Yeah, screenshots are worthless unless you have video evidence, because who's going to take your word that you were really being hacked and not just suffering from one of the countless glitches in the game? There's currently very very little, if anything at all, that can be done against hackers from a player's standpoint.
-
I find it disturbing that you consider "Hacking, glitching, pointless bambi-KoS'ing, and acting in disgusting ways" (which are things I said ruin people's experience) just "part of the DayZ experience." Well no, it's not, and it certainly doesn't have to be. I play many different PC games, and if I'm in a game with someone who is abusing the chat function, speaking endless profanity, acting in a perverted manner, or just being a troll in general, I'll quit right in the middle of the game and not even bat an eye about it. What you're refusing to accept is that that has NOTHING to do with "maybe this really isn't the game for you." It has everything to do with me choosing the kind of individuals I want to play with or against. Please just try to understand this simple concept. People have every right to log off against those who are ruining their gameplay, and that applies to every video game that has ever been created, not just DayZ.

It has nothing to do with me not being able to handle the game. Hacking, glitching, pointless babmi-KoS'ing, and acting in disgusting ways are PROBLEMS and are NOT meant to be highlights of DayZ. They do more harm than good. And the best way to ensure I am not affected by them is to log off and join a different server. It'd also be stupid of me to sit there and let them act that way and allow them the satisfaction of ruining someone's game. Again, as I've said a million times, I don't believe that bending over for them makes you more 'manly' and less of a 'coward.' All you seem to be doing in this thread is defending the plague of bambi-killers and hackers who do nothing but ruin other people's experience...which makes me wonder if you're one of those individuals.
-
Yes because all that was stated in my post. :/ You replied to an individual who said in his post, "Also, getting cuffed, force fed rotten sh#t and called names is not my kind of game" His gaming experience was being ruined by immature children, and he is not obligated to sit there and listen to people use words you'd only hear back in study hall where all the kids sit in a corner and whisper about private parts and giggle. If that's hilarious to you, well, more power to ya, man. But I'm logging off on them and will wait for them to come here and cry like so many people here have done. Well great, I'm happy for you. What's your point?

Some people don't enjoy vulgarity, racism, or perverted little kids in their video game experience. I was stopped by a clan once and was told to "get on your knees and give me a bj." They were a bunch of grown men giggling like pubescent 13yr old kids. That's just disgusting, IMO, and not funny in the least bit. I don't have the patience for vulgar speech, perverted acts, or racism in ANY video game PERIOD, and I don't have to sit there and entertain their perverted games ESPECIALLY since there's no way of knowing who they are so that I can report them for violations. So I logged off on them, and they had 30 seconds to do whatever they wanted with my vacant character, but I guarantee they didn't reap the satisfaction they were hoping for. And then they probably came here and started crying because someone combat logged on them. The only people I see crying are the trolls and hackers who wish they could have their way with fresh spawns. Well boo hoo, cry me a river.

The New Loot Economy - How the heck does it work?
chepaco3290 replied to Mr Jizz's topic in General Discussion
No one really knows for sure. -
Amazing that someone would come here and be willing to bend over for hackers and trolls.
-
I always wondered if this was true. I've seen several youtube videos of players yelling to their buddy "Red chain, red chain!" And I never could figure out what that stupid thing meant. This makes sense though now.

Did anything happen today with the maintenance ?
chepaco3290 replied to anotherdeadhero's topic in General Discussion
Why? -
Dude, it was answered already. Go back and read.

NO ONE here is defending logging JUST because they're about to lose a fight. That's NOT what this thread is about. People are defending logging off is specific situations where your player is being trolled. If you asked me, or anyone else here, what we thought if a full geared player at an airfield logs off just because he was being shot at, I, along with everyone here, would unite with you in saying how ticked off we'd be at that player. I can't stand combat logging just as much as the next guy if there's no legitimate reason to do so. Thiunk things over before you post, man.
-
Where did I ever say that I log off "because you don't want to lose ur [my] gear." I even said I'd log off if I had absolutely nothing to lose! Either you didn't read this entire thread, or you lack basic reading comprehension. I'm not, nor have I ever, defended combat logging in totality. I've only defended it in situations where you're being unnecessarily griefed. I hate it just as much as the next guy when someone who's looting military barracks finds himself in a gunfight and runs away and logs off. If you're at a military location or are fully geared, you have a target on your back. That's just part of this game. So I'm not sure where you got this idea that I think it's ok for anyone to combat log in any situation ever.
-
If it was found out that you were cheating or had the whole thing rigged, he'd have every right not to allow you the satisfaction of trolling him all the way to end.
-
No, I'm trying to show that there's nothing wrong with logging against trolling and hacking. Yes, seen those tweets. Great. But that doesn't mean they introduced it to make it "illegal" for people to log off while they're suffering from trolls or hackers. I doubt if you spoke with Mr. Dean, that he'd tell you "Sorry man, we introduced these countermeasures, so you're just going to have to bend over and let that hacker/12yr old CoD kid have his way with you."

