Im not praising rocket, im just giving a long over due apology to fellow fans here -
I searched but didn't see any confirmations of boats in the roadmap? I probably just didn't see it right? I really would like to have a sailboat or other kind of boat in Dayz.

I've been hanging out in Cherno before I got the respawned as bambi hack. And it was dead normally, even though it's near Balota. So yeah, stay around Berezino, electro and cherno are ghost towns.

No one want to play because of the reset...
hothtimeblues replied to kircheschm's topic in General Discussion
I'll play tonight. I'm already a new character from the new hack that forces you to respawn. But I will try to get some new gear and have a little fun before the reset. but we don't know when the reset is. So just play. -
OK, Guess my search for it didn't work well. My bad. I'm surprised a lot of people would be against it. All they have to do is make it rare. And we already had plenty of one shot kills from the mosin a while back and I didn't hear much bitching about the mosin being one shot kill. So why would peopel be so afraid of a powerful rifle?
-
Yeah, man. I know a slow sailboat would be a sitting duck in the game but I still want one for some reason... Probably cause I can't buy one in real life... But barricading should allow us to put armor on anything so that would be cool to armor up your boats. But at least a fast small boat in the game since you could not be as easily sniped.

My friend, you must be new around here because all the issues you talked about have been very well discussed issues since 2012. So just realized the game developers are working on it.

As50, is that a .50 caliber sniper rifle? I didn't play the mods much but I heard something about them. So I see your point. Those should be able to penetrate an engine block. But did those really bust up the vehicles in the mod, or helicopters? If so, then I'm OK with that. But because we are adding barricades...... if someone has one or two plates of steel then .50 sniper rifle is not as useful as a anti tank rifle. Especiallly a modern anti tank rifle round that I would think uses depleted uranium. Only depleted uranium is gonna go through any barricade in Dayz. With a depleted uranium tipped anti tank round.... someone who just spends days collecting multiple layers of heavy plate steel and just wants to camp can be killed with my suggestion.

As promised, I'm trying to add positive ideas/posts. I would like the ability to tie zombies together. Either in pairs, or even a chain of zombies. We should be able to round up a zombie if we have a net or a dog catcher's tool. Then, we can tie zombies to stakes in the ground and thus form perimeters. If we tie up 8 zombies together, then set them on fire, they should go crazy and try to run in different directions. It could be used as a distraction if you want to sneak through a city or base at night. Or you just use it for pure, god damn fun. When vehicles come, we should be able to tie zombies to a bumper and drag zombies. The ability to create different lenght ropes is the key to having fun with the physics here my friends. Hours, and hours of pure god damn fun my friends. At least some great youtube videos.

Tie up zombies and catching them on fire.

Yeah, good point. Thanks for the comments. I can't wait to see whats in the final release. I'm sure there will be a lot more stuff to do. -

As long as I honor my new decision to be positive.... thanks supporters. I love the game. I just hate hackers and glitches. So I just need to learn how to keep it all seperate. -

Good point. You are correct. I'm not sure about what I'm talking about. And I value your opinion just as much as my own. I got mad respect for fellow Dayz Fans and I apologize if I come off as a dick to the Dayz project or other fans. I need to chill sometimes. I hope the admins and everyone can forgive my bullshit if I can be better about what I say. -

To Helicopter Hunter.. You provided words. I'm talking about results. LIke I said, 6 more months and I think that is reasonable to see major core updates compared to the opening alpha stand alone. That willl be a total of 14 months since the hugely successful and well funded alpha launched. I'm not disagreeing with you by the way. I agree that it does take time to fix such a large complex project. But if we still have the same desync, ambient sounds, awkward controls, unresponsive hot keys, hackable loopholes, and laughably broken zombies that hit you after you shot them dead... hit you while facing backwards..... and hit you from 16 feet away..... If I still see this after the 14 month milestone.... Then honestly, can you really believe they will have been working on the core since January 2013 when they made the announcement that they had to? -

