Whilst I'm sure I'm missing something but I'm sure I played king of the hill Arma 3 last night with more than double the number of players you find in DayZ. The frames were better (even though I'm running Arma 3 on Ultra and DayZ on lower settings. Also there was jets flying around, choppers crashing, buildings exploding etc etc etc).Now I still found it boring and wanted to go back to DayZ because I much prefer the game. However my in game experience at this stage doesn't stack up with the above quotes from Rocket. I'm sure in 6 months time or so things will be different though. Playing the mod doesn't make you less likely to moan about standalone. FrankieonPC being an example of this. There are plenty that have gone back to mod because they can't stick SA at the moment.

I was hoping they'd shoot each other too, to be honest. I kinda expected I'd get some stick for it. I've played the game a lot and I've never combat logged once (aside from here is you want to count it). I am really comfortable with my "DayZ ethics" both in the video and in general. To me combat logging is when you remove yourself from the game and away from danger to retain your character and gear. I didn't do that, I did log but only when they made it impossible to talk to them as they were firing (their no doubt infinite clips) into the ceiling. They all came out of the glitch room and almost certainly had dodgy gear (what are the chances of 4 players who choose to glitch for fun all having genuine guns?). I was happy to stay up there taking the mick out of them but that became impossible. If I could run, I'd have ran off the building to avoid giving them the satisfaction of killing me. These t***s sit in their glitch all night waiting for players to come along just to KOS them, I didn't want to feed the trolls and did what I did. If it happened like that tomorrow, I'd do it again. What I didn't show in the video is that when I relogged I found 5 ruined high cap vests in the ATC on top of each other and about 3000 sks rounds (in 4/5 stacks only). I crawled them away and dumped them and then crawled to Krasnostav to fix my leg. It probably took me about an hour to do the above. When if I had I stayed with the "elite squad" i'd have bled out and they'd have got what they wanted and I'd have gotten an easy respawn which was much better for me than what I did instead. I guess some people have a "it's just wrong" no matter what policy. If I'd had even basic gear I wouldn't have done it but I think it's obvious my reasons for logging were not self preservation which is why people combat log.

I quite like the idea of rapelling to be honest. However ladders are deadly enough for me at the moment! Can I just check OP? In the 4th line of your post did mean to say this "something else a make shift net" or are you really that keen to make a bad net? ;-)

Whilst I admit my title was a little overly dramatic, your reply has just made the title worthwhile!!! I'm thinking of printing some leaflets and dropping them around my local town. Maybe I could put an advert in the local paper?

Mod- The original DayZ mod of the Arma 2 game. People still play variations of it and enjoy it.Standalone- Bohemia decided to concentrate on making a dedicated dayz game, evolving on from the mod. Some features in the mod such as cars are not in the Standalone yet but there lots of other features in it already that aren't in the mod. The game is in Alpha and being gradually updated to get to beta and then official release. Experimental- is the Standalone but where the devs do an open test for the upcoming new patch/features before moving to over to stable. Which anyone that bought standalone can access.

The wipe is a huge positive for me! I have no attachment to my gear, perhaps other than dodgy clothing choices. I'd love to be able to play as soon as the servers are back up! It'll be all hunger gamesesque, just like the good old days where the majority have no gear and being a city with gear equals having 4/5 new spawns trying to punch you out. Unlike now when going into a city is like being dropped into "COD17 the loot em up edition." Two hours? You must like getting FULLY geared man! Still completely agree with you tho.

I only just noticed there is a guy walking/flying in the air at 1min 2 secs of this vid!!! Just in the perfect spot to see what he's done, he will be the one to blame whoever he was.

Excellent post! I still don't understand why though. I believe this wont be possible soon, I just don't understand why they take enjoyment from it....I've had a few random "fake hackers" join our private teamspeak from time to time. One kid who was about 14 who was saying he didn't like games, his game was going around with his "gang" and ruining people's Teamspeak channel temporarily. I kept asking him why it was fun and he was unable to give me an answer, in fact he realised he was on a sticky wicket and retreated back from wence he came, thankfully! I'm still sitting in the corner with my face so red it's melting the paint on the wall over me linking to Dayztv in my OP rather than the intended video.

Even with my basic maths I can work out that 50% of people lighting chemlights nust be wrong! When I'm a new spawn I sometimes pick them up and run around with them on high pop servers. Sometimes running around being blatantly obvious (when you have nothing to lose) is a better tactic or at least morse fun than being careful.

Thanks for the beans! Ref the gear, most of his stuff was dodgy. He had too much morphine and I didn't want to keep any of his gear. Since pretty much all I had was a fire axe before I got all the dodgy gear I thought it was the way to go. Also I went to a bit of the map I've never been to which was cool!

Thanks for the kind words a_ruttle. It's been my most popular video so far, but then that doesn't really mean much at the level I'm at. I'm enjoying this youtube lark atm even if I am pretty bad at editing.

If there is no fear that players will shoot you there is no fear! I don't play as a bandit myself but if nobody did I'd be left with a boring game IMO. Running around just hunting animals and surviving would be dull. If I wanted to hunt animals, there's better games where I can do that.
