The point is that there will never be a true remedy for this in any way without penalising people who happen to play in off peak times like shift workers and suchlike. Private hives and Public Hive servers are two totally different matters and need to be treated as such. A private hive will ofc solve this problem, but there will still be the central core of private official hive servers. If you reduce loot spawn based on player activity, people who legitimately can only find a low pop server because they play in off peak times/all other servers are full (its surprising how often this happens if you are not prepared to play with a ping over a certain point which is reasonable.) then the people who are trying to play legitimately will lose out. simple as that. Some things can't be stopped, just like bunnyhopping in some FPS games, its terrible but it happens. same with people using 3PP to look over walls.

I've noticed that there is a limitation on how high/low you can aim your weapon when you are on any sort of staircase. I was with a friend in a Millitary Jail/Cammo Building and when I rushed upstairs to cut off the guy inside who shot at us. I had my pistol out and as I was moving upstairs, I saw him come around toward the Exit, so I opened fire and tried to lower my weapon to get a headshot, but my aim would not go below a certain point. That happened to be JUST above his head. so I couldn't even land a hit. I've not had this problem on level ground however. I have noticed that your char leans forward/backward when he aims. and I think that you can only aim up/down so far as to avoid your avatar's spine being unrealistically bent to a right angle XD

I would not be against the two slots on your back being used for two primary weapons. Since it is hardly instantaneous to switch between the two. And carrying two primary weapons means two sets of ammo, especially cumbersome in the case of automatic weapons with magazines. Personally I'd like removable/folding stocks allowing for a weapon to be stowed in your backpack with similar dimensions to the MP5 at current or slightly bigger, though I'd also like to see the MP5/SMG made slightly smaller, especially with the stock removed. Either way, you can only carry so much. You will need a melee weapon, so carrying a second primary means you lose 4-5 slots atleast in your backpack. Not to mention that if you are keeping one primary weapon in your hand, you will drop it whenever you eat, climb or perform some other action. Going to snipe on a roof with your mosin? be prepared to leave your lovely AK on the ground to be pinched. (I did this, it was great. Exactly how I found my first MP5.)

1 - Neither spawn anything in the current stable build AFAIK 2 - The Long Barracks Buildings in NWAF, Vybor etc. Only place I have found a combat knife, along with high capacity vests and AKM drum magazines.

Totally with you, I enjoy being able to hit R once I have an assault rifle with a few mags, but I would certainly not miss it. I can remember being shot at with a mosin, dodged 5 shots and took that chance to rush the shooter, Axed him. Just today, me and a mate cornered a guy in the B-town pub after he shot at us. After he'd fired 2 shots form his blaze, I rushed with the axe and my mate gunned him down as he tried to run from me. I'm paranoid about being caught reloading, to the point that I'll swap out a mag with only 2 less rounds in it during a lull in a tense fight. Just so that I know I'm ready with a full mag.

The ruined Jeeps that you can find EVERYWHERE, Look inside them. You will find all sorts of magazines for weapons. I usually find enough that I can circle the map, shooting Zeds and defending myself when I come under attack by bandits without having to actually go into a military loot location after I have acquired my AKM or AK101 as it is now. Considering that you can reload your mags.

Jeeps people, Jeeps

People, Check wrecked Jeeps, seriously. Best place for magazines. But yes, the new carbine and sporter need their magazines added to the spawns for their area.

Things I immediately noticed about today's release...
ColdAvoral replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
They are, I have seen like 8 since I started playing in .47 -
Myself, I would love to see some IMZ-Ural or Dnepr Motorcycles, Denpr shut down a while ago AFAIK but IMZ-Ural are still going strong. Motorcycles seem like a smart choice, given the fuel economy compared to cars, along with the size. I'm biased however, as a fan.

