Press start, leave game, then join another game that (hopefully) is not overrun with immature children. ;) That mechanic has been in nearly every game since the dawn of multiplayer games.
-
Yeah, because a fresh spawn is TERRIFIED of losing all his stuff he's spent hours collecting. What a coward... You've made no sense since the moment you joined this thread. Give me a break.
-
Hey, guess what? 1+1=3 Thanks for playing. See, I can make baseless claims and be completely wrong too. ;)

And like I've said, a million times, there is NO RULE ANYWHERE that states we as players do not have the right to choose the kind of people we want to play with. NO RULE WHATSOEVER. Show me the rule, buddy. Btw, quoting a dev tweet, and adding your own interpretation and assumptions to it, is NOT a rule.
-
NO, it's like saying I won't play basketball with an opposing team that just shoots from half court every time instead of setting up their offense, because they think it's funny and cute. Is there a rule that says that a basketball team is not allowed to heave half-court shots all day long? Well of course not. But I don't have to play with them. And when they come to the forums, like so many of you have, and cry about combat loggers and how it ruined their "basketball" game because there was no one to goof off with, I really couldn't give a rip. They have every right to play the game that way if they want, just don't come here crying that people logged off on you.

I used golf/tennis as a analogy (which by definition means that it will not be perfect in every imaginable facet, so please don't try to pick it apart because that defeats its purpose) to prove one simple point - every player of any game on this planet has the right to play with whomever they want to play with. And regardless of whether or not you consider someone's "play style" to be legit, that doesn't mean that everyone has to play along. For you to say otherwise is the epitome of arrogance.
-
"People have the right to act however they want on the golf course barring racism, destruction of property, etc. Next time, don't just stop reading and then reply to that post.
-
It's sucks to you because it proves you're wrong. People have the right to act however they want on the golf course barring racism, destruction of property, etc. And that might be their allowable "play style" but that doesn't mean I can't walk out on them and play somewhere else with someone else.
-
That's like saying "if you don't like playing with drunk idiots on the golf course, maybe this isn't the right game for you." No, I just don't want to play with drunk idiots. If you don't like people combat logging against immaturity, maybe you should ask yourself are you playing the right game for you?
-
You're cute.

Dude, I know they're playing how they are allowed to. I've never said otherwise. But the opposite side of the coin is true, in that I get to play the way I want to as well. And if ANYONE doesn't want to play with bambi-KoS'ers or immature kids who think anything to do with sex is hilarious, then they don't have to play along. For you to say otherwise is just arrogant, imo. Just like with the whole tennis/golf analogy. When I used to play at the clubs where I was a member, at the turn (9th/10th hole) a lot of guys would go drop a $100 on their favorite high-priced drink, and then by the 14th hole they'd be drunk out of their mind and start goofing off like they're back in their frat-boy days. I can't tell you how many times I walked away, because that's not the kind of golf that I enjoy or appreciate. Are the allowed to goof off and act stupid so long as they don't violate the country club's rules? Well sure. But I'm not obligated to participate.
-
There's nothing illegitimate about constantly hitting the tennis ball 200yds away instead of returning it to your opponent. I mean, you'll no doubt lose, but no where in the rule book does it say that a tennis player can't do that. It's a totally legitimate play style even though it serves absolutely no beneficial purpose to you, just like bambi-kosing.
-
But they're BOTH games, they BOTH involve people, and they BOTH give each player the right to deem for themselves who they want to play with. I don't care how much you scream "well the devs did such and such, so therefore it's illegal to combat log," no one can force anyone to put up with a bunch of childish individuals just because they happened to log in to a server overrun with them.
-
There was no point to your post at all. You defended bambi-KoS'ers, so regardless of whether you personally do that, you completely lost sight of the context...and then followed it up with some more typical macho speech: "SO we back to you being the only bum hurt person again, it ok specially little johnny your mummy still loves you ." Which was really the predominant point of your entire post, and you know it. You're macho, I'm not. I get it. Btw, no one cares what your wife thinks about you, or that you're hairy. Are you really that desperate for reinforcement? Edit: on a final note, please use punctuation in your posts. It's really not that difficult.

You're exactly right. I've played the game of golf nearly my entire life, and played at a career level for some time before being diagnosed with a medical condition that no longer enabled me to play. Using golf as an illustration, if my fellow player purposely hit their ball into a pond just to see how many times they could make it skip because it made their friends giggle with laughter, I would personally make the decision that that was behavior that I was not required to put up with. I enjoyed a competition, and although they have every right to score a tipple bogey on every hole just to see how high of a score they could get, I also have every right not to waste my time with them. Every player, regardless of what game they're playing, has the right to deem for themselves who they do or do not want to play with. For anyone to say otherwise is just arrogant. If a player doesn't want to play with someone who's bored and wants to kill fresh spawns, then they don't have to. If a player doesn't want to play with a bunch of children who think it's hilarious to handcuff them and pretend to rape them, then they don't have to. That's got nothing to do with being a "coward," and those of you who think so need to by a dictionary. Yes, KoSing is a "play style" and acting vulgarly is also a "play style," but there's not a single player who is obligated to put up with that immature nonsense. You don't get to tell someone to stick around and let you waste their time by hitting that tennis ball like a homerun, or hitting that golf ball across a pond for no other reason than to be a troll.

