But why did we get all of that and yet no fixes for ambient sounds, zombie collision, silencers broken, terrible response times with controls, desync.... etc? In fairness, it is logical for people to question what is going on in terms of real progress to the fundamental problems. -
LOL WTF? I get punched in the head once and my ass goes down like a little bitch in the game but the check takes over 25 punches? WTF?

Fair enough. You are probably 100% correct. I guess what it boils down to, is it takes a fuck load of work to even begin fixing all the problems in this game. For 8 months of alpha release, if you play the game without reading developer updates, you see zero fixes to all of the things I mentioned. The zombie path issue will be the first major fix that most of the fans can agree on. Silencers, sounds, client side issues screwing up our hot keys and desync, etc....... if they are working hard on this as you claim is mentioned in all of their blogs than I will be extremely pleased to see it come to fruition. We are all excited about this concept and are here because we like DayZ. My attitude is not one of entitlement to where did my money go... I'm simply confused as to why we can't see a fix to any major problems in 8 months. If that's because I'm too ignorant to understand coding, then that's on me. I'm just ignorant of how games work. I can live with that, the fact that I'm wrong.

I didn't say that other game companies too don't care enough about hacking since script kiddies will just purchase 2nd and 3rd copies of the game so they make more in sales....... Has no one else thought of the idea that if they prevented hacking altogether, they would make less sales because these hackers are not purchasing 2nd or 3rd copies of the game? -

I think what he means is..... they already made close to 50 million in sales and at that point, would't you feel like a God and that everything you do turns to gold? What is their motivation to listen to anyone or even complete the game? Just saying maybe that's what some people feel because it explains why major problems with the game are so slowly being addressed or not at all. It would be like getting to bang Kate Upton, if you didn't shave your face and your body was an ugly mess but Kate Upton had sex with you.... would you really be motivated or feel the need to clean up your act? Maybe that's what that guy meant by "Rocket doesn't care what you think". Who does Rocket have left to impress? -
Chickans, Pourk, Bief, whatever Shrub wants we should give it to him.

Or "really" breaks something else like most patches do.... The gun balance may work but maybe now we can't go prone or something. I'm afraid to find out.

Well the irony is.... Admins also have too much power. If an admin is playing, gets killed, he can reset the server and get his character back. They can also loot farm in a way but it's hard to do without breaking rules. Why doesn't Bohemia just once and for all make hacking almost impossible. Oh wait, then kids with mommies credit cards can't purchase their third or fourth copy of the game after they get banned every now and then. -

What do they mean "balancing pass of firearms". Does that mean the just reduced or increased damage or did they increase or reduce bullet dispersion, or both? How do we know how to test it if we don't know what they changed?

I think the only sure fire way to take somebody down is to punch them in the head if they don't have a helmet. Every time someone has tried that to me I got knocked out... every, single, fucking.... time.

Actually, your explanation is awesome. You actually did make me understand why it's hard for the DayZ team to show us that they have been working on fixes. I just never thought about it this way so thanks. I guess I also had trouble understanding that even though a lot of code work might have been done, there is not really a way to show it has pictures, video, etc. I kind of feel like a dick now because maybe DayZ team is working their asses off even though we can't see much results yet. So when do you think we will see more results from all the new coding? Is the fact that some zombies have collision fixed a sign that more and more updates will have big fixes like this? Or, will it take 8 more months to see ambient sound or silencers working?

Should hopper zombies be removed for now before the next stable patch?

What? But we already have the data. They already have the reports from experimental. What is the harm in fixing them off stable and everyone can triumphantly exalt about zombies not walking through walls? This is the most exciting patch in standalone history, the immersion factor of game is ruined by zombie collision in the past, but now we may rejoice in the next patch but the hopper zombie will ruin the chance at gaining immersion of the game. -
Fair enough, but if all of their 8 months of work is being seen in each current experimental patch, then we are in deep trouble and the game will not be ready until 2020. If all of their work is in experimental, then 8 months of work and the only serious problem that is being addressed is zombie pathing. What I'm trying to say is, I believe they have been working hard on other things, but they are not sharing it with us.

But what you people who thinks it's perfectly fine for DayZ management to keep progress obscured don't understand is how bad this looks to people. Why not take part of the 50 million in sales and pay someone to compile exciting updates to how they are fixing the core problems? A small investment in a guy that sees the hard work being done will result in more sales when he releases reports, clips, concept art.... etc. The way DayZ is going out of their way to make it look like not much is being done is why half the population believes this game can not possibly finish by 2020. How can anyone tell they are fixing hit detection, controls, bullet dispersion, broken silencers, ambient sounds, the list goes on and on of things that we have no reason to think they are being worked on after 8 months? Perhaps they only addressed zombie pathing in the last 4 weeks since that is coming soon..... we have no clue.

Well for the love of God, there is only 4 zombies in each city so we have to be excited about any new content at all. Don't you realize this by playing? We would not be getting hard-ons for a new can opener or a chicken added to the game if we had 40 to 60 zombies per town like we should.

So you didn't read the rest? If Bohemia released info on how their new core will work with a proper public relations plan, they would generate more sales. So why is Bohemia going out of their way to keep their core work secret and make it look like not much is being done?

They already nerfed the mosin in last update ridiculously. It takes 3 shots to kills someone if you can hit them with all the new lag and desync. How much more could they "tune down" the mosin before it's a pea shooter? Unless, it's just the prinstine clothes glitch that is making the mosin seem nerfed. It's difficult to tell what is broken by an update and what is a feature.