If we consider that Bohemia is truly interested in completing Dayz as a final release than you are correct that they would do it themselves. I'll give them 6 more months but if I don't notice any core improvement after 14 total months then it can only mean bad things about any hope for a final release. In other words, not adding things onto of the clunky core, but actually improvements of the core that will give them the ability to really add dynamic elements to the game. Everyone says Alpha is for adding stuff only, but this core is so bad, they can't truly add any dynamic elements to the game because it can't currently handle anything else. If you can't have more than 2 zombies in a city, how can they add alpha elements into the game. I would be OK with zero update between now and 6 months so they can rebuild the actual core well enough so they can add cool elements for testing afterwords. Wouldn't that make for a better final product? This is what us small minority of Dayz Fans are trying to explain but keep getting called out as idiots or petulant children. I only want DayZ to succeed but can't for the life of me understand why since 2012 there has been almost zero core work done on the mod or the stand alone. Anyone can tell that adding the persistent loot or respawning loot was the final straw ontop of the broken core. Months have been lost or will be lost because until the core has major updates, we are stuck in limbo. -
Yes it still happens because only recently are the devs aware of it and that it's even possible. If you are on a full server, it's very likely to happen. The last time I was in a full server, the hack happened in less than 10 minutes of me being there. It's ridiculous how easy and rampant the hacks are to do in DayZ. They need to set the tone that hacks will not be tolerated like this in the final release. They should send an army of lawyers with their millions of dollars to the sites that sell these damn hacks.

Then if you are correct, they really should have just purchased a ready made engine and just have artists add similar models. Because if this is the engine rebuild to date after 8 months than we are in for a very long haul my friends. -
Just go to any full server like 29/30 or 39/40. Then simply wait for about 10 to 15 minutes. You will experience the new hack that forces you to respawn with every other player on the map by a pond as a naked black female. Congrats, you have a new toon. Now the first thing that will go through your mind is complete disbelief that this is reality. Because Rocket said this hack is impossible to do so don't try to kill yourself because you think it's a dream. I guess hackers can now bend reality to make the hack work, otherwise all the fan boys here who believe in Rocket would be wrong. And that's just not possible to not believe in Rocket. P.S. At first I thought my old character was saved because the first time you play the game again after the hack you see your old character. But the second time I played after getting hacked I was unfortunately the naked bambi. You are welcome.

So if they knew they would have to rebuild the egine 8 months ago.... why have we not seen any of it? If we did there would be less desync, better FPS in towns, better control response... etc, etc. The only core work we have seen is adding navmesh ontop of the same engine from 2012 mod. Am I wrong? Which I seriously could be but I have not noticed any improvements to the core. Now, if they have been working on rebuilding the engine and we just have not seen any of that yet, then that would explain my misunderstanding. So perhaps they have a game build with the modified engine that just is not in any updates yet. Is this the case? -

I see your point. I myself have been too impatient and judgemental about the progress. The reason people worry about the game though is a few little things that could mean big problems in the final release. 1. Has the huge hacking problem in Dayz mod and stand alone alpha been getting worse because they don't have time to fix it yet as you say or because they don't know how to. There is no way to know for sure that they want to fix it or know how until later. So I guess this is where I have to be patient for the beta and release. 2. Did the fact that they only recently decided to rebuild the engine mean instead of before the launch of Alpha mean they were unaware of the limitations of it and the scope of their concept for release or they simply just never announced earlier that they would have to rebuild the engine. These 2 issues can cast some doubt to people about the final release. Anyone who does not worry about the game being finished correctly after knowing these two issues has a lot of faith. -
Yeah, Berezino. The last time i tried going to Berezino on a full server, my friend and I were in the woods, well hidden in the tree line, and we didn't last 6 freaking minutes before we were ambushed from behind. So for the love of Jesus, can you imagine being on the streets of Berezino? You will get all the combat you freaking want there.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
hothtimeblues replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
So instead of discussing facts with me and numbers, you just simply say I'm crazy? So are you saying that Dayz Alpha sales have not dropped off and yet we see a very consistent level of hacking or maybe even an increase? You can't ignore this part of my post and just say I'm wrong. The way good debates work is you provide evidence to back up your point. Please, go ahead, explain how the hell we are seeing the same amount of hacking but Alpha sales must have drastically reduced..... It's because at least 25% or more of global banned people buy another Dayz account. Think about it. If these pieces of shit hackers have extra cash to buy hacks, they probably don't mind spending extra cash to buy a new Dayz account. I think the easiest way to prove my point would be to see if the average number of players on a given day across all servers has remained the same or even dropped off compared to say.... 2 months ago even if there were more new account created in the last 2 months. Because of the global bans for last 2 months, those deleted accounts match up with some of the new accounts created in the last two months thanks in part to many of the globablly banned purchasing new Dayz accounts. How else can you explain we see a constant level or increase of hacking even though sales are slower than 4 or 5 months ago?
