what's your favorite backpack to use?
humdizzle replied to TheMaxedout's topic in General Discussion
was using the mountain one for while, then switched to the improvised burlap one. the camo is much better. Plus its helping to stop my habit of becoming a hoarder. -
yeah i hope they change this too. Maybe if you are trying to run around bare foot or with leather shoes your character makes less noise at the cost of an increased chance of breaking an ankle if sprinting through forests?

I would hope everyone wipes!

maybe they should start spawning flashbangs/grenades at the military areas, easiest way to take care of campers

seems like a bit much with the oil coolers, spark plugs, timing belts. Spend 30 hours fixing up a ride, only to get sniped or KO'd by zombie and lose it all. That and most cars will be spawning around cities, unless there is someway to move a disabled car you are gonna be building it out in the open. A better idea may be having working, but damaged cars to begin with (alignment off, very slow) and at least then you can take it to a secure location to restore it to full potential. Also, unless they add rocket launchers or craftable bombs, you have zero chance against a car in an open field with a sks or pistol. Just give me a bike, let me peddle it home, and then I can bolt up small motor to it and be on my way.

Has dayZ succeeded in being a different type of game?
humdizzle replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
i too would like to see zombies become more than a nuisance / tshirt destroyers. problem is if you overpower them, or drastically increase the numbers... you will need to spawn more weapons/ammo unless you provide players with some other type of defense (ie barricading houses, or not letting zombies glitch thru closed doors) -
Ammo Box rarer then unicorns?(the storage box)
humdizzle replied to Happy-'s topic in General Discussion
you dont need to use ammo for shooting per se. I've traded ammo for rare items/clothing etc before. people will pay up for .45 and 5.56 ammo. Plus some of us carry multiple weapons. I had a mosin in my hands, ak101 on back, fnx45 and sawed off shotty in the backpack :) -
finding rare loot is one of the main reasons I play. Still on the hunt for an mp5k. I've had a 1911 + mag at one point but now i stick with the fnx cuz i can add a sight, suppressor and flashlight.

New graphic renderer - graphics improvements?
humdizzle replied to Ben_uk's topic in General Discussion
lol console games look like crap compared to their pc counterparts. A newer graphics card will easily beat out any xb1 or ps4. Its much easier to code for pc as well, the hard part will be coding for the ps4 and xb1. What im wondering is how they will set up the controllers for consoles. I really need a keyboard and mouse for dayz to be playable. -
waking up in an area surrounded by things that are totally unfamiliar to you adds to the fear factor. I mean would you rather wake up in some random town in america and try to find the nearest city... or a random town in japan where no one speaks english

i think it just varies server to server. some have good military loot some don't. I found my AK101 and like 5-6 mags for it in the military tents near balota. Usually the 5.56 ammo is scarce as hell. anyway.. I have a pristine mosin with compensator and LRS for trade if you have an mp5k with ammo. pm me.
-
i have a black mosin with pristine compensator and pristine LRS. painted black. few rounds of ammo. I have no use for it as i also have a ak101 fully kitted. Will trade for MP5K + magazine I can also give up a worn crossbow scope and sawed off shotgun with ammo to sweeten the deal.

If they want people to play nights they need to make an incentive to do so. There is no reason to play right now.. you can't see loot and turning on ur light leaves you exposed. Maybe they will add some in game night only missions (defend turf from zombie horde, travel from A to B, hostage escort, etc..) that reward you with high level gear.

I finally get a day off tomorrow and am anxious to try out this persistence thing. Ideally I'd like to keep a tent/gear/bag near the east coast so when I die I can at least have some decent gear off the get go. Problem is that each time you die you're gonna have to travel all the way to balota to get gear and haul it all back. I feel I can carry everything I need on me at the moment, plus without having a 'home' i can travel more freely and not be tied down to one area. I can see it working well if you have a group of friends and tents spread throughout the map so you can share. Hell you could even set up shops /trading posts / communities... endless possibilites. Another thing that might be an issue is people tenting up in forests. We don't know what the future update will hold, and its quite possible your tent just happens to be dead center of a new city in 0.49. Say goodbye to all your gear.