Sandbox, "innovative" or "Undeveloped"
chepaco3290 replied to Cpanther's topic in General Discussion
That's a good way of putting it. It really is the evolution of sandbox games. The whole "sandbox" idea is very new, so we should expect it to evolve as the years progress. With games like Star Citizen coming up, along with Life Is Feudal MMO (TBA), I truly believe that we're seeing the next generation of gaming in the making. -
Sandbox, "innovative" or "Undeveloped"
chepaco3290 replied to Cpanther's topic in General Discussion
I voted "undeveloped" only if the definition includes, as you said, "skip things like, Story, Cut scenes, Missions, Plot, Skills tress, Animations, Voice Overs, Dialogues, AI development..." However, that is not always the case. There are many sandbox titles that are attempting to add to its sandbox. Life Is Feudal is a good example. They made a bold move in introducing RPG elements (skill trees) into their gameplay, and I'd say they've done so quite successfully. Simply put, not all sandbox games are created equal. Some are more developed than others. -
Because it is not stated ANYWHERE (unless there's a DayZ Bible somewhere that I don't know of) that the introduction of this 'timer' = illegal to log off against trolling and hacking. That's your opinion, bud. And there's nothing wrong with having an opinion, so long as you don't try to pass it off as holy inspired truth.
-
If I'm not anywhere near a military location, and I have nothing on me besides my own 2 fists and child's backpack, there's absolutely no reason why a fully geared clan with M4's needs to shoot me unless they need my t-shirt for rags, in which case they can ask me for it and I'd gladly give it to them. Heck, I'd even go as far as tearing it in rags for them to save them the extra click of the mouse. There are PLENTY of situations where discerning trolls is quite easy and commonsense. If you lack the ability to discern when someone's trolling you, it makes me wonder if you've yet to experience high school.
-
Isn't there a 30 second timer with DayZ? And regardless if you log out prone, you always log in standing up. I'm not sure if this "standing up" takes place during the 30 seconds though.
-
Your extensive vocabulary, coupled with you unearthly ability to intellectually debate with your peers, is absolutely riveting. You're masculinity is unfathomable. You, sir, are the greatest man to ever walk the face of this planet; a man among boys. Here, you may take my beans.
-
No one said it does. Holy cow. Not all KoS'ers are trolls, but all trolls are KoS'ers. I don't think people realize that I don't have a problem with KoS'ing in general. It's the trolling-because-I'm-bored kind of KoS'ing that I have no patience with, and I'm under no obligation to entertain those individuals with my existence in game.
-
What I'm saying is that it is everyone's right to not grant DayZ trolls, whether they be in the form of a hacker or a KoS'er, the amusement of ruining the fun of this game. There's no reason for a fully geared player/clan to randomly kill a fresh spawn who only has the shirt on his back and a shovel. And no one is obligated to make themselves become fuel for trolls. If you enjoy being their food, be my guest buddy. You've made only 15 posts, and the only posts I've seen have had insults in them. Insulting people doesn't make your opinion any stronger, and it certainly doesn't make you sound very intelligent either. Keep up the insults and your time here won't be very long. No, that's not what I'm talking about. It's not in fear of losing one's character, it's in retaliation against trolls, including hackers, who do not deserve the satisfaction of being a troll. If all I have is a ladybug backpack filled with a few generic items, I'm not afraid of losing my character one bit. So that's not the reason for logging off.
-
Says who? You? I'm sorry, I didn't get the memo that you were the DayZ authority around here... All I'm saying is that I will not fault anyone for logging out to avoid a KoS'er, or especially a hacker. You can disagree with me, that's fine, but leave your "coward" talk to yourself. It doesn't make you sound macho at all.
-
Get off your hypocritical high horse, buddy. If you're going to defend their right to play how they want to play, you ought to also defend everyone else's right to log off so that the KoS'er can't enjoy the satisfaction of killing them. Players have just as much a right to deter KoS'ing as the KoS'er has to KoS. I know you think you're hot stuff hiding behind an internet profile accusing other individuals of cowardice, but you've got no one convinced.
-
I personally try not to combat log (especially in areas where I deserve to be shot), but I will absolutely not blame anyone for logging out if they find themselves caught in the middle of a bunch of immature KoS'ers who only want to kill you for killing's sake. I have no patience for that crap at all, and any opportunity one gets to combat log so that the KoS'er can't reap the "enjoyment" of killing said individual should do it. I simply will not allow a KoS'er to be amused at MY expense. If all you die hard "Thou shalt not combat log" individuals want to give that CoD 12 year old kid the satisfaction of KoS'ing you, be my guest. You'll just have to forgive me for not following your sentiment.
