Thanks for the help and guidance all.

The initial question was due to my not knowing that Mod users do not share servers with SA servers. I know this now. New question is, how is it that some users have gear that is not normally available in SA, or at least that I am aware of? Is there a source/listing where I can see what loot should be available on the version I am playing? It is also understood that some gear is hard to find. I tend to stick with common gear because the ammo and accessories also tend to be more common and this makes the game more enjoyable. I have run into individuals who have specialist weapons which I was not aware of or had not found yet, but they also had body armor? I am not a troll, just someone who wants to enjoy the game more, and my google searches have yielded a metric butt-load of results that would take way to long to sift through just to separate the Mod from the SA applicable stuff.

I understand that some items are hard to find, but these guys appear with so much gear and weapons that I cannot see how they can get them without server hoping or hacks.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate your help and guidance. Ok, so if I am reading you all's posts correctly. You cannot use a Mod client to play SA? Correct? I have run into folks on servers who have body armor, specialist weapons, whole teams with fully matching gear..... that I have never seen or found in my 500+ hours of playing on both high and low population servers.

Is it possible or are there any Stand Alone only servers, where mod players cannot participate? I find many players with stuff that is obviously not available in the SA version which makes the game less then enjoyable. Anyone think SA only servers should be available to provide a level playing field?
