I still see magnums around. I would only run one if I didn't have an FNX. 15 rounds compared to 6 and hardly any recoil. Ammo for both is plentiful enough. I have never run across a Longhorn.

Sadly the divide is about 90/10 as far as douchebag to friendly ratio. Don't give up, we are out there. What's even sadder is a friendly player turned bandit out of disillusionment and rage. Don't fall to the dark side. Perfect example, I tried my first go at Exerimental the other day. Low hours players should be less douchey one would think, right? I run through three towns, not a morsel of food. I only found a machete and pair of 6 slot pants. My screen was starting to discolor from hunger and the wrong end of a zombie fistfight and I ran across three other players with nothing just like me. They were older, not 13 year olds, we talked for a few minutes laughing and stuff, thought everything was cool. I told them I was B&W and had nothing. Then one sidled beside me when we were talking and punched me and knocked me out. One giggled, one apologized, I awoke with no pants and no machete. The one who apologized left me a water bottle to my surprise but still.... REALLY?! Was that necessary?

Yeah, 90% of freshies are not fresh to the game. They are just fresh to that life because they got shot looting the airfield. How social I am depends on how geared I am. If I have all camo, HCV vest, helmet, AKM, drum mag showing, etc... I pretty much stay to the periphery, run building to building and cover to cover and lone wolf it. If I'm rocking the kiddie backpack, a lousy Blaze and wool coat, I will run down the middle of the streets and happy dance anyone I see.

I have lost more than one pistol in a firefight (gets ruined shooting each other). I usually try to split up my most important supplies too. I will always try to place one bandage, morphine and loaded ammo clip in a case in my pack and also in a my pants. I usually only keep food and one stack of ammo in the vest/jacket because they are always the first to get ruined by zeds.

Really, I thought for sure the damaged components were why it swayed so much ADS. My pristine AKM is steady as a rock ADS. Perhaps I am mistaking new lousy hit code on zeds for poor accuracy. I ended up with a ruined vest from zombies jumping through shots. I didn't shoot any people with it. It felt smooth, I just instantly performed better when I had the AKM up. I was one shotting again and not having to zero in for hits. That's why everyone doesn't have the same weapon, we all do better with different equipment. I still love the M4 the best but ammo makes it a tough one stick with right now, just like the AK101.

I am not a new player but I have a newb question I haven't gotten a clear answer on and couldn't find. I have never played on hardcore or experimental servers, I heard someone say you get a new character when you play on these servers. My question is what happens to your stable character when you play on either of these servers? Is that character saved? Could I essentially have three characters or does it wipe me every time I start a new character? Can I try the experimental and then hop back over to my normal set up after I try it? Sorry again if this was answered elsewhere.

This is the first I am hearing of needing a patch? How does one acquire this patch? *edit* found it.... thanks!

So just tried to log into the EXP servers and keep getting "Bad version, server rejected connection," I posted about in the Exp thread. Also, I tried a hardcore server and it loaded my regular character, all the gear. I don't get it... *shame*

Read what I wrote. I did find and AK101 and I said it had a damaged handrail and stock made the aim poor. Yes the AKM has more recoil, but you can totally shoot it semi-auto and control the recoil with a good mouse. Seriously, read what I wrote before posting a snarky reply. I know because I experienced it and it's my opinion. I didn't update wiki with my info, settle down. It's your opinion that it's 2 overall. Maybe YOU can't hit a target at 600 meters without using 20 rounds. Look at what Irish posted. Also, what good is any gun if ammo is scarce? Look at the total picture I'm painting and not the first few words you understand in a row.

The hype is just that. The AKM is twice the rifle. It hits harder and is way more accurate. I had a few clips for one and was psyched to find one to use as a second primary. The plastic handrail and stock were damaged so aim was awful. It was like a big shaky figure eight looking down sight. It almost always takes 2-3 bullets to take out a zombie and ammo is a MAJOR pain in the ass to find. When my last clip was empty, I dumped it and the three clips at the top of the ATC tower in NWA. I used all three clips on about a dozen zeds from the hangars to the tower. Enjoy, to whoever found it. Piece of crap if you ask me. Only use it if it's all you have.

That's fun for a fully geared player. If you were a newer spawn with no ammo it wouldn't be so fun. I would have no issues with large hordes of zeds if they followed the actual laws of physics.

I foresee about 20 tents up there in no time. :)

Well that's Dayz luck for you, four 75 round mags and no AKM. LOL! Kinda like when I found an MP5 at the police station as a fresh spawn in Krasno. I thought I was lucky until it was gone at my next log in because of inventory reshuffle. To date I have only found one MP5 and two drums. When I found my first drum I wanted to go hide deep in the woods and rub it and call it my precious.

If he killed four players with 75rd mags, hats off. You deserve it. I have been playing for hours and hours and hours since the patch and found two. I have only found 30rders on the corpses I have come across. If he found four... Go play the lottery, your luck is amazing. :)
