us? Just like in the real world, if good men sit by and do nothing, guys like me will take over everything we can, because that is what we do. You asking for changes to the game to prevent our playstyle is like praying to god in my opinion. You are stepping outside of the game in meta fashion to stop us. Well guess what? The devs already gave you everything you need to stop us in our tracks. You aren't doing it, though. We run rampant across Chernarus, killing as we please, while you sit back and expect to be able to ignore your own backyard, and do whatever it is you do? You need to organize, fight for what you believe in, and stop us. the respawn timer would be perfect for this. 15 minutes. Don't dismiss it just because a guy you don't like also supports the idea.
-
Agreed. There should be at least a 5 minute wait to respawn, and I would go so far as to say I favor a 15 minute timer for a respawn. Not only will it fix what you speak of, but it will add further punishment to the people I kill, making their deaths all the more tasty, while adding even more intensity to my firefights, as I will have even more to lose, but quite a bit more to gain.
-
I disagree with you completely. I can only speak from experience, but I have had the opportunity to use both weapons quite a bit, and everything I have said still stands. It is a beast at all ranges. It beats the MP5K at close range. The op asked which is better. I'd imagine as an either/or sort of situation. Not, "you can tuck the mp5k in your backpack and have both", but rather if you had to pick ONE. OP, I wouldn't lead you astray. I am a KOS/PvP kinda guy. That is how I play, that is how I have always played. These guys responding here, I don't think they play like I do. I play soldier, a lot of these guys play fisherman, hunter, etc... One of my purposes over the last 700hrs of playing has been testing ALL the weapons, on all manner of player, geared or not. If you are trying to kill people, and the ammo and the attachment situation is the same for both weapons, hands down, everytime, the AKM wins. The only caveat is that the AKM has HUGE recoil. Up close and personal, it doesn't matter, but for ranged engagements you have to put some time into the weapon, and eventually you will master whats happening enough to where it no longer is an issue. As for being out of breath, don't let that happen whenever possible. If you see them first, go prone and catch your breath. If they see you first, you need to take proper cover til your breath is back. Do this always, unless it is a surprise up close encounter. Then it doesn't matter, and the AKM shines in those situations regardless.
-
The guys saying if you shoot close range take the mp5k are dead wrong. The AKM is KING of close-range kills. You MIGHT go down with them, but GUARANTEED they go down too. I have been PvPing for 700 hours in this game, and I'll take an AKM over any other weapon, for any circumstances, including sniping and room clearing. Add a 75rd drum mag and nothing in the game compares to it. I'm not saying "this circumstance" or "that circumstance" I am saying if there is a fully-loaded AKM and MP5K on the ground, with plenty of ammo, the AKM should be your choice everytime, unless you have intentions other than killing/self-defense. That all said, the recoil on the AKM is horrendous. You need practice with it to make it truly shine.
