What are MAN icons on the map?
illmatic (DayZ) replied to shadowvfx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Saw this yesterday on a server that had it enabled, except at the end a few popped up as "Rifleman" instead of the normal "man" designation. Wasn't because I had spotted them either. Anyone have any idea what that is about? -
Dear sir, A "sniper" is a person who uses a long range weapon. I believe the word you are searching for is "sniper rifle". You wouldn't say, "Let me go fly that pilot" would you? Ok, maybe you would, who am I to judge your lifestlye? Sincerely, inb4trolls P.S. This may help you: http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Weapon_Comparison_Table

This. "Go make suggestions!"' date=' "This is wrong because it is a suggestion!" (lol, seriously dude?) Actually, how do you think that shit happens in real life? There are cells called osteocytes and osteoblasts and osteoclasts always crawling around inside and around bones. They constantly dissolve away bits of bone and constantly lay down new bits of bone. When a bone breaks the physical stresses and chemical signals attract more of these cells to lay down more new bone. Where the two broken ends of a bone touch the new bone laid down "glues" them together. Over time all the bone around the break gets dissolved and rebuilt bit by bit, effectively erasing the crack. But no, you're right, morphine instantaneously and permanently healing broken bones makes way more sense than letting them heal over time. Holy hell man, are you actually trying to be logical or did you just paint yourself into a corner playing Rocket's lapdog? -
This all sounds awesome, thank you.

Right, I keep forgetting how it's so realistic that you can stuff a main rotor assembly from a freaking helicopter into a backpack. While on the other hand, a small pistol takes up half of the same pack. (Seems legit.) Or that morphine is a realistic, instantaneous and permanent cure for broken legs. When considering all that, and a thousand other things in this game which are so very much an accurate simulation of real life, it makes complete sense that it is so utterly dark at night time. And that your pupils don't dilate over time to accommodate more light. And you have no tactile feedback of your environment, because in real life no one relies on their arms and hands to feel their way around. No, in real life you sort of float around and occasionally wonder if you might have ran into something, but can't tell because it's dark and surely you have no other way to tell if you're mindlessly walking into a bush or a wall. Simulation engine, indeed. We shouldn't consider any argument if it isn't based in absolute reality, as that is truly what this game is about. Oh, and zombies. There's also that.
