i have varying experiences with shaking some chasers, but i've found a bug where running on a pier or into a firehouse will force the zeds to walk. other than that, they are always very close to me, enough that trying to vault over anything gets me enough hits to start bleeding, wasting blood while they're chasing me still.

are you on the latest beta? direct chat is working now on the latest beta, that's why it's required for the latest mod version -
yeah, the aggro distance needs to be fixed. i pulled three that were inside a hanger while i was quietly standing outside. they're pretty broken as of now

can you use any of what you listed to distract them while they're chasing you' date=' barely two feet away from you? because i haven't been able to. so yeah, i'd like them to be more distracted. i'd like them to pick a goat over me when i lead them past one so i can get away. it's totally unbalanced when zed's from two cities away are still following you. i'm all for needing to run far to get away from a pack chasing you, but it's total bullshit when you can do nothing but run for hours because they don't tire or get distracted or get lost, all because you're spawning without a gun anymore.

awesome! i'd love to be able to set up some sort of temporary base/home for myself while i'm playing. just because the game itself doesn't have objectives to complete doesn't mean we can't make some up for ourselves.

i wish half the people that cry alpha knew what it meant too. there are so many posts with people suggesting things and then some idiot walks in, shouts about how it's alpha and meant for testing and derails the thread with his/her nonsense. it's alpha, it's also meant for radical changes to see what works and what doesn't.

yeah, i don't see why not. you can use the blood and the meat for bait too, but that would mean there would need to be traps implemented some how.

it's still a disease that should affect their brain. regardless of what brand of zombie they are, they still lumber around not doing much, clearly they aren't that bright.

I keep seeing posts like this: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13467&pid=124325#pid124325 and i just don't understand why some people are against making the night time brighter. i get that night is supposed to be challenging and all, but you can see at night in reality. if this game is trying to go a more realistic path, seeing in the dark is realistic. Rocket, put a moon in the sky. the moon can light up the night as it does in reality. all the challenging aspects of the night are still present, you can just now see even if you don't have any nvg's. with people bandits sniping people all the time, how could you not think it would be a good idea to make it easier to see at night when you've lost your nvg's? the kind of people, like in the post linked, are the ones threatening the longevity of this game. the hardcore garbage they demand be present should be in veteran mode only, regular mode should be considerably more realistic. there are people saying you, Rocket, don't care about your playerbase's opinion. that this is your mod and you'll do as you want, but you have to prove that's a lie and you have to show everyone that you're listening to the feedback we're giving you -
i'd like this idea put in because more zombies is always more fun, but they need to fix their speeds first. if they can put them back where crawlers usually hang out in a long chase, that would make the difference

i like the idea of the audio hallucinations, but nightmares and visual hallucinations would be too much, in my opinion

there will always be people that do it for the kills, that's how games work. it's a tough island, you have to survive. there are only three steps. scavenge, slay, survive. you can't do just pick which one to do -
adding a simple, 'are you sure' dialog to the respawn/restart button would solve it

please don't mumble so much in the future. if you find that you're forgetting what you're talking about as you're recording, just write it down beforehand and use your notes as a guide. better yet, record the video first without any voice over then go back and add your voice over advice while you're watching the preshot video sample. great advice though, very much needed now that this game is gaining some traction -

well i'm still not able to get past loading.. so.. yeah -
i use the worrom mod updater, it seems to be the best imo. and the arma2oa server browser is fine.. why use anything third-party for that?
