This bug has been in the game for many months. On my server we've basically abandoned barbwire as it causes lots of graphic glitches. Here is a picture of a barn with 3 barbwire items placed in a row and the player is approaching the barn from about 200M Not noticed this on my Server. If the server is restarted in the usual "Let's just kill the MYSQL/ARMA2OA process" then hardly surprising data isn't saved. I use the official mysql shutdown command to close my SQL server. mysql\bin\mysqladmin" -u <user> -p<passw> --port=3306 shutdown But first I close the ARM2OA process by using a AutoHotkey script I wrote to mimic the user clicking on the Close icon in the top right of the process window first. Some server admins are still using the taskkill command via a batch script and so any unsaved data from ARMA2OA is not saved to the MYSQL process. It is probably this that causes the bug perhaps?

You can do this with pretty much any item if you're quick enough. If I eat food by clicking on the single item multiple times it's fairly easy to get it to do it several times. Especially if the server is busy with players.

I've noticed this too with other vehicle parts. You apply the new engine and it's not repaired though the item is deleted. Also figured out from tips from other players that it's best to repair the glass items first, then apply the others items. They seem to stick then.

Hearing Can we get some consistency with how the Zombies hear players? I can eat, drink, repair and they come a-running. But if I run over metal or tiled floors, they just ignore me even though I'm making a terrible racket! :) If I bash a hard object like a wall then they should hear that too? Surely the dayz code could be set to trigger zombies on certain sound effects getting played? Personally I consider this a bug! :) Smell Can the DevTeam think about a sense of smell for Zombies? ie if the player is upwind of a Zombie and has eaten within 5 mins (especially with raw meat), they can be smelt by Zombies? As the wind is currently in the same direction, should be easy enough to implement? Trash/Food items Also regarding the issue of V1.7.6.1 and the removal of the extra food/trash items. Can I suggest you move the descriptive names of the food/trash to a database table and reference that? That way Admins who don't like them can remove or rename them as they see fit. Would even be nice if Servers in their own countries could have their own particular popular food items listed? Makes sense to me. Having a pile of servers at V1.7.6 and another pile at V1.7.6.1 isn't good folks...

Started getting serious graphic triangles plaguing my game. Since I've been placing a number of barbwire items (about 3-4) around a barn, I'm seeing a lot of grey triangles. The old flush method isn't working for more than a few seconds. Is it still bugged or is it me? A couple other players report seeing these old glitches at my barn. Seems to be only barbwire so far. Running Arma2 latest with patch 99700, dayz v1.7.4 on a Windows 7 Pro SP1 machine kept up to date with Microsoft's update. AMD graphics card with latest drivers installed a few days ago. I've found that slightly adjusting the height of my ARMA2 window by as little as 4-6 pixels has reduced the amount of triangles. But still there. But others get it in full screen mode. Seems to get worse when 3 or 4 barb-wires are built close to each other. Oh hum. :)

Or hide stuff inside it? Personally I'd like to be able to hide things in Wardrobes, cardboard boxes, etc. ATM, it is too easy to lose an item because it's in a very recognisable object like a car or tent?

As a Dayz Admin I'd like to see more objects for decorating the map. Having just two dead bodies of soldiers is very limiting. Can we get more? Can we get 3 or 4 dead civilians, skeletons (human as well as animals) to be scattered across the map? Bomb craters would be nice, fallen trees, rubble that doesn't look like it's been tidied up into a neat pile? I'd also like the ability to have spawn points for general items like food and water just randomly scattered across the map in low quantities. Why should all the canned food just be found in buildings (some are just ruins anyway)? :)

