    Thanks for the fast and differing opinions it gave me a bit to think about. I'm going to be playing pretty casually so I think standalone is the choice for me right now because the full version will be out before I know it. However if I really enjoy the game and I'm looking for some more depth I'll get the mod as well. Thanks for your help.

    Hi, I've been watching DayZ streams since it came out up until a few months ago so I've lost the current knowledge of the DayZ mods and standalone. I'm just curious as to which is the most popular or recommended version of the game? I think standalone would be the best choice because I would get the bang for my buck with updates and eventually the game will be complete. Can anyone shed some light on my question?
