Sigh. Did a quick google of game development pre alpha. Three of the first four links showing up confirmed what I said. Well knowing it doesn't have to mean fuck, I do work with game development, and I do have an education in game development. Plenty of people are smarter, more experienced and more knowledgeable than me on game development. Very few of them seem to be posting on this forum though. I know when a cheeseburger tastes good - that doesn't enable me to run a restaurant. I know when I pass a bridge and it doesn't collapse, that doesn't make me a construction engineer. I know when a car is driving, that doesn't make me Henry Ford. Most people feel the same way about these things. However, it doesn't apply to games - if you know what kind of game you like, you're a natural expert on game development. It creates a fearsome density of wrong information or statements based in lack of insight. Anyhow, I'm back out of here. This forum is a shitnami of experts on game development and there's no way the tide can be stemmed. Always gets me frustrated. Just wanted to see if the wipe had happened and I made the mistake of clicking on a post. My bad.

Wiki link's in my post.

Why the hell would switching the terminology to something WITHOUT clear definitions do anyone any good? Also, DayZ didn't pioneer early access? Wiki mentions minecraft as an early example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_access Nope, wrong. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Pre-alpha You guys should really read up on stuff before posting your opinions. Opinions not founded in fact are worthless imho. I mean, these are wiki links. Finding each represents 4 seconds with google and internets.

Just a piece of advice: never log out on first floor. I personally don't log out in buildings entirely, but 1st floor and up is particularly dangerous since the game currently sees it as an invitation to break the hell out of your legs. A friend got killed by unloading a clip on the first floor. That'll teach him or whatever.

Yeah, seems the policy is disabling the action of putting something on a gun, not the state of something being on a gun. Friend ran around with a clown mask and a pilot helmet for a long while after they disallowed it. Looked awesome. Total psycho clown, and probably the only one in the game by then.

Really? I'm pretty sure I've seen melee killed zombie respawn but it could've been a few patches ago.

Trick to recover reset character?

Sorry dude, that's not how it works. You should stop saying it everywhere, since it's simply not true. -
HandDick and SmokeWeed. Does indeed sound like good people!

Aaaawesome! They can kill AND violate all my characters if it clears the db of duped items. Lulz, so you're allowed to dupe and ... aww I'm not even gonna bother, your posts speaks for itself. In a retarded voice. -
Sorry to be an ass about this, but aren't you asking for the developers to tell you exactly what happens so that you can help them figure out exactly what happens? Sort of a logical short circuit in there.

Yeah I think the guy's point is that the random sounds have been there for a long time. Personally I can't remember having played SA without them. The whole sound system sucks tbh. Missing some sounds (which is serious when it's gunshots) while having too many other. I guess the reasonable plan is to not try to fix something they'll replace the whole thing in one fell sweep.
-
Ehh can't remember, one of the last ones. Went from a situation where it would work maybe one in five times to now, where it fails (for me at least) rarely (which I assume is server-being-busy or similar). I don't even fear low fences any longer. Tested it with three other clowns, and ended up jump-frolicking across an open field.

zombies no clip - sorry if already done
LeeVanSpliff replied to boonaroony's topic in General Discussion
Navmesh working doesn't mean the zombies can open doors. It means that they'll go through the doorway. Sometimes when the door is closed too. I guess that you won't always SEE them going through the doorway, if a few updates get lost between the server and the client. I'd say that 10% of the time I see a zombie go through a doorway it'll have one shoulder inside the door frame. Anyhow, the zombie behavior is definitely changed for the better. They follow you up stairs, run around or through houses to get to you and so on - that's the nav mesh stuff in play. That doesn't mean that zombies are working well yet. They still have plenty of things about them that are just placeholders. Frankly I find the zombie-sliding-backwards-while-attacking-hitting-someone-behind-it way more annoying than the wall glitching ever was. If them glitching through walls a few months back was so annoying for OP, I think he should probably wait till the zombie radar sight has been replaced with a proper stupid-zombie behavior. -
Dunno, but after they fixed the jump/vault button not reacting properly, I have high hopes that it'll be fixed too. Seems very similar. Not sure if it's placebo, but when I have a problem with switching from gun to axe, I THINK it works better if you first remove the gun, then take out the axe.
