    Loot should be personal

It'd ruin immersion for me. If I see a shotgun on the floor, I'd like there to be a shotgun on the floor. As with regular shotguns on regular floors, everyone with hands can pick them up. Guess personal loot would also add a lot of stress for the server db. Generating a lot of loot every time a player joins, 40 times as much loot to handle and so on.

Why Dayz is the most tense game there is

Nothin quite like a good war story ...

Signs to tell if someone is hostile

Nudists and cos-play enthusiasts beware ....
  4. Yeah, different hive for hardcore. Very handy indeed with a second character. Also for testing theories involving climbing on top of tall structures or running naked through Berezino or whatnot.

    Cooking with gas stovel?

Ah, that'd explain our cooking fail! What's with blaming drugs btw? http://youtu.be/NFHU1X1PED4?t=3m19s
  6. I play hardcore. I see it more as an extra character - for when my softcore character is parked next to a bunch of friends who're not online and I feel like running around and looting some stuff. Don't understand that people find hardcore unrealistic. I mean, compared to softcore where third person lets you look over fences and around corners at people who can't see you. Switching to first person felt very claustrophobic at first, but that's a hurdle you'll get over quickly. Do remember to turn the head bob down all the way though ....

    My first death.

Frankly I think having all the equipment you want is a bit of a downer. If I'm not looking for some matches or another clip or whatever I get this "now what?" feeling. Anyhow, gonna be different when there are vehicles and such to focus on, but for now I need someone to shoot me in the face every once in a while to keep me entertained.

How safe are the new cities?

Not at all imo! Every time I finally think I'm alone in Novo, gunfire erupts from somewhere.

    improvised leather backpack?

Yeah I haven't been able to make it work with deer pelts either. Been running all over Chernarus looking for a wild piggie to see if that works, but the damn swine appear to be quite elusive.

    lose the flashlight

Hehe yeah that's how it usually goes. Anyhow, I've played standalone and the mod for hundreds of hours and I still sometimes need to check my compass. And yes I agree, some supplies (food in particular imo) seems way too plentiful at the moment. I guess they won't spend time tweaking it till the loot spawning is implemented. Which hopefully will cut down on these server restarts and let the cycle continue into night more often (and make the flashlight as useful as it should be). Only on two or three occasions have I seen night time without actively joining a night time server.

    lose the flashlight

A n00b also needs food, backpack, weapons, water and medical supplies. I think the flashlight is really useful. The game might even have gone a little soft on the players by giving them one at start, but the reason for that is that looting without one at night is close to impossible. Night time is a valid part of the game, even if lots of servers are running daylight 24/7. Very paranoia-inducing, giving away your position like that but I find it very fun. Anyhow, I wouldn't worry too much - I usually run into more compasses than I can use. They can be hard to spot though - small brownish item, often on a table or bookshelf. Easy to miss.
