Vests do not spawn, only backpacks. The next push to experimental should spawn vests.

To the guy at NWAF with the Sporter 22 on Eastern EXP yesterday

Listen man, I didn't want to kill you. My friend and I are always friendly until we feel like someone else isn't. We had been traveling for hours looking for a gun for me so we could hunt easier. Yes, I know he was running with his Longhorn in hand and that may have scared you a little. You didn't have to just open fire as soon as you saw us and I still don't know why you wouldn't talk to us. You shot him twice in the legs and I knew it was on and I'm sure when you saw him run away you thought you had won. That is until you felt my axe in your back and then started running away in an attempt to reload your Sporter 22. I let you run, I was going to let you live, I crouched back into the small grouping of trees and bushes in hopes that you would just leave. But no, you thought you were a hardass and decided to come looking for me in my ever so clever hiding place. As you approached me, you somehow missed my red mountain backpack and walked right past me so I just went to town with my axe. You managed to hit me twice in the body but alas, I put you face down before you could hit me a third time. I'll tell you this, you almost won, I lost quite a bit of blood but you lost everything so it was worth it. Thanks for the Sporter 22 man, I really needed a gun for hunting. -
And yet again...I log out in disappointment.

You can be mad as hell all you want, you're not playing the game the way it is intended. I remember when I first got geared up in all military gear, had a loaded mosin, TTsKO gear, Hunter backpack and a high capactiy vest then died because the floor of a smoke stack just disappeared on me. I was angry but then I realized this game isn't about being a loot goblin and trying to get all the best gear on a low pop server just to log into a high pop server and kill bambi's. It's about building yourself up from nothing, trying to survive and hoping that the players you run into aren't going to kill you for nothing. -
I've gotten to the point now where I try to wear non-threatening gear because I'd rather build a campfire to cook what we fish/hunt with fellow players or hunt bambi killers and bandits.

What type of Project Management is the DayZ dev team using?
evidica posted a topic in General Discussion
I'm a developer by trade and I'm curious what type of PM methodology the DayZ developers are using. If it's Waterfall, the inconsistency makes sense to me in regards to too many 'might' and 'maybe' used in verbiage regarding future release functionality. However, if they're using Agile, wouldn't the team know what their velocity is by now? Also, if they're using Agile, can they just start posting at least audio of their daily stand ups since testers are always a part of that and we're paying to be testers at this point? -

I don't want commit dates at all, in fact, that's the point of Agile, no real commit date until you are in your last few sprints. I'm just curious how long they're expecting initiatives to take. With Agile, when you plan a story (piece of work) you estimate how much effort it is using the Fibonacci Sequence. When you complete the story, you can see how long it took to get done compared to the estimated effort. Over time you can start seeing that things that are estimated at X effort usually take Y hours/days to complete, this is called velocity. I'd like to see what their velocity is and how much work they have in the backlog, that would give us all a pretty good idea of how long we'll be waiting. -

That video is hilarious, Waterfall is the worst PM methodology, just so unrealistic. Since they're using Agile, we should be able to get some specific answers from them regarding numbers that can give us a better idea how long it's going to take to knock out each individual initiative. -
I was playing last night with a couple of friends and went to shoot a zombie with a Magnum that was Pristine as well as having Pristine ammo and here are the results: http://www.twitch.tv/evidicacheezle/c/4742049

Do DayZ updates only come out on a Wednesday?

You don't have to state the obvious either but you did anyway. -
My problem with fishing right now is how the fishing rod takes up so much space. IRL I'd be able to strap it to my backpack along with an axe and rifle.