Server Question Regarding Hackers

Most of us Dayz Admins have no idea what the BEC logs do. I find that lack of any information on what all the logs of BEC are reporting make me very uneasy about banning anyone. Some logs tell you the effect of an hack on a victim so the log may in fact point to a victim GUID instead of the hacker. So be wary! For example in setpos.log I often get : 02.01.2013 21:05:25: Derpston (99.99.99.99:99) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - #0 shot 60:298 [6687,2306,6] 03.01.2013 11:54:50: Hdson (99.99.99.99:99) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - #0 2:1 FunctionsManager [1000,10,0] No idea what these mean and despite searching the ARM2 web site and google, still can't find any answer. So good luck with your own quest. :) I would advise that you ban players based on what the other players tell you AND if you can find any logs that tell you 'something;. Remember people lie too in the chats about other players. I always give that banned person the chance to send me an email and listen to their side of the story. Then if plausible, give them a second and final chance. This side of server administration is a right royal pain and if it goes on for any longer I'll just abandon it all. I don't want the stress and all the time consumption it seems to take looking up logs up out of my personal life sadly. -
I'm finid that when I add buildings in the Bliss Hive dayz v.17.4.4 and Beta 99153 that even though I use the correct and exact XY coords, the items don't stack correctly on top of each other. See below Ok, the heights are wrong but I can't these 3 items to line up one on top of each other! How did the Map makers do it?

How to Add AI Bots in Dayz private hive server ?

I run a private Bliss dayz server and I'd like to know how to add ordinary zombie spawn points. I can add buildings, vehicles, items, etc. but not zombies. But I figure that it may be possible to add zombie spawn points using some default dayz routine at a place of my choosing to give my players something unexpected say when walking through a forest? is there something I can add to the mission.sqf file in MPmissions? Cheers. -
This silly increase in Engine/fueltank/toolbox/ parts spawning is a joke. People are collecting them like they are food cans. So a once valuable part is as common as muck. At the very least make toolboxes as rare as they were before... There goes the Trade aspect of DayZ.... :(

Anyone got a clue how to add more vehicles spawn points to my Saintly Server? I seem not to have Landrovers in it so I had a try at adding them. I've edited the vechicles.pl so they get spawned and edited out a few of the old bikes and replaced them with LandRover_CZ_EP1 but on inspection in game the vehicles spawn being clipped to other objects like fences. I see that the Spawn table in the Db has only 73 entries, so I guess I need to add more in here. But is there a tool that allows me to quickly enter the correct XYZ co-ords?

I'd like to make the towns to have more zombies. But after increasing the numbers in 'server_townZombify.sqf' they're still kind of low. I only get about 4 around single barns. Vehicles and Tents how long do they last?

In my saintly Server I've set it to clean up tents left untouched after 20 days. It's set in the vehicles.pl script Seems more realistic to me. If a player goes on holiday for 2 weeks then they're still there when they come back. -
How important is NAT Negotiation to server hosters?

My personal view is if they're playing at hosting their own servers behind NAT then they need to learn that port forwarding is the best way to do this. It's a technical thing setting up your own server, not for the faint hearted, port forwarding is such a small thing compared with setting up a SQL Db and maintaining it! :) Most serious Gamers will know how to port forward already and having an extra tool to perform NAT Negotiation will have problems as no doubt not every router ever made will have implemented it correctly. -
No chance of a Triffid version then? ;) Hungry walking plants with a whip lash stinger to kill you from a distance of 5m would be cool.... See The Day of The Triffids if you've not heard of this post-apocalyptic story..

This is happening to my Server today! All players (except me (I'm admin) ) are getting kicked. I've turned off BattlEye on the server and still people can't stay on the server for more than a min or two! Running (1.7.2.6/98046) This happened before I upgraded the beta patch to 98046.... I've even downloaded the latest BEclient/BEServer dll to my server/client and it does nothing for others trying to get on. :( -

Lovely. But doesn't work too well for private servers like Saintly. Scripts.txt kicks all players off with the 'setHit' line. (#45) So I can't leave it running as I need to change the line "5 setHit..." to a 1 each time.... ;) -

Many thanks for that pointer. That makes sense. I've noticed over time that objects like tents, vehicles tend to move a little everytime the server is restarted. So I guess this one vehicle was resting near a tree or something and was hitting it over and over again.. It generated 10s of megabytes of log files! :) Thanks very much, you made my admin life a good bit easier! :D -

Also I can't tell who is doing it! :( I kicked everyone off and the log file is still filling up! I restart the server and it starts up again! Is it possible for someone to do this without actually being logged into the game itself? Is it possible that somehow someone has added an illegal SQL script into my SQL DB which is doing this?
