i know DayZ is a new game and all, but i at least thought the people here knew not to feed the trolls. you should all be embarrassed. i'm embarrassed just having to remind you people a simple internet rule.. -
ah, i didn't know about the reequip glitch. that's pretty convenient, and everyone is right about all the hatchets that spawn. there's no need to worry about losing a hatchet. just a suggestion

realistically you can grab things from your bag and use them immediately. you don't grab a pencil from your pack, put it in your front pocket then take it out again and start using it. i never said anything about telekinesis, all i mentioned was the ability to use the items straight from your bag without having to move anything to a gear slot. please read things.

I agree with the general sentiment here of making the player hit abort and then telling him he'll be ejected in x amount of time - I'm curious as to whether alt + f4 would still work in this instance. it should be a serverside calculation, or at least a central server calc. that way if the client disconnects, the character is still technically in game and is forced to wait that 60 seconds even if no one is controlling it -
quick question: what makes you think stats and inventory won't be wiped when the game moves into beta status or when it moves into release? stop crying about your gear, no one cares about you or how long you've played, how much gear you've collected. the whole point of the game is to survive longer and longer but not forever. don't like it? get the fuck out and go play CoD where you keep your gear.

faaaan fucking tastic, you ROCKet :P - add key bind labels and tooltips soon - add a confirmation dialog when you click on 'respawn' - remove 'restart' option as it doesn't do anything.. - make the moon appear every night - make melee weapons have infinite ammo - add item usability directly from backpack love you

there is literally no reason to turn this game into a raunchy sexcapade. though the thought of stumbling upon a couple in an.. intimate state in the woods is hilarious, especially with direct chat, lol but no. i like the alcohol idea though. if they added a stress meter, then you could monitor that and alcohol could be one of many relievers.

There needs to be clear indications of who is good and bad.

So you've come across another person in-game but you're not sure if he's a good guy or a bad guy. What should you do? Well for starters you should find cover! Always be in cover, good or bad if he can't see you, he can't harm you. After you've found cover, use your mic or the direct chat text to ask him! 'Hey, you there by the church! Are you friendly?' if he responds with 'No' or doesn't respond, then turn around and leave. He's baaaad news. If he responds with 'Yes', turn around and leave. You've got to be a complete idiot to fall for that. Moral of the story: Assume everyone is bad and play with just your friends Or grow a sack and stop worrying about losing your items if you get betrayed.
