Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]
mortaug replied to Blade4777980's topic in General Discussion
Similar experience?!?! the mods are 10,000x better than the PoS Sa will ever be. There is even talk on other forum sites about starting a class action suit for the BLATANT lies the Devs have used. It would make me cackle to see them try to use their excuses in a real court of law. How the hell do I have no warning points??! I've been banned several times -
Nothing reduces PvP KoS like...I don't know...EATING PEOPLE!?!

Yeah that's the funniest shit for a dev to say. Just goes to show how . . . . . dumb some people can seem after reading what they reply with. *** notice this is NOT a direct insult to said dev just a general observation*** -
Things that make me wonder about the whole DayZ deal and idea/direction of the game in general.
mortaug replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
They can call it an alpha all they want, it doesn't make it true. When you release to the general public, you are in beta. Anything outside of your company & select testers is beta. 2 million+ is NOT alpha. The company knew they could scam a ton of money from those that had played the mod or had watched vids of the mod & they did just that. This game will never be finished as the company has spent the money on other games. Just move along to another game as this goes the way of Rust. -

yes I seem to either finds crossbows or bolts. Never both on the same character :( -
So whats every one gonna build/fortify when all that gets added?
mortaug replied to Sirwarriant12's topic in General Discussion
Cool TY for posting that. I am GLAD I was wrong on that point. Unlike IRL where I am an animal magnet, in game I seem to repel them. I have only seen 1 boar, 4 cows & 2 deer in ~100hrs. I do spend most time in the forests & high north though. None of the survivors should be starving as the typical zombie count(depending on game/book/general genre) is 85% - 99% of the population & most within the first couple of days of the first infected within their community. So in they smaller towns and village it should be like a smorgasbord., big cities, OTOH rarely have enough food to last all of their citizens for more than 24 to 48hrs once deliveries stop. That of course is based on US standards not sure how the larger cities in Russian type countries would be. As far as bears and wolves being aggressive towards us. think about it for a minute. The 2 legged animals(us) that they are used to seeing just watch them, are suddenly physically ATTACKING them. This of course changes the way that they behave towards all of us. As far as KoSer's barricading all the spawn points, doesn't it seem more likely that after the first few do that, most of the others will just use those to KoS the others with less work? -

You must not have read any of the THOUSANDS of posts here where every fanboi & Mod says" but it's a pre alpha!" Also the H1Z1 devs themselves state it isn't in pre alpha yet. watch any of the youtube vids. And that's my last response to you, so don't expect any more. Please feel free to post your opinion though, as all opinions are welcome. -

Funny according to you and others a "pre-alpha" is open to us 2 million+ general public users. Theirs is only open to internal testers and a select group of youtubers/twitch users. So you are wrong . . . . . . . . . again. -
Mosin-Nagant "Obrez" Modification? [Torchia Tweet]

Actually the pressure is the same, you just get less velocity since you have less barrel for the powder to burn in. Also accounts for the massive fireball you get :) The problem is that to use a heavy enough spring to compensate for the shorter distance in which it has to slow the recoil, it makes unloading the rifle or reloading before completely empty a bit difficult If you would like to see a chart of how the velocity decreases by barrel length http://ballisticsbytheinch.com/index.html has a nice chart only 223 in rifle though :( -

Actually it's not that hard of a build. Several things to consider though, 1) don't use a completed rifle as your project weapon because that would make it an SBR($200.00 tax stamp & up to 6 months wait for the paperwork.) 2)you can't use a standard m1 stock as ATF still considers the furniture as a rifle even when cut down. you have to use an after market furniture kit that NEVER had a stock. Otherwise you are still building an SBR.(See #1) 3) you have to shorten the gas tube and piston. If you are only going to use low recoil ammo, you can use the original springs just cut down. This is the best bet as the recoil is . . . . . . . pretty snappy* Full pressure loads will require a new heavier spring. The fireball is truly impressive even at 14". The shortest you can go is ~11.5". Any shorter puts way too much stress on the receiver and bolt when fired. * = this coming from someone who enjoys shooting a 45-70 derringer, so your tolerance may vary. -

Yes watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3e5Fub38Ig Also check out the zombie attacking the deer. Yes that's right the zombies are so aggressive they Attack the wildlife. Oh yeah the wildlife includes bears and wolves that will attack you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClFqQm9nv0s this twitch dtream shows about an hour. Now I have to say that I think DayZ(TY D"R"H) has inspired a LOT of the features in all of the new zombie/survival games, So in that respect it is an absolute success. -

Note "calling" anyone anything. Just agreeing 100% with what ANOTHER paying customer said. If you don't have enough reading comprehension for that . . . . . . well that's you problem, not mine. P.S. just because you call a turd a rose. it's still crap. -

NO do not buy until at least late late beta. As it is, it will simply turn you off of BI completely. Right now they, IMHO, rate somewhere between NCSoft & EA -

So you thin k 9/11 was an inside job and Obama is a reptile? wow you are a nut (snark) Who has EVER said this game is supposed to be perfect at the stage it is in? . As others have stated above, just look at what a small indie company have done with fortifying & armoring cars in Survive the Night. Lol check out the 'pig bombs" they have. Brillant !
