I guess we should be thankful there are so many varieties of hacks available. Otherwise, they'd just spawn nukes every 3 minutes because that's the only hack they had. Still would be nice to somehow prevent teleporting and spawning non-sanctioned items. But since I don't know how the engine works, it's difficult to suggest any solutions. -

Just to clarify, you're not a hacker, you're a script kiddie. You hate being victimized by cheaters and then turn around and do it to others? You're worse than the people who hack for fun and are only contributing to the downfall of DayZ. -

I've already gotten my money's worth out of Arma 2 with this mod, and I will happily buy the standalone. I am just wondering if the mod is officially retired in favor of the new game. Just read the mod and standalone will be developed in parallel. Hopefully the mod continues to be fun until the standalone is available.

You have very few valid points. They are infected, not zombies. The weapon nerf was arma, not dayz. I can agree it makes secondary weapons useless to have. Any "hacker" that steals your vehicle can spawn keys to said vehicle. If you want to keep it, assign one person to watch it 24/7 Ditto with the camps. You don't really need them, anyhow. Items are not duped because they are rare, they are duped because they can be. Thermal should go, though. NVG's are the only reason any night servers have any population whatsoever. -
It's already been stated that they know about the issue and are working on it. You, and others, need to read more before posting. Granted, it is buried in 50 pages of thread, but given the history of the mod fixes, it's usually safe to assume that they are not ignoring the issue.

I don't trust anyone I don't know and I assume they will kill me for my gear, so I act first. If you are armed, you are prepared to take a life and are fair game. I will not, however, pretend to be your friend and then kill you. My intentions are clear from the start.

this is one of those things I've always wanted but never thought to suggest it. I am also for replacing the murder/bandit counters with this timer. Make it so the people who survive the longest have their names on the leader boards and people will care more about not dying again.

I think making the flashlight a melee weapon would be cool, since it is currently useless to me. Personally, I have no issues with the starting gear as it is. Run to a barn, grab a hatchet, and you are set. Obviously, this isn't an easy fix. They tweak it with each revision. This is one scenario where saying "it's alpha" is completely okay. I agree. Every hit should not cause you to bleed out. Maybe every 4 or 5 hits. And then 9 or 10 hits and you break a leg. Works pretty good for me. Try finding a cluster of fir trees and running through them. 70% of the time, it will lose zombies; and the other 30% of the time, the next cluster of trees will lose them. Yes, the spawns need to be reworked a bit. I'm not sure this can be considered to be making the game worse, though, as it has always been an issue. I would actually like to see an official thread of known issues and their importance to the dev team. Then, hopefully, these redundant posts would be cut down substantially. Maybe even add a poll option to allow the community to vote for the importance of the features (using numbers 1-10, and only use each number once).

they could be slowed down while keeping them "infected". Just make them struggle with running. I'm sure if you are chock full of a virus, it is plausible that sprinting is going to be tough. Then we could have what we want, and rocket can keep his infected zombies.

The severity of the hacks for this game go way beyond simply cheating. I have to think you are a hacker if you truly believe we shouldn't say anything about these. Maybe if there is enough of an uproar from the dayz community, even if rocket and team cannot fix it, they will have enough pull with BI to be able to fix them in the Arma engine. These hacks are spreading each day, and it is only a matter of time before the fans lose hope and just stop playing. My friends have already decided to shelf dayz until the hacking subsides a bit, and I've started playing forumZ until I think the possibility of having fun returns.

Adding a "who killed who" notice isn't going to help anything, as the deaths are either from falling or from the legit players you have been teleported to. The best way to fix this is to monitor excessive changes in coordinates and revert them. This one fix could alleviate more than half of the hacks. The other fix would be to monitor the cause of death to make sure it was from legal weapons. BI is not going to fix it, so it is unfortunately up to the mod team to hack something together.

I just wish it was made clear which hacks are the responsibility of arma to fix and which are dayz's responsibility. I hope the plan isn't to just ban the skiddies. With several hundred, maybe thousands, of them, this is a futile approach to fixing the problem. -

sometimes the keys stick, like if you go unconcious or startup the steam overlay. just hit the w key again (or whatever direction you are moving), and you'll stop moving. -
People only go to the NW airfield for two reasons: 1. Kill other players 2. Find weapons and gear meant for killing other players Same goes for players at any military spawn.

Anytime I kill someone, I sit back and wait for them to come back to loot their body. It isn't cheating, it's patience. I don't see how having legitimate weapons is hacking. Exploiting and hording, maybe, but hardly hacking.
