You are very lucky that this has happened only once to you. In my experience, I only see them on full servers and I would say about twice a week I have been killed by them. ESP seems to be the most common hack. Love the game, having a lot of fun still, but furious about the scum bag hackers.

Yeah that is what is bad about a 2nd or 3rd party being used as an only measure to stop hacking. The companies who are supposed to be spending money on research and development when they create their video game get to just say... "well, we can just count on Battle Eye to ban people if they find all these loopholes that we are too busy to close" I'm sorry, but that is just really lazy programming. I'm going to be patient and pray that Bohemia does not have the same attitude for their final relase. Since this is alpha, maybe they are not bothering with hacking since it would be better to only close loopholes later in Beta or Final. However, because the demand is growing for hacks, I'm afraid the demand will be strong enough during the final release that very clever people will devote more resources into new loopholes. In other words, this whole ignoring attitude of hacking has set the tone for all of DayZ. The tone is...... it's OK to hack your ever living ass off in Dayz. If Battle Eye, (not Dayz), bans you, then just buy another copy of the game and start all over. That's a terrible way to build loyalty to your product. So let's hope they devote time to closing loopholes for the future release.

how can this be an exploit? There is no console command or menu screen in our game where you can just type in a line of code to make the game spawn everyone as a naked bambi. It has to be impossible without altering something that is not supposed to be altered so it's a hack. Please feel free to explain how a simple exploit can make all 40 people on a server respawn? An exploit is something like duping, or even using the stick that used to crash the server. Those are all accidents that people discovered and then used. But forcing everyone on a server to respawn in the same exact place? Are you saying if you eat a cucumber the wrong way during a legit game of DayZ, this might force all 40 people to respawn as a naked bambi in the same place? Exploit my ass.

But the more widespread the hacks get, the more likely they will be addressed by the DayZ project staff. I hate to say it, but we are already past the point of misery. "Let 10,000 flowers bloom". Silencing the professional hackers who are devastating our otherwise fun alpha game is only enabling Bohemia to do nothing about it. It's sad that the admins here who are awesome people for donating their time for free are have to look for and remove posters that are selling the professional hacks. We shouldn't have to be afraid of hackers if it was simply prevented in the first place.

But what about servers that show people are in but you cant connect? Does that mean they dont really exist at the moment?

Well if you have been paying attention to full servers in the stand alone, we are actually seeing global server hacks like the spawning as a naked bambi by the bridge/pond. That to me is the same degree of the worst hacks in the mod. Remember the mod hack were they teleported us all together? This new hack that came out right during or after the Pax makes his statement that hacks are less severe untrue.

Its not combat logging now that you are a sitting duck for 30 seconds. To me its more of a risk to leave the server under fire.

Is the next update going to fix how much armor we have from layers of clothes? Im tired of making one and even sometimes two shots on a guy who is moving from over 400 meters with a screaming hot mosin round and they not only live but they dont even slow down. Either reduce the armor or simply add the realism of slowing us down after the shock of a high power rifle round tears a hole through us. I normally dont pvp but with the coming wipe I have been engaging more and I dont understand how anyone finds firefights anything but frustrating and a let down. Yesterday a guy from 10 feet was hit by my bullet but due to lag I got his round and died also. In real life the 3,000 feet per minute makes it highly unlikely we could both kill each other instantly with one round each. Firefights are pretty bad guys. I guess i will not pvp until they fix all this.

As long as we can spray paint them. I wanna see those cool unicorns/my little pony things in fantastic airbrush on vehicles. It would be a great distraction.

This is a really cool idea. Would make for some funny moments when you pull photos off of dead people. But I really want to be able to thumb tack the pictures on walls. And write notes on the walls.

If you think pointing out how hacking is getting worse and very little has done about it is "shit posting". Then that's your opinion. I'm still way more constructive about everything else. I really don't see how anyone's feelings are getting hurt or their panties in a bunch except yours. I don't get why you like to start arguments with people. You sound like a misreable person to be around. Yes, I think Bohemia is not concerned with hacking in the Alpha. There are numerous facts that prove this. I never said they will always never care. I believe they might care in the final release. If you can't see that then I'd like to equally distract you and sell you some swamp land down here in Florida. Actually, after seeing that special Lady Valor about the kick ass Seal that became a cross dresser, I have mad respect for the guy and take back my comment about My Little Pony avatars for men. I am actually a very progressive person and have no problem with peoples personal choices. I just want to know where did the unicorn/my little pony characters get popular? Like is it a new cartoon that boys and girls grow up on? I'm 37 years old so I'm too old to know about all the cool stuff I guess.

I am only being negative about hacking. I can't help that. I'm not complaining about glitches and broken core. That is something we should have patience for.

Dean has already proven several times that he was wrong about what is going on with his game. Anyone who plays Dayz on full servers knows that hacking has not only stayed consistent...... but has gotten worse. Since people are making money selling hacks, and Bohemia ignores hacking.... more and more people are selling and buying hacks... Hence the new hack from 8 days ago. Hopefully Dean is not intentionally lying, and just is wrong about his own game. We've seen it happen a few times before. Maybe they are too busy working on the game to know what happens if you play the game? I don't know, hopefully there is an explanation as to why he is dead wrong.

Server rating system is a great idea, but we shouldn't have that as our only resort to hacking. It's absolutely ridiculous how much hacking has increased. You should report it but most likely they already know about it. Chalk it up with 2 or 3 years of ambient sounds and broken silencers, my friend. Welcome to Alpha. It's going to be a long journey.

Yeah I have noticed this has been getting worse and worse. I don't understand how servers work, but maybe because the Admins/Renters are less interested in playing because of the hacking or just bored of the game, then they don't log in and see the game did not restart correctly? This is my best guess as to why more and more servers do not allow you to join them. We talked about this the other day but we are not sure why. I use to think there is an exploit where 1 to 4 people servers don't allow new players to join. Somebody claimed that it's just that the refresh list we see does not reflect the actual current status of some servers. But how is it possible that there is a "ghost" image of a server that has 1 to 4 people in it.... you can't join it, but it's says it's there. I get the fact that some that say 0/40 just never restarted correctly and you can't join. But how can we see a ghost image of 4/40 and when you try to join it does not exist?

Maybe the ridiculous ways that Zombies are currently broken is to distract us from the increasing level of hacking. I can't wait until we see some major improvements in a lot of the big problems. The game is already fun so it's gonna be great when things are so badly broken like zombies and general combat.

Face reality much?If Valve or Bohemia really cared about hacking at all they could write software that takes a "snap shot" or "finger print" of a computer's operating system ID and then never allow them to install a second DayZ or Steam account. Or the 12 other ways they could prevent hacking in the first place. What's unacceptable is the amount of hacking in this Alpha. It's a level of hacking I've never seen before in 20 years of playing video games. Pure logic based on all of our facts say it's a business decision at this stage to just let BE ban people every now and then rather than devote resources to preventing hacks in the first place. It's a fact that you can cheat your ass off, pretty much anonymously, then simply purchase another Steam and Dayz account. So how can you say the fellow you are responding to is being slanderous? These are all facts that Bohemia and Valve could care less about hacking and purchasing new accounts. In fact, it might be a business model as I mentioned before. I'm not saying they wont try to prevent hacking in final release, I pray to God they will, but for now, it's a business model to not prevent hacks and it's very insulting to legit players.
