Meh, DayZ has ten boring, unimaginative killers for each of these shroomin' lunatics. I'll pick death-by-raving-madman over death-by-bored-teen-with-mosin any day of the week.

And there was no relog involved when the gun disappeared? There's a known issue with backpacks being sorted by the game on login, which has cost me some items of more than one slot before (a few patches back). Anyhow, it's probably not it, but it's the only issue I know of that might have caused this.

Oh yeah. Hmm can't find another picture/text of the "you lucky bastard" guy from http://youtu.be/8EI7p2p1QJI?t=32s

The little gatehouses at the castles appear to spawn loot now though. Haven't seen any loot in 'em since the mod.

Free Loot on the stable servers my buddy and I found, we left it at NWAF for you

Dear Sir/Madam I am doctor Mgumbe of the Nigerian Tent Redistribution Fond, and it is my great pleasure to tell you that your email address has been selected to receive 1 tent (ONE TENT). -
Yep, that's what I'm thinking. So if I had logged out in stead of settle down to light a fire, I guess it could've punched me in the face and knocked me out. I'm not sure, but I think logging out unconscious puts you back in as a fresh spawn, which look similar to what the OP describes. Or did I misunderstand how the logout+unconscious works? Not exactly itching to test the theory!

Not sure if it's just bad luck, but lately I've seen zombies carry a grudge like I just beat up their little sisters. I go into the woods, find a dry spot, cut some wood, build a fire and when I'm sitting there with the matches, a zombie charges me from the direction I came from. Maybe if a zombie does the same and knocks your character unconscious during the logout timer?

I find rope all the time. Except when I need it, of course.

Is carrying two primaries weapons not really possible now?
LeeVanSpliff replied to Zed's Dead's topic in General Discussion
I had some strange behavior with a rifle today - it was not readying that was not available, but I could not go to aim mode (looking down the ironsight). Re-log didn't work. Dropped it, unloaded it, picked it up, loaded it again and it worked fine. -
In a game like DayZ, there are always unfairness, even if people have similar gear. Better position, seeing people first, more friends around, zombies biting someone's posterior in the heat of combat - all these things make encounters between players hugely unfair. Besides, I don't agree with equating fun with fairness. I've had a hell of a lot of (very stressful) fun running away from people with superior gear in this game. I don't agree here either. The nervous feeling of entering a police station when you've only got a baseball bat, the way you loot upper floor quickly to avoid getting cornered. Also adds a feeling of realism: Of course you find more firearms and uniforms in a building used by people wearing uniforms and holding guns.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
LeeVanSpliff replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
You can't really expect to hit it anything melee. Not the zombies fault, the attacks are broken atm. It's in the patch notes. People die from zombies in zombie movies, zombie games, zombie literature and probably zombie musicals, if there is any such thing. That you die from them suggests that they work imo. I like that zombies are dangerous, I just wish it was not due to melee being broken. Haven't seen a zombie glitch through a wall since patch, but I did notice one I think was trapped inside the inaccessible part of a house model. Edit: to escape, keep sprinting, run through trees for it to lose LoS, then keep sprinting and run through more trees. At least that used to work. -
Yeah found mine in a police station too. No mag though. If I got it right, the CZ is the 'real' version with a copyrighted name while CR is the DayZ implementation of an eerily similar rifle.

Gee I'm glad most of this is discussed in feet, because stops me from thinking further about the "x feet drop lethal" statements. uselessunits.stopit. Anyhow - I voted no. Not because I think the falling damage works well, but because I think that many of us have learned to use various workarounds to avoid it. There are other things that are harder to just ignore imo. Melee hit direction, vehicles, diseases, cold effects and such will do much more for my game experience than fixing falling damage. I'll just keep not stepping off the stairs outside the apartment buildings.

I THINK there is a pain condition out there. Friend of mine got hit by a zombie kept moaning and his screen said his arm was in pain. He insisted that there was no "fracture" condition in the character window. I looted around and found him some pain killers, but he managed to get himself killed before I could get them to him and see if it worked. So I'm not really certain that the pain killers would have done anything.

New cities up north seem very active too. I heard the Novo tourism department went with "See the tower and die" for a slogan.

Looted mine here: Never found a clip for it though.

Yay or Nay on Victim/Killer info on screen/Players list?
LeeVanSpliff replied to Vex_Vehix's topic in General Discussion
I see three suggestions here. Most people say no to all three based on something that only holds true for one of them. Suggestion 1: Victim player gets message. Suggestion 2: Killer player gets message. Suggestion 3: Everyone on server gets message. I agree completely with all the people who argue that "the guy you are shooting at is dead" is detrimental to the game play. That means that I agree to the "no" on suggestion 2 and 3. I like suggestion 1 though - it would give me the name of the player I got killed by, so I would get to hold a grudge. When tents are gonna keep us more on the same servers, having grudges will be a central part of the fun. Yes, I know players can change name - many people don't though. Personally I'd be less inclined to change name if I knew a bunch of people knew and hated me. When I play pen and paper RPGs, I have no problem having a different set of information for me as a player and for the character I play. Say, world lore, conversations the other players had and so on. I'd never, ever do the same in a computer game. Like, try all types of ammo for the SKS, because I know which one it uses, but my character doesn't. -
Is the update as bad as everyone says?
LeeVanSpliff replied to d.walker43's topic in General Discussion
I'm experiencing more slowdowns and had the left mouse button-bug once in a few hours. Melee seems to be missing a lot where I'd expect hits. On the other hand, my character now jumps every time I press 'v'. Zombies seem to move better and there should be loot re-spawning now. You get less of a "oh that's looted, might as well just leave" feeling. Seen fewer server crashes, but that might just have been luck. -
In Communist Chernarus, gun clips you! Anyhow, gotta agree with OP. The locals seem to have two guns for every clip - not a big issue, no doubt future loot algorithm adjustments will take care of this.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
LeeVanSpliff replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
300+ hours in SA and haven't seen any either. Granted, I steer clear of Elektro, supposed to be bad down there. -
Regarding Northwestern Chernarus
LeeVanSpliff replied to tullyburnalot's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm. I'd still prefer golf to soccer. Mainly because I'd love to see a calm upper-classey golf game attacked only for the golfers to pull out their own automatic weapons and return fire. And if a few zombies made it onto the course - I guess hitting them could somehow be worked into the point system: -

Regarding Northwestern Chernarus
LeeVanSpliff replied to tullyburnalot's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, good info. Dobroe size or smaller is great imo - the map can handle a few more towns like that and still make you feel alone and lost from time to time. I'm all for a golf course, if they implement playing golf in the game of course. Good break, playing a few rounds of golf in between the survival and zombie slaying.
