New Dayz map 20x20km central europe :::work in progress
Tactical Nuke replied to Funkdoc's topic in General Discussion
I had a mess around with the A3 tools and discovered I can model some buildings, export to 3DS Max then export from there to A3 tools. Will give it a bash at the end of term because with my graded unit coming up I wont have much spare time. I don't know where that would leave textures/skins whatever but I could certainly have a bash at modelling some dilapidated houses in the mean time. -
Show us a before and after screen.

Cars definitely spawn ammo, food, clothes etc The 'burnt out' 4x4, Military truck, humvees etc do not spawn anything.

Driving to Debug Island

Cars (from my experience) wont drive under water. I had a Lada down by Elektro, took shots and decided I'd evade by submerging myself whilst doubling back on them - car cut out after a minute or two and wouldn't start up again. Car wasn't even fully submerged when it gave up. -
Well played boys!

I was always of the opinion that when dynamic events like chopper crashes, should be signalled by the event beginning, not just a chopper *spawning* in front of your eyes (which has happened innumerable times). I like that you have the heli being shot down (I would like to see some animation of a heli "spawning/flying" overhead before the crash in game), but in my opinion, I'd have thought that the helis had been brought down by some infected onboard. I know it's not much of a suggestion.. but yeah, good work.

I can see this game going a long way to weed out the people who only play DayZ for the pvp leaving behind the real survivors. Competition is healthy amongst developers and while EFT looks good, as said above, they are two completely different beasts altogether.

Just because you have a boner for this old dead dude doesn't mean he should have any sort of tribute in the game.

I don't think you can change firemode for any guns yet ingame?
-
Always knew you could paint the Magazine, did not know you could paint the 74su. Looks a lot better to me and I had always had all black attachments on my AKs, next time I go sniper loadout I'll be rocking a black 74su with it.

Think it's the MP5 that's bugged, as I was using one last night and couldn't look down the iron sights properly - no amount of re-logging fixed it - so I'm gonna assume the same bug is affecting the ACOG and all you can see is the glass above the reticle.

What software is used to model the buildings? I'm currently training as an Architectural Technician and wouldn't mind giving it a bash (as long as it didn't interfere with my coursework). -

No shit :o and there was me thinking it'd all be fixed by tomorrow. -

No, we need the items to spawn above ground - not a Vicinity window. -
are helicopter crash static or moving in 0.59?
Tactical Nuke replied to claws4life's topic in General Discussion
It's quite possible that you have encountered Helis that people have attempted to cycle the loot at. Just an idea, but since I've seen people cycle loot pretty much all over the map in this patch, and what with this 30min loot spawn timer it's very possible that you've stumbled across one that has just been stripped and people are waiting to see if anything else will spawn in. -

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Sure we need to have an inventory screen but does it need a vicinity window? I'd prefer if I ran into (example) NWAF Tents and instead of running into a tent with my Inventory window open, move to the next, rinse repeat.. that I had to go inside each tent and actually take the time to look around and in each corner. If you can see the loot, excellent. If you can't and you missed it? Pay more attention next time. -
Need help choosing a loadout/weapons.
Tactical Nuke replied to maximumak777 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Personal preference is AKM (assault or support) + Swagnum. I'd take an AK101 purely for less recoil then an AK74. I would avoid the Steyr Aug completely as the scope cannot be zeroed. M4 is end game stuff, best automatic in game. If you're already carrying an AK variant as a main then I see no point in carrying an MP5, UMP or AK74su as a backup. But yeah, with the AKM practise makes perfect. It kicks like a bitch but once you know how to handle it properly it's (in my opinion and because of 75rnd Drum) one of the best guns in game. -
camp disappeared. persistence issues?
Tactical Nuke replied to ikarosv2's topic in General Discussion
Whenever I tend to find a camp I empty everything on the ground and move any containers away. This would be easily accomplished with the help of an offroad and a bus. Think of all the storage space available in them to move every last bit of loot within your two barrells. -
What the actual fuck?

Gotta cull the vermin somehow.

Not very merciful, are you? Nice work haha -
I gave it a positive review. With over 1300hrs logged (had never heard of Arma nevermind played the mod) it's easily my favourite (yet incomplete) game. I can understand why some have given it negative reviews, but as always, I take other peoples opinions on things with a bucket of salt and much prefer to come to my own conclusions. I hope most are like me and would not simply look the game over because of some bad reviews. There is now a refund system in place in Steam precisely for this, you don't like it within 2hrs? Refund. Don't then use Steam as a platform to push your own opinion as if it were gospel.
