Had you at any point taken any damage from a zombie or another player?
-
Yes it's entirely possible to kill someone with one shot. There are many factors that could be involved in the death and here is one of them just in case you didn't already know. How long had your character survived before being one shot killed?
-
When I first got the game and found my first gun and a couple of rounds of ammo, well, I encountered an unsuspecting semi-geared survivor running away from some zombies...I had limited ammo and it was either get my first kill or help the guy and shoot the zeds. Well, I shot the man in the back. I regret it but I was newb and itching to kill someone. I now play cautiously friendly and have never done anything like that since.

I own two M91/30s. One from Tula Armory and another from Izhevsk and they are both VERY accurate rifles. Yes they lack proper scope mounts but they are not inaccurate as you say. As far as reliability, psssh, what is there to fail? I have never had FTF or FTE issues. They are built as solid as any rifle can be and that's why they have lasted through the test of time. With that said, that is why they are good in DayZ.

I can't read a map very well and I am always lost. I wander aimlessly in the hopes that I find something interesting. Why is there no option for always being lost? ..on the other hand I did happen to stumble into a heli crash and geared up quite well right before the .49 wipe. >:(

Pooping... hmm.. where will the line be drawn if that's introduced? Will female characters be required to carry more rags than the male characters for that, uhh, monthly time? Would they be more susceptible to wild animal attack if they didn't use a 'pristine' rag? I'm not trying to be disgusting or sexist here, but if we're talking about having poop in the game, why stop there? Feminine hygiene should be next, no? Considering it is a survival point women have to deal with. I do not think either should be included.

I have only found Sporter mags so far. Still looking for SKS Stripper clips. Many, many hours into searching with no 7.62x39 love. :o
-
No tent in hours of play. No 7.62x39 either. Bot of those are unicorns to me now. I have ammo for every gun except the one I am carrying. I've been on the lookout for a tent too... nope.avi

I agree. That would be nice. Seems I have to hop many servers before I find one that's connected when my usual server isn't populated. It's always unnerving to see that it isn't connected and I'm a fresh spawn rather than moderately geared. Quite annoying, but it is alpha..blah blah blah

Most game breaking bug... Please fix asap
jacksparrows replied to supafly's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't call that the most "game breaking bug" when servers are crashing randomly and unexpectedly causing character loss, zombies mauling you through closed doors/walls, hot-bar glitching out and switching items for no apparent reason, bad desync, etc etc.. DayZ is under development and things will change. Problems will be fixed. New problems will be created. It's Alpha blah blah blah... I guess it's all opinion though. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

It appears to me that they are still getting in but a lot less often than before. More testing is needed. -
I found a pristine LRS in a garage last night. I don't know the map very well yet so I cannot tell you what town I was in, but I do know it was in the NW and not military related. Loot seems to be more scattered out as of .49. I have tons of ammo for every gun I don't have but none for the gun that I do. (SKS) DayZ has a funny way of seemingly knowing what you are after and making it very hard to locate. lol

It's quite annoying and doesn't make a lot of sense how it works right now but I don't think fixing it is high on the priorities list.

I recently upgraded to a G3258 Pentium Haswell FROM a Q6600. The Q6600 even overclocked to 3.2Ghz was not acceptable for DayZ in my opinion. To many frame dips and random lag. The single core performance is just not good enough. Now, having upgraded on the CHEAP to a new unlocked Pentium Haswell chip, combined with a good Z97 motherboard and a 4.4Ghz overclock, DayZ is silky smooth with the same GPU. Which is an old GTX 460. Medium to high settings, consistently high FPS without lag. The upgrade with motherboard, cpu, closed loop water cooler and ram was less than usd $300 using existing components like case, psu, gpu, etc.. Bottom line, the Q6600 was a great chip for its day but when it comes to gaming and poorly optimized games like DayZ it cannot compete with the raw clock speed of a newer architecture Pentium chip. Not to mention an i5 or i7 series processor. For the money, I highly recommend the G3258 Pentium chip. I do not think it can be beat in the budget gaming segment...even by AMD.

There is a thread for this type of question but I will save you a little trouble and answer here. Will it run? Probably not well. DayZ in my experience is very CPU dependent and it's not optimized much if at all. My old Core 2 Quad (Q6600 Overclocked @ 3.2Ghz) did not run it very well and that's with a higher clock than your Duo and two more processing cores. DayZ doesn't make use of multi-core processors very well beyond 2 cores in my experience. I built a Pentium G3258 on a Z97 motherboard, water cooled it and overclocked it to 4.4Ghz and now DayZ is silky smooth. That's with only 2 cores and no hyper-threading on a "Pentium" chip. The clock speed of those two cores, however, made all the difference in performance. It might be time for a CPU/Mobo/Ram upgrade for you, unfortunately. Your results may vary, but don't expect much from an old Core 2 Duo.

To the guy I ran into at the helo crash site this morning...
jacksparrows replied to s1rGr1nG0's topic in General Discussion
I just ran in to two armed guys in a small town I don't know the name of. They asked me to exit the house I was in, in which I complied. They asked if I had ammo for my gun, which I replied no. They said carry on and left me alone. There are some decent players out there. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
jacksparrows replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
I agree. It is annoying and happens far to often. I'm just waiting patiently for a fix. -
I play fine with minimal lag and respectable FPS from a lowly intel G3258 PENTIUM that's water cooled and overclocked to 4.4Ghz. Two cores. No hyperthreading. Medium settings on a GTX460 V2. Everything plays fine. DayZ in its current state is VERY CPU dependent. The high clock made it almost buttery smooth.
