So, I was running around Elektro, heard a helicopter. And then it crashed. I went to investigate. It was an Osprey. Pretty BS stuff. And then I get killed, and find this awaiting me at my spawn: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576709036941454280/14D63D4E523A3E959DD4F5E04B40C5704BFD9EC8/

Some Vienna server I'm never going to set foot in again. Repeated hacks everywhere.

Okay, seriously. I've seen several 'loot maps' now, and they try to tell me that churches that you can't enter have loot, and that these military buildings http://static.dayzdb.com/icons/buildings/land_mil_house.jpg drop loot. The f-? I've looked around one of those buildings and the churches EVERYWHERE and couldn't find a single scrap of loot.

I prefer the revolver, personally. Go into the firing ranges for the factions, and test the weapons out. the M1911 is pretty inaccurate at decent range. The Revolver is much better. Within the ten metres where you have to shoot zombies, accuracy don't mean shit. but if I have to pop a zombie/player at long range, the revolver is where it's at.

I say: remove military loot spawns altogether. They've ruined the game. What's the first thing you do when you spawn? You run to the airfield. Either Balota airfield, or NWAF. Why? Military weapons. NWAF is a HAVEN of server-hopping exploiters just praying and hoping for a pair of NVG's. And snipers preying on people out in that giant open area. Make the barracks empty. Get rid of it all. And instead, put down random-chance shit, like the helicopters. You want NVG's? You want a decent weapon? Make them SEARCH for them, as opposed to 'lol, lets server hop here.' Ural trucks broken down on the highways, surrounded by scattered loot and dead bodies. Stockpiled medical supplies/food/water in the trunks of cars that never made it to the next town. hidden military cache's hidden under camo netting. Helicopters crash sites prove that random chance events like that can work, and then the game is what it's supposed to be. At present, it's down to this: Run to NWAF. Find an empty server. Loot barracks. Move on. Having high concentrations of military loot in ANY static locations is just stupid. Maybe even make mobile military bases that have a chance to spawn out in the wilderness somewhere. It can be done. I've seen the Arma engine spawn in random small military objectives in one of the game modes. As it stands now..everyone knows the best loot spots, and just goes straight for them, turning the game into a predictable mishmash of 'let's loot spot A and spot B because the best shit is ALWAYS there!' Helicopter crash sites don't even have that much of good stuff at them. Sure, there's the chance for NVG's...but why bother when I can stalk the NWAF and take a pair from a bandit? People are ALWAYS at NWAF because every single person whose ever played for more than a few days knows that the NWAF has the best static loot. And static loot just isn't cutting it. It's always the same. You know if it's been looted already. You know where it is. You know all the angles. Random military bases in the wilderness would be so much more exciting and scary.

I play DayZ on my laptop. My touch pad is fun. I accidentally touch the touchpad with the flesh of my left hand every now and again. Was running through a building, accidentally fired my M1911. Almost shit my pants.

Apparently, in a recent interview, dogs are coming. ...I'm hoping they're friendly. Zombies run spastic as hell, shooting something that's waist-high and zigzagging towards you will make sooo many people rage quit. I want a dog though. I shall name him Zombie Bait.

Yeah, me and another guy struck lucky one day. Moving through that western town on the coast, and some bandit is sitting there camping. I didn't notice him, he's waiting with an M4SD and a pair of NVG, with an AS50 in his backpack. My friend kills him with a makarov (lol). He congratulated us on getting his loot. Know why? Because it's really not that fucking hard to find the same shit. It all spawns in the same places again and again, and with a little server hopping, you're straight back into some of the best gear in the game.
-
OK, now I see you never played Arma. Actually, I have. Being shot at 200 metres+ by an enemy I can't see with an AK74 really rustles my jimmies.

Putting this here because I don't want to suggest it. I just want opinions. Okay, so, I've noticed something. Zombies run faster than you do. This isn't a problem right NOW, because they stop to try and hit you, and therefore miss. So you have a MILD chance of evading one or two by running away/through buildings, etc etc. But WHEN the zombie 'stop hit' gets patched out, which I'm almost positive it will be, zombies will be impossible to evade. Why? Because they make you bleed by breathing on you, that's why. You can't evade a zombie while you're bleeding. You can't just be like 'woah, stop, lemme get a bandage on this!' This will make the beginning portion of the game EXCEPTIONALLY difficult. As in 'Why the fuck even bother' difficult. And from what I've heard, zombies walking inside buildings is ALSO a bug. So if the zombie stop-hit bug is ironed out, then every single person in DayZ who likes to get within any kind of agro distance of a sprinting zombie is dead. Unless they have a silenced weapon, and lol, those are so common. And before everyone screams 'It's supposed to be hard!' having it so that zombies that can consistently outrun you over any distance is BS. It's already impossible to shoot the sprinting zombies, due to the fact that they run so fucking erratically they might as well be an autistic kid hopped up on speed and cocaine and forgot to put his glasses on. You have to turn around and STOP MOVING to fire on them. And if you run away from a sprinter to try and get to a safe shooting distance, all his FRIENDS come join him. And if zombies start running indoors, you can forget evading them in town. Ever. Literally, the only saving grace survivors have at the moment from a sprinting zombie is the fact that they stop to attack, and walk indoors. If those things are patched out, DayZ is going to become nigh unplayable.

Would blowing off a tent remove all the items inside?

consider if you will, changing the title of this thread. It's a tad misleading. -
Looking 1-3 players to play with me on my private server

I'm sure nothing could possibly go wrong with this. -
Sure doesn't seem like anyone in this thread dc's.

Okay, so...lets get this straight. Shock status comes from damage and being shot at, right? And glitches, yeah? I found my first unlooted helicopter just earlier. A little northwest of Berezino. Literally ran into the sucker. Got myself a FAL with 4 spare mags. I'm happy with that. Now, being the opportunistic little bastard I am, I decided to take cover in some bushes nearby and see if anyone would come along. So I gets on my stomach to crawl through the bushes, when I realise that I can't. Their bases are too close together. Now, while I'm on the ground like that, there's no sound. No damage. No bleeding. I'm just suddenly in shock. Instantly. There was no warning, nothing. I didn't go unconscious. I stood up, and zig-zagged my way a good three clicks to the treelines, waiting five minutes for pursuit...and nothing. No gunfire, no pursuit. Can you get random shock status for just...crawling against a tree? As I said, there was not a single bit of damage associated. Not ONE point of blood lost.
-
I'm not sure if it was a bug or not. I MIGHT have been shot at...but I heard nothing. I was merely asking if it's a known thing to go into shock when you crawl at bushes.

I read your first sentence and lost all respect. "Trying to kill some scrubs" Go play Cod.

The DMR, because scope. Scope causes objects to render on your screen further away. Better for scouting, see? And more accurate, because you can put a finer point on that aim.
-
I'm the kind of person to do this as well. But...I've heard too many stories about people giving people weapons, and then that person shooting them in the face with the gun they JUST were given. I'm the kind of person who'd be more likely to leave something in a 'dead drop' and then direct a new player towards it, rather than risk my goddamn neck helping someone who could be an utter asshole.

It was a new life, and I needed an assault rifle to complement my remington flashlighted shotfun. I already had blood bags and morphine though, so it wasn't so much a windfall as a 'where the f- did my assault rifle go? D: '
