So it's probably not much help to you but I can read Cyrillic, so I just read the name of the town as I wander in. Most towns have an "entering" and "exiting" sign with the name.

Hmmm, go out into the open field and fire a gun off near Grishno. I didn't see many when I first started earlier, I'd love to have that problem again, earlier today I was jumped by three at once in some village. Ran like 2k to get rid of them and still had to kill one.

Are you manually compensating for bullet drop instead of zeroing? As in, simply aiming a little bit higher? You may be hitting the target the same but hitting lower than you originally planned. Or there's some other mechanic at work.

If everyone has to do it, why would it be a balance issue? Also, I think it's a video game that is (and wants to be) a zombie apocalypse simulator in a lot of ways. Not sure there's much of a distinction there. -

A guy walked in on me earlier in a house, he was unarmed and I had a machete in my hand. We watched each other for a minute then he went his way and I went mine. Best outcome, in my opinion, so I think that makes me friendly. Usually though I just try to avoid people.

On a slightly related topic, can one quickly switch from scope to ironsights? Or do you have to manually remove the scope first?

Killing someone at 600m for no reason other than the lulz is a dick move. Has nothing to do with being a coward or not. If that guy at 600m is a legitimate and active threat to you or your friends though, not killing them would be stupid and stupid is far worse than cowardice has ever been.

Just to echo the sentiment already given, the only cars available should be Ladas. I could see some sort of motorbike as well for the particularly suicidal.

I've switched over to experimental for now but I was also looking for 1st person servers with a proper day/night cycle and preferably rare restarts. It got me wondering: why don't we see servers with time modifiers to allow more cycles per RL day?

Fell off one of the walls on Devil's Castle, apparently the walkway gets unexpectedly narrow in parts. I was just sight-seeing with no immediate plans.

I'm in the "I give myself quests" camp. I'm still new to the game, so picking a destination to explore is still one of the primary quests. Also there are things mentioned like find x magazine or in the beginning it's often "find a map" (I don't use external maps). -

You're just pointing out that currently it's way too easy to acquire and maintain military-level equipment and that the environment isn't sufficiently dangerous.

This is just a depressing story. I loved the cz527 I found but never came across the mag. That one was wasted through game sorcery is emotionally distressing.

I really want to see hypothermia and diseases now, my first few hours playing I just assumed they were in. It was raining and I just hid inside and stripped trying to get dry. I want that experience back and for it to be a valid threat.

Yeah, I think the problem is that though it's described as having one of the most common ammunition types it's rare to find bullets or the mag for this in civilian areas where it would make sense.
