You die of starvation from what I call the status glitch. If your energy and hydration levels don't change no matter what you eat or drink or time on server, you need to log off the server and back in to fix it. Or just eat and drink regularly and know your limits.

I don't like to record all my follies, well, I die a lot, but anyways. If you have an nVidia card Shadowplay (through has a cool "record last 5 minutes" button. OBS and a few others offer a similar feature as well. Then you wouldn't have to worry about recording every login or moment. You can change time to record and such, but you get the gist of it.

I am up to three, and don't consider $30 or $35 a massive amount of money compared to $10 for going out to a movie that lasts an hour and a half. Sorry, I like to compare entertainment value to the overpriced movie theaters. I used to use mine for a mule, but now I use it to prep for group events, and then be able to carry on just PVPing on one character while one guy awaits whatever organized event is planned next.

That is a completely different exploit that they can't seem to be able to fix. People should play the game without exploiting, and the devs should punish those server owners and players who cheat and scam and violate the BI ToS with drastic punishments. In addition, and more importantly, there seems to be an entire generation that is not being taught morals and values, as well as self respect and dignity. I know it is only a game. But if your 15 year old is spending all his youth cheating in video games and learning to work harder at cheating than fair play, what will happen when they become adults?

Normally folks who post about fighting bans I laugh at and assume they are cheaters. I don't see how this is possible, there is no way the Dev's have time for this. I am 100% certain the Dev Team follows my gaming experience around seeing what spawn point I want and ensuring I never get it. There is physically no way they have time to also follow that guy around as well.

I set my items down after packing up my camp last night. Is persitance turned off and why the hell would you not let us know in advance? I just lost all of my gear, which is fine, but to completely turn off a feature that is integral to the concept and to not announce it? Come on dev's, what the hell?

I was one of those Call of Duty types. Yesterday the struggle was real, so I picked a new inland town and got busy becoming someone new. I spent the entire day gathering up all the farming supplies and tools I could muster. I created a little place I felt was my new home, as a farmer. I was happy, energized, healthy, and surviving. Today I was going to invite others to my new home away form the PVP action. Two hours ago all of my backpacks, small arms, and gardening supplies just vanished. Was this a glitch on our server or was there an accidental ground wipe? This was a Gameservers server in case it was throughout the provider instead of the entire hive. i was so getting into being a survivor and not a murdering sociopath. -northofnowhere

Considering the game isn't reeally playable unless you like restarting ever ten minutes (I personally love to do that), so I just assume a patch will be around to fix it tomorrow.

We have been crashing a lot lately, probably a new bug. But for the record, losing connection, crashing, getting kicked does not seem to cause you to die. BUT when exiting a moving vehicle there are a lot of ways to die, its happened to us twice now.

Outrun or outsmart the zombies, for now you can not stealth around them. Once you get used to them they are more just annoying, not really an obstacle to stop you playing. The short fences are a good tip. Buildings and doors are back to being bugged, but line of sight works still too to lose them. Zig zag and turn around buildings and trees and walls when running away, it isn't hard to outrun them until you find a melee to deal with them properly. As for what melee, I recommend a Fire Axe, Splitting Axe, Sledge Hammer, Pick Axe, Garden Hoe, Brass Knuckles, in that order of preference. Until you have one of those, evade by running away.

The long ranges are pretty easy to find. If there are cans of food around, then you will probably find a long range too, very common.

Seen a couple comrades run themselves over and never put two and two together, but now that you mention it, I think that is pretty darned good information.

The non persistence servers seem to spawn too much loot, the persistence servers seem to spawn not enough. It doesn't seem very far off though in either direction. I can't wait until its "just right," should be pretty cool when the dev's nail it down.

I haven't held a PSO-1 scope in some time, and haven't found one myself in ages, I miss them. Couple buddies have gotten them off of some blatant dupers, but they are pretty rare nowadays. We did wipe out a white supremacist group the other day, one of the [NAZI] clan members had one too. The variety and amount of loot they had made it look like they were searching for days for gear. They are out there, just not in great amounts.

Our guys can seemingly craft splints just fine as well, all of us. Of course, only if we are on a lowly populated server that hasn't been up very long after reset. Any type of population or a server that has been up for over half an hour will either not allow you to craft the splint, or not allow you to apply it. In answer to the op's actual question though, how to prevent the issue in the first place on stairs? CJ, it is my experience that this happens more to folks who are less lucky with their connection, or those having immediate desync issues. Some tips. Maximize your connection possibilities. Do not use in home wireless, do not go on servers over 125 ping if you are having issues. "Sync" yourself with the game before entering a building with stairs. Set an item in your inventory down on the ground and pick it up. This action seems to prevent a few problems. It fixes being able to pick up items in a building/seeing them in "vicinity" in the TAB screen as well as seems to help prevent being "DayZ'd" on stairs for those with desync issues. Ultimately the issue is a DayZ related issue that is prevalent in those with lag or CPU lag issues. Working on your connection perfection or computer performance will help your issue.
