Arma 2 combined operations is on half price sale right now on steam. If you want to play the mod, now is a good time to get started.

In play with six create a collection and put o/a and dayz in it, to launch right click the collection and click launch collection. There are many ways to launch but in play with 6 I think this is the most simple, let me know how it goes.

Not green mountain but still something really weird. Well I just finished playing and recording on Taviana, and at the time didn't think anything strange of what I had seen. I was in a city (no idea which one, I don't know taviana all that well) and as I was running through the streets I spotted something running for a split second. At the time I just took it as a player or zombie agroing a player, either way, player related. But after reviewing the footage while editing I had another look and I honest to god don't know what it is, but it's not a player or a zombie. In fact there were no zombies around, they hadn't spawned so a zombie is ruled out. As for a player, well I'm 99% sure it's not a player. Yes it's running and has what appears to be a gun in its hand, but it has no colour, no proper full shape, although it does look human shaped. It is running in the complete opposite direction from me and is quite far away so that rules out a shadow. I though these kinds of sightings in games were myths, especially in DayZ, and I'm happy to be given a rational explanation. For now though, I'm naming it the ghost of Taviana. Anyway, has anyone else came across anything weird on Tavi?

I haven't actually played vanilla in a long while, is there still populated servers? Is it shoot on sight on there as well. Might jump on tomorrow night and see how it is.

Please don't, not everyone is out to get you and just shooting people on sight is the reason the game is going down hill. But yes, people do lie, don't turn your back on anyone, just because they say they are friendly doesn't mean they are. Personally, I'm friendly, which is difficult these days with the shoot on sight mentality that has spread, but it's worth it for the reaction you get when you meet someone and don't shoot them, it's like they forgot that it's not a written rule to shoot everyone and they usually are rather pleasant to you, more out of surprise that you haven't killed them.

Not on my computer right now so can't check exactly how but you can change the beta through steam to match the version, that's what I done and it fixed the issue for me. I think you right click beta, properties, beta and in there is a way to change it, I think, that's from memory, someone on their PC might be able to confirm it for you.

How well populated is your server and what map is it on? Sounds like it could make a good video trying to attack that base.

Yes it should run it pretty well, roughly 40fps I would guess (depending on settings). I had a worse CPU than that before the upgrade and it ran it fine, graphics card doesn't really have too much say in Arma.

Both the Mod and standalone are worth playing, although there is currently more to do in the Mod. In terms of opinion, yes others input is nice but really the best thing to do is as Bull Durham said and wait until combined ops goes on sale, that way if you don't like it then you haven't lost a whole lot of money. Keep in mind though that Arma 2 is a good game in itself and is worth playing even without the DayZ element.
