Here! HERE! :D Got my trusty m4a1 rifle with me, and a glock17 that I picked up at the NW Airfield. I've played this game for about 3-4 weeks, and I'm so much ready to roam the lands with a medium-to-large (5-15) group. I've got a mic, and I'm from Denmark (GMT +1.00) Add my steam, TheTamsen =)

Lol, something similiar happened to me and a buddy last weekend. He plays female character, I play male - we were in the firestation in the NW airfield. We were shooting zombies chasing in on us, having the advantage of being inside of a building (Dunno if they are supposed to be this slow inside the buildings, I like it anyways) - when a player rushes into the fire station with a fucking makarov, and shoots us both in the knees (Epic troll move by the way) - My female character buddy somehow managed to shoot him in close range with the DMR. I had the M4A1 CCOG SD rifle. We both managed to survive the (stupid) surprise attack, with broken legs, bleeding wounds and a heckload of zombies around us. The dude didn't even have beanz...

This reminds of a story - I was sprinting from zombies near Balota basecamp. I was rushing in, when I saw this player with MP5SD6 who was looking at me - I was unarmed. We both agreed friendly over mic, and I rushed over to his side so that he wouldn't shoot me on accident when taking out the zombies chasing me. In the confusion of gunfire, I looted a M1911 from his backpack, shot him in the face and killed the zombies closing in on me. While looting him, I got killed by who were apparently his partner in one of the towers... Damn! :(

This lol. Sounds funny though, I've never had my own car. Just 2 bikes and an ATV which is currently out of fuel in the middle of friggin' nowhere. (Yay -.-) Just a question - did you get near its top speed? Guess I reached about 90 speed with the ATV. How much have you (or any other car drivers in this thread) reach with your vehicles?

Here's my advices; 1: Barns. Look out for Lee Enfield or CZ550. The Lee Enfield is not actually a sniper, but can easily shoot an enemy on distance. 2: Military Establishments (Balota, Cherno, Stary or w/e) + Deer Stands. You'll perhaps find a nice CZ550, AKS-74 Cobra (AKS-74 with lasersight) or a DMR if lucky. Also try the NE or Balota airstrip. 3: Helicopter Crash Sites (Randomly found in open fields - I think it's easiest to find them north to the "equator" of the Chernarus map, especially near NW Airfield) - A heckload of zombies around them, but a heckload of loot. Medical supplies like painkillers and morphine makes you smile if you haven't raided a hospital yet. Usually has 1 or 2 FN Fal rifles, which oneshots zombies. Good chance to find a sniper like the DMR or the M24 - What people are really looking for at heli crash sites are the SVD sniper, so they usually let the DMR and M24 be if they see it. 4: North West Air Field (Between 50 and 200 zombies in total around this huge airfield, on crowded servers usually 5+ players, sometimes occupied by bandit organized GANGS/CLANS of 5-10 players with vehicles, NVG's and stuff, so WATCH OUT!) - Check the Barracks on the both sides of the airstrip. Heckloads of weapons (usually just AKM's and M4A1's, but the lucky people find M4A3 CCOG SD, NVG's, Mk48's and serious snipers like the M114, which kills a player in one shot no matter where hit.) #4 is the most dangerous area in Chernarus. I'd rather run around the center of Elektro or Cherno with a friggin hatchet, than loot this place alone - takes a heckload of time just to get up there from the coast, and its not fun to die as soon as you arrived, because some snipers has been camping there for 3 hours. Watch out, and don't get killed! :)

Me and a friend found a chopper at NW Airfield. Loot: 2x FN Fal with like 10 mags M4A1 CCOG SD with like 3 mags M24 AIM with 1 mag Medical supplies (minus blood bag, dunno if they spawn at choppers anyways) Grabbed the M4A1 ofc, and found loads of ammo inside the barracks at the airfield. M8 had a DMR so he didn't pick up the M24. Before using the M4A1, I tried testing out the FN Fal on zombies nearby. I know this was extremely stupid, but hey, free ammo to increase zombie kill count, and it was morning time, so only like 4 players except us on the server. I liked it, but for survival reasons, I favor the M4A1 CCOG SD. I hope we'll find a new one when heading to Stary...

Rocket has stated earlier, that zombie strength is all random. You can get hit ONCE by the most RANDOM zombie, and you will both break a leg, go unconscious, lose 5000 blood and bleed... (Or could this be classed as a 'critical hit' later on?) Sometimes it's just game over, no matter how well equipped and prepared you are.

Found morphine yesterday in an industrial building (Medium loot class) I know you can find LOADS (20+) at hospitals too, if they haven't been raided already. To get inside a hospital, shoot the glass and jump through. For some reason, zombies won't be able to get into a hospital, but just stand infront of it and wait for you to go out.

Found a tent, looted an mp5 and lots of ammo. walked 10 yards, got sniped. TL;DR - looted tent, got killed

I love how people shed tears over some difficulty. You spawn with a flashlight. You can find road flares and chemlights, and even a military flashlight, which according to other forum posts, has a much brighter light (I've used it, I think they are somewhat the same. The only difference I've noted is the colour of the light - red.) And for the extremely lucky ones, there are the NVG (Nightvision) Goggles. Go to a different server with lighttime, grow some balls and use your flashlight or uninstall Arma II, really.

ALICE Backpack of course. (Has 4 more slots) The 3 largest backpacks in DayZ in order from smallest to largest, are: Czech Backpack ALICE Backpack Coyote Backpack (Don't mistake this with the Coyote PATROL Backpack, which is the starter. Also, this backpack is extremely rare, and only found in military looting places like camps, deer stands and airstrips)

I think you'd learn more about DayZ on the website instead of reading stupid rumors on the web. Btw, gimme link for dat article, I could use a laff :P

I like to see casual gamers cry in a SIMULATOR, which is not something you will complete 'just like that'. Either way, it's a FREE mod in ALPHA, we are their FREE alpha testers, and complains will be completely ignored. You should probably have posted this in a feedback section, with less QQ to make people take your thread interesting. This game is far away going to die off, we are just switching the kids out with more mature people, who actually likes a challenge. Ever heard of chemlights/flares? Please don't tell me you will create another topic like this, if you get killed by another player, or if a zombie breaks your leg in the first hit. Everyone has tried it, get over it, this mod is supposed to be hard even on the lowest difficulty :)

I suggest you should play and analyze the game a little longer, before making such drastical decitions. And also, you don't seem very active on these forums - how much have you actually read? I know I don't have a ton of posts or an account that can be dated months back in here - but atleast I'm not blapping out about what I don't like about the game (Mod! for the nazis.), since there's alot that I haven't tried(enough) to spam the forums with my own cryletter just to be turned down.

Thx for heads up... I'm glad you chose to do it in the european night/verrry early morning time (before 10, lol), instead of favoring 'TEH AMERICANNS!!!11!' like everyone else. =D

What ZogVarnoka said is true. You can find maps in random houses, on rooftops and in stores etc. They are quite rare though, I think I've found 3 or 4 maps in my 1 week playtime in DayZ.

I've played this game for a couple days, and would say that I've somewhat gotten the hang of it. Now, I'm in search of a serious, english speaking group/squad/team or w/e, that can talk over teamspeak. Anybody interested?

I think my longest session (of constant playing), is about 8 hours, raiding every city on the coast-line. When I made it to the airstrip, ofc there was a sniper with nightvision who felt like shooting me :< Not too smart to play at night either, if you want a long life ingame.