Awwww look at you, so manly and macho. Gosh you're adorable. Best rebuttal I've ever seen...so full of intelligent framework and clever refutation. Finally, after so many pages, this is what convinced me. *applause*

If every volley my opponent would purposely hit the tennis ball as high into the air as possible because he thought it was hilarious to see how far he can hit the ball, yeah, I'd walk out and join a match somewhere else with someone who actually wants to play tennis seriously and not act immaturely. Is my opponent "allowed" to play tennis that way, even though it ensures he loses the game? Well sure, if that's his "play style", he can play tennis however he wants to. But I don't have to play with him. Geeze, sometimes I think you're purposely trying NOT to understand.
-
This can go both ways, buddy. Maybe you should log off and perhaps return when you're mature enough to not throw a temper tantrum when someone logs off because they didn't want to waste their time playing on a server with a bunch of immature children. Because at the end of the day it is just a game. They're only pixels on a screen. The bum hurt emotions are all yours....

to whoever I killed at NWAF, thanks for the perfect m4
chepaco3290 replied to claws4life's topic in General Discussion
Did it ever occur to you that he might not have AFKed on purpose? Server performance is crap right now, and I get the "red chain", so to speak, all the time. You know, "no message received for __ seconds" There are better explanations for why someone would be AFK in the middle of the freaking NWAF, AT A HELI CRASH SITE nonetheless, than just assuming he did so on purpose. -
That may be why everyone kills you. Do you try to communicate with them through VOIP? Also, make sure your VOIP volume is up. Met a guy who had a broken leg in Novo and was offering to help him, but he wouldn't answer me. I began to think I was being set up, so I started threatening him to either answer me to face a bullet to the face. He finally screamed out that he heard me, and said that his VOIP volume was set all the way down. I would have shot him too.

How is a fresh spawn a coward? A fresh spawn has nothing to lose, so there's nothing to be "afraid" of. If you joined a Call of Duty match with a bunch of stupid little kids who aren't taking the game seriously, I bet you'd quit and join a different game. And if you did, that wouldn't make you a "coward" just because you didn't want to waste your time in a match with immature idiots. Also, there is nothing cowardly about combat logging when you're held up by a bunch of teenage kids who think it's funny to pretend to rape you. Then they come here, perhaps to this thread, and throw a fit that someone combat logged on them, and how "cowardly" it is to combat log, as if preaching against combat logging makes them more of a man. Well, if they don't want people to log off on them, maybe they should play with a little maturity or just play a different game altogether. I seriously don't understand why some of you don't comprehend this? Being a coward is when you're looting a military barracks and begin to take on fire, so you log off. Yeah, THAT'S cowardly. But seriously guys?
-
What do you call them? That's a good point to bring up, to which I have a question for all anti-combat-loggers. If you're fully geared, sitting on top of one of the apartment buildings in Novo and start shooting at a fresh spawn 500m away who then combat logs, why do you get your panties in a bunch and start throwing a temper tantrum? Is is because you were denied the opportunity to needlessly troll another player? That person was 500m away from you, so he wasn't a threat, and he had nothing on him of any value to you. I mean seriously, why does that tick you off? Why do you care so much that someone logs off in that situation? Are you really all that bummed out because you waited up there for 20 minutes and failed to be the big bad bully you had always dreamed of being? And that's the whole point I'm trying to make, Elle. I could care less if I offend the "hacker, glitcher, bambi-KoS'er, or pervert." They can play the game that way if they want, but I don't have to be a participant in their trolling behavior.

I'm not so sure about in game currency, but DayZ definitely needs to look into integrating a persistent economy of sorts if they want to stay relevant for many many years. Running around with nothing to do and nothing to accomplish other than one's own imaginative ideas is only fun for a little while before it becomes numbingly repetitive.

Meant bambies, not babies. Lol. Sorry for the typo. I've more than once said that I would combat log under certain circumstances, and I've laid out several of those circumstances. I'm not a combat logger in the sense of fearing to lose my stuff, because when I'm a bambie, I have no stuff to lose. What's simply amazing is your failure to understand what I'vebeen saying this whole time. Not once have I defended combat logging just for combat logging's sake, as you make it seem.

I assume you're familiar with Battlefield, right? The other day I joined a session and was put in a match against a group of what seemed to be children. In a game where the objective is to beat the other team to the maximum score, these kids thought it'd be funny to pretend to perform 'acts' (you can use your imagination) on each other and shoot offensive terminology on the walls. So I logged off and joined a different game. Were they "allowed" to do this? Sure. Is there a rule that says they can't walk around an act stupid? Nope, no rule at all. Is there a rule that says I can't log off so that they don't receive the satisfaction or acting like idiots in front of me? Nope. Yes, killing bambies and acting in a perverted manner are 'allowed' in DayZ, but unless you're a 12 year old kid who thinks DayZ is the new CoD, you won't find either very entertaining.
