That. And while I do understand this serverload thing, I really don't want to spend 2h to just get back to my guys. Imagine you die in Berezino and spawn in Kamenka. Maybe thats a good experience the 1st 10 times but after playing several 100h, I want to just team up again with my guys. Taking the example from above: you run to Balota, check the airfield, check the 3 deerstands south run to cherno, check supermarket, church, firestation, those 4 cafes run north to Vysota and then start your run to Berezino. Find a chopper wreck or 2 on your way and then 2h later you are back. That is 2h of boredom after you did it 100 times. Or you just hit respawn until you spawn close to Berezino. And you will have 2h more time to play with your team. But anyway its alpha, so give it a shot I guess, but I don't think it is a good idea.

Oh yes, those little bitches. This is actually the most annoying part of the game. Losing your gear - fine, hackers - fk it, I don't really care, grieving in any way - meh. But DC in a firefight is the cheapest thing ever in this game. Yesterday for example, saw 2 guys at a white pick up, it was night in the woods. Me and a friend move in to them w/o NVGs. Took them down, sadly I could only score one hit with the M14 - 1st DC. We positioned around the Pickup and waited. 15min later they reconnect (I guess they fixed each other up on another server) they got my friend and after 10min passed or so they approached the Pickup again I dropped them both, didn't kill them - 2nd DC. I repositioned waited for 20-30min. Got shot out of nowhere and one of them typed something like L85 got you. So they Dced 2 times and then eventually got me with thermals. The best thing is, they said, after calling them out for DCing: "With our gear you would have Dced as well". WTF! stupid little bitches. And you can't even ban for that.

Well, if you never do something wrong, you prolly stay the same as always. So life is mostly try and error. And sometimes one tries something bad and hopefully learn and evolve. He got his punishment and now move on. And actually apologising does show he cares. So, if it would count for anything i would forgive you.^^

Actually that is the 1st time I see a hacker is apologising. I read all of it and it seems that you are really regretting it. Respect for that and you got your punishment - the global ban. So it is evened out now. IMO you wrote that more for yourself - like a self-finding thing - than for others, except the apology, which again sounds really honest. In the end you prolly learned more about the DayZ spirit than most of us. So now it is like every addiction: Don't do it any more! Ah and btw. hacking/cheating/guides or whatever makes gaming obsolete, never really understood why would someone do it. Just buy a new copy of Arma.

Really nice work. Maybe don't make the 0-altitude blue, as it looks right now that cherno is underwater. And putting your heights on a high-res map would also be helpful.

The map is way to small. You can run to almost any point of interest in around 30min I guess and on your way there all sorts of stuff can happen, so this isn't a walking simulator at all. Besides all the bug fixing and those underground structures this game needs a way bigger map at least from my POV. Whereever you go on the map, you always find someone too shoot or someone who shoots you.

You lost your virginity. Congrats, its about time! It will get easier. My 1st PK was also at stary. I can remember it like it was just yesterday. His name was snubs. I came form the coast to gear up at stary at night, found an enfield on the way. Moved up form the hill from east and saw those loot piles and thought that someone was really busy. That was the work of at least 1h farming. I watched the situtation for a few minutes then he threw a flare and ran into a tent I aimed my rifle at the entrance, my heart was pumping like crazy and waited for him to move out the tent, he did and I shot and he dropped (I didn't even think of looting him) and the zombies were coming for me I ran and almost died to the zombies and needed around 1,5h to recover my blood - Karma was just knocking at the door. And tbh I really felt sry for snubs and guilty for almost a week or so. In that week I really thought about why I did kill him and I can't say, I just did. And now... a few weeks later, a few kills more...there are still some kills which are following me for quite some time, but it will get easier...or your soul just gets darker...who knows. Welcome to the dark side, Burro?! Oh boy I love this game!

The crafting/construction thing would be nice. Like make your own ammo and stuff like that, but the main content of "my Dayz" is mainly hunting for chopper wrecks and shooting players. Thats it and I like it.

Just got kicked from cz01 because of some corrupted memory, so was everybody in my group. Game itself had some massive desync while driving a car. Other then that the game ran really smooth. Only one guy out of our group died instantly while joining.

And why? There are actually the only servers which run 1.7.2.1 probably.

Is the CZ01 test server locked for some special thing?

Is bush sniper a real profession or more like a "form-hobby-to-a-job" thing. What you guys think? I am really interested in this question, of course only in a semi-professional way. My job as a painter isn't that exciting at all, paint does dry kind of slow, but I like the smell of it. And I am looking for something new on the other hand I heard bush sniping is making you a sociopathic unemployed mass murdering and general unsuccessful sad person. People shouldn't really answer here in some kind of a serious way. OP you got killed by a bush sniper, by a guy who is also looking for chopper wrecks, by a guy who just spawned in behind you, by a guy who just walked by and saw you, who knows - just deal with it. And obviously that:

Mysteriously one gun appeared again next to a tent, but guys from my group have been to scared to pick it up as it seems a bugged gun or whatever. Little girls they are...^^ And on a more serious note: The L85 is useful as a some kind of scout rifle and you have to be in a group of 3+ players using it effectively, but other than that it is quite useless if you want to stay alive for a while. Yes it has thermal view, but the zoom factor is already kind of big, so i'd say everything below 100m-150m is quite save from being spotted by you and the red colour does make it really hard to determine the objects besides the "glowing" target compared to the black-white thermals. In addition it isn't that accurate (at least the shots I took with it) above 300m and you are shooting 5.56 so it is also low damage. In CQC it is really useless if you are not Billy the Kid himself. So yes used in a group it is a powerful spotting tool on range, but which weapon isn't powerful used in a group. You still have to determine friend or foe even the thermals can't help you with that. The L85 gives a nice variety to the guns available and I do like it to have it in the group and it is by far not a game breaking element. So I'd vote for it to stay.

Of course its an alpha everybody knows that. But the devs wanted to create a mod/game which is highly emotional the one way or the other way and actually they reached their goal already as the forum community reflects. And given all that heart, work and emotion people have put in this game/mo(a)d^^ already by playing it up and down people will get mad when something is going wrong. Some stuff you just have to bear with whether it be all this rage or the fact that the game is in an unstable development stage. Giving the answer: "This is alpha so gtfo and stfu!" to almost every thread here is leading nowhere. And at last the devs are as much depend on the community as the other way round. Of course its "their" mod, but playing zombie apocalypse with 5 people seems not that much fun.
