  1. I only keep gear in my tent that I'm willing to lose, so no biggie. I think it should be limited to one tent per player. Place another tent and lose the previous one, with everything in it. I can't wait for a full tent overhaul, though, to see how much more I can put in before it starts launching items out.

  3. I've noticed this in the past few patches, but never was certain what caused it. I'd be complaining about how dark it was and my friends would say it was still daytime for them. Reconnect and, sure enough, daytime! I've also seen people running around with flares at 5pm.
  4. 1. Server hopping for gear: only allow players to store items in tents if they retrieved those items on that server. 2. Server hopping for position/fleeing: keep player logged in for 2 minutes on the server after logging. Not sure how easy it is to keep them from rejoining before the 2 minutes expires, though.

    Zombie movement - the zig-zag shuffle.

    They usually go from limping/crawling around to sprinting, so it makes sense they would have some issues maintaining a straight line. How about changing the running animation to stumbling (or just using your imagination)?

    Ammo

    so you would have to find magazines AND ammo? Instead of boxes of ammo, just give each type a maximum carry amount (one slot), and allow the player to find loose rounds, which they then have to load and unload to magazines (one slot each). not sure if this is the same as you suggest, but it would give you the opportunity to manually consolidate mags that are low on rounds.

    An Idea to Stop most of the PvP

    +1 Guns need to draw more zombies. That being said, footsteps should draw fewer zombies than guns. In both cases, they should only prompt investigation, not instant targeting. But this could also be used to draw all the infected out of towns, thereby making looting a breeze, so I'm not completely sure it's a great idea.
  8. I like your suggestion about bones. The rest seems like it's just changing around some numbers. The numbers are meaningless. The zero count of blood could very well mean "less than 2 liters": fall unconscious too many times and you will likely die. You need to ignore the debug monitor and pay more attention to your status icons and various status indicators (shaking hands, blurry vision, etc). Also, being unconscious for two hours would make for a pretty boring death.

    New zombie idea/type: Flocking zombies

    it's never been explained why zombies/infected don't attack eachother. best guess is if you draw attention to yourself, they examine you more closely to see if you are, indeed, not a zed. I think having other zed's throw their comrades into alert states by sprinting by them is definately feasible. After that, it's pretty easy to notice the only human without rotting flesh. But I agree that the current zeds need to be fixed, first.

    3D Positional VOIP

    I'm not sure if the engine supports this, but imagine using your mic in game and having every creature within 40 meters able to hear you. Maybe add volume analysis/falloff so you can whisper and not alert zeds. It would be nice to be able to walk into a building and announce your presence, or to yell at someone to "Stop shooting I'm friendly!". Also, limiting the range and letting the zeds hear it would cut down on voip spamming and bandwidth, as not everyone is going to hear you.
  12. this game isn't about teamwork, though; it's about survival. If you feel you would survive better on your own, you shouldn't be punished for that. Fixing exploits to maintain a seamless world is the best way to fix rampant murdering. If you can solve server hopping and gear/equipment exploits, you've fixed the majority of the issues and will have the mod as intended.

    Starting item suggestion: Empty Canteen.

    I like the idea of drinking from watering holes and wells. Spawning with a canteen is too easy, though. There is no justification for the current spawn gear beyond rocket's own desire for tears.

    why don't you get infected by an apocalyptic virus that makes you nearly undead, then tell us how easy it is to run in a straight line.

    Third Person suggestion

    I agree that it needs to be kept, but it does need to have some tradeoffs with first person. I think the accuracy bit when not aiming down sights is a great way to balance it.
  16. I don't think it should be easy to identify bandits, because it gives you a false sense of security. This person could still commit a crime of opportunity, even if they aren't a bandit (yet). I do agree, though, that self defense should not be considered murder. My approach is usually a peace offering. Tell them a location of one of my stashes. We may not travel with each other, but at least we can still work together.

    Bring Back Starter Weapon Petition

    -1 This is not an FPS; you are not John Rambo; learn to stealth. I've played the past 6 hours armed to the teeth and not firing a shot (except at a bunny). The only zombie I agro'd post 1.7.1 was because it got dark while I was in a barn and bumped into him on the way out. Luckily, I outran him.