My Encounter With A Hacker And What To Look For To Avoid Them (Not A Rant Post)
ColdAvoral replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
I had a similar experience recently just outside of B-town, up in the hills. They were all hunkered down in a farmhouse when I arrived and all of a sudden people started hearing fully automatic shotgun fire, eventually all but 2 of us died. And we tried to hunt down the hacker, though to no avail. One thing I noticed during this, it was also possible for him to project some sort of aura that would cause you to holster your weapon, making it impossible to fight back. Also, when I was trying to rush him with my pistol, my character held the pistol to his head mid run, I didn't shoot, afraid that it was some sort of hack that would cause me to kill myself, but it was a very strange action at a time when I seemed to catch his attention. (was trying to hit him with my mosin, but kept putting it away, so I tried pistols, seems it may only work for your primary on your back.) anyway, I hope this helps. -
I like the idea, though I think Zed loot should be at the very least damaged-worn. No finding pristine stuff on zeds And I think the chances for finding stuff should be based on the same chance as loot spawns, that coupled with the damaged or worn status, you could end up ruining allot. even have a chance for items to spawn ruined. That way the stuff is there, you could even remove the bullets from a ruined mag to see if any survived etc, but you might also be shit out of luck. And I know dean mentioned in an interview with one of the PCPP staff that he was hoping to implement disease and such I remember something along the lines of (NOT AN EXACT QUOTE, I can't find the mag straight away) 'You could pick up a pair of pants, but that pair of pants could be infected with cholera.' so I'm sure its a feature that is already being considered. That said, it is not like there is no point in killing zombies. Given how easy it is to die, you kill them so they do not kill you, not to mention that it will be more important to avoid them when the spawns are increased eventually.

Pistols would also come into their own if you were unable to aim down the sights if there was no room to bring the gun up. Pistols allowing closer proximity to a wall. Sort of like crisis. Though as it stands the speed is still a great bonus. Also invaluable if you are rocking a mosin. Not to mention that you don't telegraph quite as much going around a corner as with a long barrel.

AKMs also spawn in jeeps
-
I have found police cars are great for loot. Same with jeeps. They often contain military parkas, Weapons, Ammo, Food and other good loot. Also the tups of the small market stall/shacks seem to spawn civillian weapons, pistols and mags spawn with other general loot

I like the IG maps mainly because once combined, you have a complete map and you can zoom in/out with allot more detail than most online maps provide. Not to mention that the countours and such are really detailed.

DayZ SA Equipment Guide: What Equipment you should be using to survive, and where to find it!
ColdAvoral replied to marsmars's topic in New Player Discussion
A note for Magnum, shotgun and double rifle users I've had a couple of people attack me (Defended myself of course) so I returned fire. The odd thing is that they always seem to have their speedloaders IN the magnum. And that was after only three shots, and it only had 3 left. If you have speedloaders, keep them in your inventory and load your shotgun/magnum/double rifle with loose rounds at all times, that way you save your speedloaders for the extended fights where it will help you in the long run. -
Three things that completely ruin the DayZ experience...
ColdAvoral replied to Daricles's topic in New Player Discussion
I agree with most of your points. Server Hopping and Ghosting have been the cause of all but one of my deaths to date and it does feel cheap. I actually watched a guy log in and out twice at the big inland airfield control tower. (The things you can see when you just sit and watch with bino's for ages.) -
I'm yet to KOS, but my first 2 kills were fairly memorable. The first time, I was at the smaller airfield. I had just looted one of the buildings and was legging it for the treeline when I had some pot shots taken at me, so I ran hard for a small shack and took one in the back. By that time a Zombie had taken an intrest in either me or him. Made it into cover and bandaged my wounds, took out my mosin and fired off my only two rounds (fairly certain I downed the guy, though he was still kicking.) Took out my Colt Python and bolted for the Z, put one in it's head and whilst he was on the ground I simply put one in his head. The second time, I was looting the military tents when I heard a gunshot, ran for the tents (by this time I had acquired an AKM and a Mag) and as he came around the corner, I unloaded a burst into his chest. Though his second shot winged me pretty good. I have had a couple of close calls around military bases, though I have usually had luck running to hide from the bandit groups I encountered. I was positive three guys had found me by the smaller military base. they chased down and killed a Zombie, then moved for the base, 2 moved for the base, one waiting in the field. who joined them after a few moments (I was really contemplating offing him, because I was starving at that point. I really needed a can opener or knife.) But yet to KOS and proud.
